0:03 starting off this morning in Way Cross
0:03 Georgia and it looks like I'm going to
0:06 have to stop for this train welcome
0:08 everyone Adam the woo here today is
0:12 going to be a good day I cannot predict
0:14 the course of the events that were
0:16 transpire over this day but if you go in
0:19 with
0:21 it it's the daily woo stopping off now
0:24 at Southern Forest world and inside this
0:28 Forest Tre
0:30 Museum behind that train in that
0:32 building is something incredibly unusual
0:36 they have on display an animal found
0:39 inside a tree log similar to this one
0:42 named Stucky the Petrified dog actually
0:46 the more I think about it the tree would
0:49 become petrified the dog was mummified
0:52 and I just realized I didn't have any
0:54 cash on me since they don't take credit
0:55 cards I had to count out $5 in change to
1:00 be granted admission I am now inside and
1:03 now that I see this I am wondering how
1:06 well do I really know pine cones in
1:10 reality I really don't know pine cones
1:13 that well showing the way wood is used
1:16 in the making of guitars and there's a
1:19 pretty cool mural here on the wall looks
1:21 like I see Teddy Roosevelt in there and
1:24 even Babe Ruth down in the corner this
1:27 is an example of the growth of trees
1:29 after five 5 years and then up into 15
1:33 years and then 25 years it just shows
1:36 the process of how quickly or how slowly
1:39 that they grow how many Factory workers
1:41 in Georgia are employed by a forest
1:44 related industry do you have any
1:48 idea
1:50 80,000 oh my goodness there it is the
1:55 sign stating the fact that there is a
1:59 mummify
2:00 dog
2:02 inside that log the environmental
2:05 conditions in this Chestnut Oak were
2:07 sufficient enough to preserve the animal
2:09 a chimney effect occurred in the hollow
2:12 tree resulting in an upward draft of air
2:16 causing the scent of the dead animal to
2:19 be carried away otherwise it would have
2:22 attracted insects and other organisms
2:25 that feed on dead animals and that is
2:28 how he stayed intact are you ready for
2:30 this he's waiting for us they have
2:33 preserved it even further by putting
2:35 glass over it it's going to be very hard
2:37 to get a good shot here because the
2:39 reflection is very strong but look at
2:43 that look down in there holy cow that's
2:47 him Stucky the Petrified dog he
2:54 exists he just has been chilling in
2:57 there for decades this is
3:01 extremely terrifying and what is this
3:04 little bag over to the right of him well
3:09 his left our right it's like he's in
3:11 there with a bag is that like a a bag of
3:14 snacks and food or is that something
3:17 that's kept in there to keep him from
3:20 decaying even more go ahead look
3:28 here this guy's feeding a gator that
3:28 Gator is bigger than he is someone has
3:32 carved an eagle out of a tree itself
3:36 there W an eagle carve from a portion of
3:40 a pine tree thankfully this hornets nest
3:42 is not full of the Hornets themselves
3:45 and it's just a display because I
3:48 probably wouldn't be able to get this
3:49 close to it without being stung stepped
3:52 into the back
3:54 Courtyard and look at the size of
3:57 this look at the width
4:00 of that tree
4:03 that's it's pretty incredible these
4:06 might be some of the largest wind
4:09 chimes I've ever seen they're taller
4:11 than I
4:24 am I don't think I did that correctly I
4:24 am not as eloquent as a breeze I've
4:26 always been a big fan of Smokey the Bear
4:29 but I never actually thought that I
4:31 would become Smokey the
4:34 Bear but you never
4:36 know sometimes things just happened
4:38 there's even a children's play area that
4:40 looks like a spider web and looming Over
4:44 The netting is this creepy
4:48 spider but you could pretend that you're
4:51 Gwen stefanian there I'm walking in the
4:53 spider webs leave a message and I'll
4:56 call you back a little more information
4:59 on this tree stump it has the diameter
5:02 of
5:04 106 in and you can stand inside of it
5:08 you want to go in there you want to
5:09 check it out let's go
5:19 in we're standing inside a
5:19 tree looking
5:21 upwards through the exposed
5:25 top it looks like this used to be a hole
5:28 in the tree maybe it was sealed in or
5:30 maybe the hole is slowly starting to
5:32 formulate you start with this uhhuh and
5:35 then the finished product are these yes
5:38 and this one actually has a lead on it
5:40 how long does it take to make one of
5:41 these 8 to 12 hours 8 to 12 hours so you
5:45 have to be really
5:46 dedicated all right d d and
5:50 retired a couple of those things in the
5:53 center of the main building you can walk
5:55 up inside a fake tree that they have
5:59 created cre ated and built that
6:02 stretches to the
6:03 roof and if you look
6:06 down down there that's that
6:09 log that's that log that the mummified
6:12 dog is in be very quiet don't wakeen
6:15 that is one beastly looking chainsaw
6:19 that thing could do some damage I'm
6:21 still having a hard time wrapping my
6:23 head around Stucky the dog just it's an
6:26 incredible story and he's just he just
6:29 hanging out down there in that piece of
6:31 wood oh you're going to open the case
6:33 for
6:34 me oh my gosh I can get it up close look
6:38 if you get it just right you should be
6:40 able to see his ribs his ribs yes oh my
6:44 goodness try to get this side of him
6:46 okay oh yeah you can see his ribs down
6:49 in there yeah see oh my goodness you
6:52 can't do it if you don't have some kind
6:53 of lightning on it
7:01 wow such a crazy story yes and I
7:01 actually got to meet the guy that this
7:04 wood was this block of wood was cut down
7:06 and actually put on the trailer before
7:09 they found out that the dog was in there
7:11 I talked to the guy that actually put
7:12 this on the trailer and he said he put
7:15 it on and he got off to walk the trailer
7:19 check his wood how he had it stacked on
7:20 there you notice him in here all he
7:22 could see was clothes he said he said I
7:25 he said it scared me he said I didn't
7:27 know what was faing to jump out at me
7:29 the people running the place are very
7:30 informative and very kind they gave me a
7:33 couple bumper stickers and a t-shirt for
7:36 free I told them they didn't have to and
7:38 they said no no no take this so thank
7:41 you really appreciate it that looks like
7:43 one of those paintings you'd see in a
7:45 Bugs Bunny or Road Runner
7:47 cartoon you can't actually drive through
7:49 that Tuttle remember when Wy coyote
7:51 would throw the fake hole in the wall
7:53 and the Road Runner would still run
7:54 through it and then Wy would try to run
7:56 through it and then smash into the
7:58 bricks classic there are some
8:01 seriously antique relics behind that
8:05 fence old classic
8:07 cars just rusting away
8:14 there
8:14 wow pretty
8:21 cool lots of them back in there there's
8:21 an old water slide there behind the
8:25 weeds no longer in
8:28 use but there was a lot of good times
8:31 that were had there as well
8:33 as at the roller Rank and the bowling
8:38 alley all of
8:40 which are no longer in business when I
8:42 was young I spent a lot of time at water
8:46 parks and when I lived in eala Oklahoma
8:49 they had a water slide just like this it
8:51 was just like a little local two or
8:53 three flumed
8:54 one just seeing this brings back a lot
8:57 of memories from my youth I'm currently
8:59 heading East well more
9:01 Southeast really but this is Highway one
9:05 it's the number one highway or at least
9:08 that's what they labeled it and we are
9:10 completely engulfed in trees the little
9:13 teeny tiny ones they were either just
9:16 planted or they are in the 1 to 5e range
9:21 judging on the little display I saw back
9:23 there at the
9:24 Museum they're baby trees
9:34 I hear the trainer coming it's rolling
9:34 around the band there it
9:36 goes dang I just started singing big the
9:40 foot I just started
9:43 singing fail entering downtown folon
9:48 Georgia right along the train tracks
9:51 they take their trains very seriously in
9:54 this town in fact right across the
9:57 tracks there they have built a little
9:59 viewing area they say 60 trains a day
10:04 pass right through here another little
10:05 hangout area on this side as well and
10:08 currently there are a few people waiting
10:10 for the next train to pass here at the
10:13 area they call the folkton funnel they
10:16 even made a sign that's dangling from
10:18 the roof
10:39 that run off of a VHS or is that digital
10:39 I haven't used one of those since I was
10:41 a kid see
10:50 that's hear one coming oh wow yeah it's
10:50 got a pretty good zoom on it and it runs
10:52 off the old VH chest
10:55 tapes you don't see those anymore still
10:58 still in use no a
11:39 I realized in the short while I stood
11:39 there talking to all the locals that I
11:41 know very little about
11:43 trades they take it very seriously here
11:47 I'm now on Highway 40 but most people
11:50 refer to this as the Oka phoi
11:54 Parkway that's what it's really called
11:56 wind Dixie grocery stores I worked for
11:59 this company for about two years one
12:01 year in the early 90s and then another
12:04 year probably in the early
12:07 2000s I was a stock crew manager and I
12:09 also worked in the dairy Department the
12:11 Boy Scouts are doing a food drive out
12:13 front so I'm going to contribute some
12:14 chicken of the sea gave the non-p
12:17 perishable items to them and I have some
12:20 perishables in here that I'm going to
12:21 consume I got myself a ham and cheddar
12:24 wrap a is that a bushel of celery it's
12:28 not maybe not a bushel but a bunch of
12:30 celery and some delicious fruit look at
12:35 that I'm really going to try to start
12:37 eating a little bit better I'm not going
12:38 to go on a crash diet like I have in the
12:40 past I'm not going to do something
12:42 extreme but you will notice from here
12:45 till hopefully the rest of the future me
12:48 peppering in a little bit more fruits
12:51 and vegetables into my life into these
12:53 Vlogs into my Regiment of what I'm
12:56 eating my body definitely needs to lose
12:58 a little bit of weight and it needs a
13:00 little bit of nutrients flourishing
13:02 around more than what I have been
13:05 consuming in the past 6 Seven 8
13:08 months oh
13:14 man that's
13:14 good oh man you want
13:19 them you want a piece which one do you
13:24 want just take one just take it vlog
13:29 over
