0:31 Monday in downtown St Cloud it's my

1:01 A-list hotel in any way shape or form

1:05 hotels.com or Yelp or any of those it

1:11 Psycho so that should be fun I'm going

1:13 to be camping out there tonight I'll be

2:07 Irish bars I believe it was called odori

2:10 before that it was called something else

2:11 and before that it was called something

2:13 else I do not drink so very rarely do I

2:16 frequent bars unless I'm playing in a

2:18 band and we're playing in bars no band

2:21 I've ever been in has ever actually

2:23 played in that former bar but I do know

2:26 that that was OD Doris cuz I used to

2:28 hang out with some friends in there they

2:29 used to have like a little pool hall in

2:31 the back the thing that's cool about

2:32 that that was built in

2:34 1914 and actually there was a hardware

2:36 store that was on the other side of the

2:37 St Cloud Hotel that was the first

2:39 hardware store ever in Florida called

2:43 minson's hardware and they moved into

2:45 that building in the 1914 and now

2:48 they're up in CMI but it's the very

2:50 first official hardware store ever

2:53 created in Florida and it used to reside

2:57 in that building right there

3:00 but it's not there anymore they moved up

3:01 to CMI and if you think that's exciting

3:04 let me show you something even more

3:06 exciting than that let's do the swoosh

3:09 from Hardware

3:16 to to bank

3:16 robberies you ever heard of John

3:18 Dillinger the famous bank robber well

3:21 the story is told even though it's never

3:23 been 100% confirmed there are a lot of

3:26 local Legends historians that have

3:28 passed on this story that right here at

3:31 what once was the Citizens Bank of St

3:34 Cloud this is one of the original

3:36 buildings built in 1910 1911 1912 is

3:40 that used to be called Citizens Bank

3:42 they've actually re changed the name to

3:44 People's Bank you can see the little

3:45 awning up there and there used to

3:48 actually be a clock that was right there

3:50 on the

3:51 corner of the building I just bumped

3:55 into the American flag there had to

3:57 swoosh it out of the way to show you

3:59 where the clock once was and I think I'm

4:01 not sure on this don't quote me on this

4:03 but there's actually a clock right up

4:07 here and part of me thinks that that

4:09 clock that's mounted on this police

4:12 substation used to actually be mounted

4:15 on the side of the People's Bank the

4:16 former Citizens Bank in

4:19 1934 or 1935 I can't remember the exact

4:23 year Rumor Has It Legend has it that the

4:26 famous John Dillinger one of the most

4:28 famous bank robbers in in existence

4:31 robbed this Bank just imagine that John

4:35 Diller and two other guys that said

4:37 there were three guys robbed the bank

4:39 and when they left John Dillinger

4:40 supposedly leaned over to the teller and

4:42 said tell him John Dillinger CA no tell

4:46 him John Dillinger robed this Bank tell

4:49 them Large Marge CA that's not what

4:52 happened and maybe John Dillinger never

4:55 said that either but you know how local

4:57 folklore is started urban legend are

5:00 created but the building still here

5:02 People's

5:03 Bank there's really not a lot of people

5:06 that I know in St CL a lot of my friends

5:08 former acquaintances even know of the

5:11 legend of John Dillinger right here the

5:15 former Citizens Bank built in 19101 1911

5:19 is right next to the former makon

5:22 Hardware the very first hardware store

5:25 in

5:26 Florida that's a really cool Legend I

5:28 wanted to share with you a little tidbit

5:30 of St Cloud history I'm still working on

5:32 an eventual documentary about the entire

5:34 existence of downtown St Cloud look at

5:36 this place pretty

5:39 awesome I'm sure I will add this little

5:41 bit of information into that documentary

5:43 whenever that happens of course I'm

5:44 flying out to California on Thursday

6:33 it's actually been quite a few quite a

6:33 few different things over the years the

6:35 last thing this actually was was a some

6:38 kind of card shop where they played

6:40 games a lot of kids would hang out here

6:43 late Into the Night board games kind of

6:45 a big nerd Fest which is really cool to

6:47 see a lot of the St Cloud youth out here

6:50 in front of the former bank before that

6:52 there was a coffee shop and a bar it's

6:54 been a bunch of different things I don't

6:55 know there's a guy in there working now

6:57 no telling what the next thing he will

7:00 be creating maybe he's creating homage a

7:03 museum to John Dillinger if you will

7:06 what do you guys think about urban

7:09 legends stories that when someone says

7:12 something it becomes something else it

7:14 becomes something else it becomes

7:15 something else I could tell you

7:17 something right now that has no factual

7:19 evidence there's a good portion of you

7:22 that will actually believe that will

7:24 tell your friends tell another friend

7:26 tell another friend and then that story

7:28 that was never true to begin with ends

7:30 up taking a life of its own and becomes

7:33 factual now with the Internet it's

7:35 definitely more prevalent than ever

7:36 before so you never really know what

7:39 you're hearing is true but let's do some
