0:02 welcome everyone Adam the woo here
0:02 coming to you from Watts California you
0:04 might recognize that name because Watts
0:07 was one of the locations of the worst
0:09 riots in Los Angeles history it's not
0:11 exactly the best neighborhood and the
0:13 best area in Los Angeles it was then
0:16 overshadowed their riots were
0:18 overshadowed by the Los Angeles riots in
0:20 the 9s but rest assured this area is not
0:24 not exactly an area you want to be
0:25 wandering around at night luckily this
0:27 is the daily woo and it's daytime so
0:30 it's not as bad but it's still not an
0:32 area that you want to be hanging out
0:36 with an iPhone 5 in front of
0:46 sh on the National Registry of
0:46 historical places Watts
0:55 Towers built by a man named Simon rodo
0:55 what is his name I cannot remember his
0:57 name I mind is actually drawn a blank
1:01 because I'm a little sketched out
1:03 walking around here I came out here a
1:05 couple years ago and I posted a picture
1:07 up on Facebook that was before I think
1:09 it was before I was doing the daily
1:10 Vlogs or maybe had already done a daily
1:13 Vlog that day I posted a picture on
1:15 Facebook and put the location of where I
1:17 was and a few people chimed in and said
1:19 you do not need to be in that
1:20 neighborhood you do not be need to be in
1:22 that neck of the woods walking around
1:24 one person even said you have no
1:26 business being on that side of town well
1:29 let me correct you sir I do have a
1:31 business and my business is vlogging
1:33 vlogging is my business and business is
1:39 good man can you see that the sun is
1:41 very very very bright trying to get a
1:43 good shot of that right there look at
1:46 those the Watts Towers took over 30
1:49 years to create the guy built them out
1:52 of junk
1:54 pieces of things that people in the
1:57 neighborhood donated and now there they
1:59 are are massive sculptures to the
2:02 heavens very very
2:05 awesome so I just wanted to stop by here
2:08 real quick not going to spend a lot of
2:10 time in this area just wanted to show
2:13 you the Fantastic Watts Towers do some
2:16 research go on Google look up this place
2:19 you can see some of the Fantastic
2:20 history the reason they were built and
2:22 the Fantastic Creator the man the myth
2:25 and the legend Behind these fantastic
2:29 sculptures
2:30 right here in
2:47 Watts ah I I was pretty close Simon Ria
2:47 and that's him right there
3:10 you can see theyve actually put some
3:10 bars up they put some protective fence
3:12 up that way people cannot go in and
3:13 steal graffiti tag up spray paint or
3:18 vandalize this exact place these were
3:20 actually almost torn down after the guy
3:22 passed away the city wanted to get rid
3:23 of them and there was a petition that
3:25 actually went up and they decided to
3:27 keep them and the way they decided to
3:29 keep them they had to be structurally
3:31 safe so what they did is they tested the
3:34 structural ability of these towers by
3:37 actually taking wires and pulling on
3:39 them they had to have an exact amount of
3:41 pressure per pound to keep these
3:44 actually in the air and if they were not
3:46 structurally sound enough they would
3:49 bulldoze them and get rid of them
3:50 luckily Simon built them
3:53 to to be very very strong and very very
3:57 solid and now here they sit and then
4:00 they became a national
4:03 landmark right here in the oddest most
4:06 unusual place that you can think of in
4:08 California you would never think that
4:10 these would be here in this neighborhood
4:12 which is actually very very cool you got
4:14 to wonder if the locals and the
4:15 residents appreciate this as much as
4:18 those of us that are watching this Vlog
4:20 are
4:46 all right so that's about it I'm going
4:46 to keep this Vlog very short and very
4:49 sweet if you're ever in this area and
4:51 you decide to stop by here I would like
4:53 to know that you actually came by here I
4:55 could hide some stickers here but I
4:56 don't know how many people would
4:57 actually show up to get them it's really
5:00 not that bad out here right now I can
5:01 imagine at nightfall this would not be a
5:04 neck of the woods that you would want to
5:05 be gallivanting around
5:09 especially holding this phone like I was
5:12 saying I did a vlog a long time ago with
5:15 my buddy Byron sin a couple years ago
5:17 year and a half ago and we went to the
5:19 corner of where the LA riots were where
5:21 Reginal Denny the beating of the truck
5:24 driver was and let me tell you that is
5:26 not exactly the nicest area either
5:30 we did it very quickly filmed the video
5:32 once we got back in the car even my
5:34 buddy Byron was a little sketched out he
5:36 even said we probably should not be out
5:38 here especially holding an expensive
5:40 cell phone because anybody could mug us
5:43 at any time or take your cell phone so
5:46 I'm going to say Ad do I'm going to say
5:47 goodbye and she this right here is also
5:50 going to say
5:53 goodbye all right see you guys later
5:55 have a great day bye
