0:06 today's adventure brings us to the
0:06 corner of Fairfax Avenue and Wilshire
0:10 Boulevard Los Angeles
0:12 California this amazing
0:15 facade on this rather large Museum the
0:18 Peterson
0:20 Automotive Museum to be
0:29 exact let's head over I have been here
0:29 once before a little over a year ago to
0:32 check out the a car from Back to the
0:35 Future which has been restored and is on
0:38 display inside this building welcome
0:41 everyone Adam the woo here but I'm back
0:45 for a full tour not just that one
0:49 particular vehicle but a detailed walk
0:52 through of the premises there's a lot to
0:55 see here and it's been a while since I
0:58 was on site I'm inviting you to join me
1:02 shall you add in the fact that they are
1:04 celebrating their 25th
1:07 anniversary in
1:09 2019 it's pretty
1:12 exciting I just can't get over the
1:16 exterior of this place pretty
1:20 wild sleek and aerrow
1:25 dnamic in
1:28 proportion all right I think parking
1:31 prices are as follows if you want to
1:34 make a quick mental note before arriving
1:38 and once in the structure you will be
1:40 parking next to official Vehicles which
1:43 are also down here
1:46 including this
1:48 Porsche with decorative backdrop by
1:51 making your way to your spot you'll also
1:54 pass this
1:55 1924
1:57 Franklin just chilling here right next
2:00 to where you pay for parking and that
2:01 little machine to the left is this
2:03 screen used vehicle moon rover that was
2:06 used in the prequel to alien the 2012
2:10 Ridley Scott film Prometheus once in the
2:14 lobby you are presented with these
2:18 cars and the gift shop right across the
2:21 way there sponsored by
2:23 Jagermeister this thing gets up to 235
2:27 mph
2:34 it's pretty fast 1932 Ford Roadster it's
2:34 located just next to where the desk is
2:37 to purchase tickets look at this teeny
2:41 tiny item pretty much comes up to my
2:44 waist I don't even know if I could cram
2:45 into that car I'm doing the regular
2:48 admission they also have a vault tour
2:50 that's 75 minutes long for an additional
2:52 $23 but they do not allow filming press
2:55 the button
2:57 here wait for the doors to to open no
3:00 not the
3:01 doors not the not the doors the gwing
3:05 doors the
3:07 doors to the
3:10 elevator second
3:15 floor doesn't really need an
3:15 introduction if you've seen the Disney
3:18 Pixar movie Cars Lightning McQueen and
3:23 he's not the only one check it out back
3:26 here following suit in SLE file line I
3:30 always like the the eyes on the
3:35 windshield creates a personality
3:37 speaking of racing inside there is the
3:39 Bruce Meyer family Gallery some of these
3:42 are really cool looking there's more
3:45 than a few in this room including this
3:48 1964 World Record holder a th000
4:00 horsepower known as the belly tank but
4:00 my first impression is how how teeny and
4:03 Tiny the compartment where you sit is
4:06 it's like very little room the first
4:09 production
4:10 Cobra right
4:17 here yeah most of these not made for
4:17 Comfort but for Speed not with comfort
4:20 in mind stepping into another section of
4:24 low
4:25 riders and hot
4:27 rods it's pretty fancy
4:30 just look how low down to the ground it
4:32 is if you hit a speed
4:34 bump would not be good or you have to
4:36 take it really slow you have to go over
4:38 it very minimal speed according to the
4:42 information placard in front it says
4:45 this was used in the 2003 movie Too Fast
4:49 Too Furious the opening
4:52 scenes be hard to
4:58 forget it's pretty obvious the Ray Brown
4:59 Roadster was sold years ago four decades
5:01 later forgotten about was found in
5:05 1991 in this pristine condition solar
5:09 powered and if that's not beneficial
5:11 enough the little Archway acts as a
5:14 saale for
5:16 aerodynamics not
5:18 aerodynamic the interesting thing about
5:21 this however is the inside look at the
5:23 seating arrangements the thing I'd worry
5:25 about with this is if someone was
5:28 driving towards you and front ended you
5:32 they wouldn't crash they would just ramp
5:33 up over the side the the hood is like a
5:36 ramp it's so close to the ground it's
5:38 like Up Up and Away an interactive walk
5:41 through of a
5:44 Maserati facility in Italy basically all
5:48 you have to do is take your finger and
5:50 you get a
5:51 360 view who I'm kind of like I think
5:55 I'm doing something wrong just shift it
5:58 okay let's go slower
6:01 all right that's bad whoa whoa whoa now
6:02 I'm looking at the at the there's an
6:04 there's an employee okay that's
6:12 better and you just get your own private
6:12 tour and if that view is not good for
6:15 you slowly I'm going go slowly now shift
6:18 it this way and I can look in the
6:22 opposite
6:23 direction get the inside scoop along
6:26 this line of motorcycles noticing the
6:28 name on this one the crap
6:32 shoot some items that belong to Robert
6:35 Peterson this replica of the Olympic
6:38 torch that he carried for a leg during
6:41 the
6:42 1984 Olympics and this Viking helmet
6:46 that he kept in his office to show his
6:50 Heritage a camera here on the left that
6:53 he used during the early stages of Hot
6:56 Rod Magazine to take photos for for the
7:00 publication that's him right there in
7:02 the center of this wall
7:08 display right in the middle took this
7:08 winding staircase upward to the next
7:11 level just so much to see here and multi
7:14 floors a replica of what is considered
7:17 to be the first practical car the 1886
7:19 bz motor wagon only went 10 mph which
7:24 even if you had this in current day
7:26 would be fine in Los Angeles cuz that's
7:28 about as fast as you could go
7:30 in rush hour traffic and that old photo
7:32 in the background shows what it would
7:33 have been like to drive around the
7:35 streets in that day and age not referred
7:37 to as a motorcycle but a car on two
7:40 wheels see right there car on two wheels
7:44 notice the crank on the back near the
7:47 exhaust back bumper a little turn switch
7:51 this kind of reminds me of Chitty Chitty
7:53 Bang Bang in a way it's not from the
7:55 movie but it's just kind of jars my
7:58 memory of that film you certainly will
8:00 not blend in with this
8:03 item no you will not be Incognito or in
8:07 Disguise let's put it that way 1957 Ford
8:11 Thunderbird yeah that's nice it's real
8:14 nice I 100% would take a road trip in
8:17 this one 100% would hit the road in this
8:21 thing only one of seven built this was a
8:25 street legal race car used in the James
8:28 Bond film You Only Live Twice this can
8:31 be seen as we all
8:33 know you don't live twice at least I
8:37 don't I don't think you check out this
8:39 mural here this painting of Los Angeles
8:41 you can see the cars driving down the
8:45 freeway got city hall and then we're
8:48 getting into Hollywood Capital Records
8:51 building the Chinese
8:54 Theater it's pretty cool oh up here
8:57 Griffith Observatory and and that iconic
9:01 sign and below the Hollywood Bowl that's
9:05 pretty neat right there all
9:07 along the side of that wall sometimes
9:10 they have music playing in here and I
9:11 have to wait for the song to stop to
9:15 record and other times it's eerily quiet
9:19 as it is right now you could hear
9:22 basically a pin drop if a pen did drop
9:26 I'm not saying a pen is dropping but if
9:28 a pen were to drop I would probably hear
9:31 it this was used the television show
9:34 Outer Limits and a Jerry Lewis film for
9:38 some reason I missed what was on the
9:39 bottom floor so I came all the way back
9:41 down here in the 1980s Porsche designed
9:44 a few years worth of these miniature
9:47 versions for children even had an active
9:50 engine and transmission
10:20 top take a look at some screen used
10:20 movie Cars now of course Herby the Love
10:23 Bug this was not in the original but in
10:26 Herby fully loaded it was
10:29 modified specifically for the film
10:35 2005 the number 53 right there on the on
10:39 the hood and the door used in a
10:41 television series this is the Gypsy Rose
10:45 and next to that is the Plymouth Fury
10:48 used in the horror film Christine and
10:51 even though there were over two dozen of
10:53 these made there were only two stunt
10:56 cars and this is one of those
10:59 stunt cars the fascinating thing as they
11:02 always had the windows tenden so you
11:05 never knew if the car was driving itself
11:07 or if the kid was in there driving
11:11 Batman side car attached to the
11:14 cycle holy sidecar Batman and I'm not
11:18 just saying that on my own accord it
11:20 states that wording right down there and
11:23 from the 1989 Tim Burton the Batmobile
11:28 right there
11:29 Michael
11:36 Keaton that's pretty freaking
11:36 cool and and Batman Returns after
11:39 reading the placard not only in the
11:42 first film but also the second
12:01 one keeping up with that series or at
12:01 least in the same vein the same
12:04 Batman phenomenon The Dark Night
12:08 Rises this piece of mobile machinery and
12:12 then the great gadsby which came out
12:16 2013 you could see this vehicle just
12:20 make my way down the road appeared in
12:24 Iron Man 1 and 2 2008 and 2010 this 1932
12:30 Ford
12:31 flathead Roadster Thelma and Louise now
12:35 obviously this is not the one they drove
12:37 off the
12:38 cliff it is another one but nonetheless
12:42 this could be seen in the movie says
12:44 here that it was used primarily for the
12:47 closeup shots and sitting next to the
12:49 DeLorean Tom celix 1982
12:53 Ferrari for Magna Pi that has had to be
12:56 customized his seat because he was tall
12:59 kind of like me in order to fit to fit
13:02 in there they had to adjust a few things
13:04 to make it happen over in this case are
13:07 a few items that you could use if you
13:10 were polishing
13:11 up and clinging like a Brill pad high
13:15 gloss there's a magazine down here with
13:18 Steve McQueen's cartoon image on it and
13:22 a few
13:27 trophies most items you are not allowed
13:27 to touch or get into to their personal
13:30 space except for a few like this Model T
13:34 that you can sit behind the wheel prend
13:37 you're driving it even in this I don't
13:39 have a whole heck of a a lot of leg room
13:42 being tall has this advantages you know
13:45 I can get things out of the cupboard
13:47 easily and reach things at the grocery
13:48 store on the top shelf but sometimes you
13:51 know airplane seats and mobiles make it
13:54 a little bit difficult to change the
13:57 gears and see I got to move my knee to
13:59 shift
14:01 this you win some you lose some there's
14:03 advantages and disadvantages to anything
14:06 I suppose I got to keep rolling on just
14:10 realized this thing's not really driving
14:12 it's just sitting still but kind of
14:15 pretend out of all these I'm going to
14:17 show you which could you picture me most
14:21 in
14:29 a b or lastly
14:29 C I think this would be the most gas
14:32 efficient so I'm hoping you choose this
14:34 one
14:35 because gas prices am I right now
14:39 heading back down from the third floor
14:41 down to the second down to the first and
14:43 then the
14:44 lobby this thing in the middle almost
14:47 looks like a thermometer but it has
14:48 numbers on it I'm not 100% sure what it
14:51 is and what the numbers
14:59 mean maybe there's a information plaque
14:59 at the
15:00 bottom this looks very this like a I
15:02 mean like an alien stomach looking down
15:05 the staircase
15:33 back outside now discovered the reason
15:36 they have this particular item out here
15:39 is to Showcase that in a couple months
15:41 May of 2019 there's going to be a new
15:45 exhibit imaginative automobiles used in
15:48 film television and video games that
15:52 would probably be worth coming back to
15:54 check out basically in the section where
15:57 all the Porsche pair falia is will be
16:00 removed stuff like this well maybe not
16:02 this very large item but other items 40
16:08 of them will be placed in that room so
16:10 basically right inside there behind
16:12 behind these windows is where it's going
16:14 to be if you're in the snck of the woods
16:17 around that time frame that's going to
16:18 do it for today if you're new here
16:21 please subscribe by doing so helps keep
16:22 you in the loop up to date on future
16:24 uploads here on this channel taking a
16:26 step further ring that notification Bell
16:28 and if you enjoyed this particular
16:30 episode give it a big thumbs up lets me
16:33 know you care I'll see you in the next
16:36 video the Vlog
16:38 is over as
16:42 exiting in the parking lot in the
16:44 structure there's a few more vehicles
16:47 that probably at one point were on
16:49 display this
16:51 police cycle and trailer and this little
16:55 teeny
16:56 tiny thing not sure about these however
17:00 those might be for personal use maybe on
17:03 the roof of the fourth
17:06 floor you can get a perspective of that
17:08 facade that runs the entire perimeter of
17:11 the museum building and as I pan to the
17:14 left you will see some
17:17 skyscrapers off over there zoom in a
17:20 little more if you've ever seen the 80s
17:23 film Die
17:25 Hard nakatomi
17:27 Plaza is over there to the left not the
17:31 far left but pretty close to the to the
17:34 left of your
