0:02 welcome everyone out of the woo here as
0:02 the recording of the Saturday November
0:04 4th
0:05 2023 I am standing here in Plymouth
0:08 Massachusetts the one and only Ben
0:10 Lawrence local resident to the area very
0:13 familiar with this General vicinity and
0:16 you're going to show me some stuff
0:17 around town we're going to start off
0:18 here at the former Plymouth Plantation
0:20 now the Plymouth what's it what is
0:22 Plymouth pit this is a recent name
0:24 change um I always grew up it was the
0:26 Plymouth Plantation so I'm still getting
0:28 used to the pit name yeah not quite sure
0:31 what that means uh maybe we'll find out
0:33 we find out we could ask some questions
0:36 I am very excited about seeing Plymouth
0:37 Rock oh yes don't give me any spoilers
0:41 and people have kind of chimed in and
0:42 said but I'm just going to wait and see
0:44 how that is oh it's going to be grand
0:46 we're also going to see the Mayflower 2
0:48 Y is that what it is like a recreation
0:51 so the original one was there for the
0:52 longest time and then it eventually just
0:53 rotted away you know they had to I don't
0:56 know whatever Happ the original
0:57 Mayflower was there yeah really yep so
0:59 the the May flower 2 I don't remember
1:01 the year that it was built and
1:02 constructed but it's it's more of like a
1:04 recent kind of thing the original
1:05 Mayflower was around for for a long time
1:07 after the pilgrims had come and gone so
1:09 so we'll just do a bunch of pil it'll be
1:11 pilgrims our own Pilgrims Progress it's
1:13 our own pilgrimage to Plymouth yeah I'm
1:16 inviting you to join me and Ben Lawrence
1:19 shall you a little delayed but shall you
1:23 so you were just saying also that they
1:26 tie into a few days ago we did the
1:28 locations of Hocus Pocus which which
1:30 were like 2 hours from here 2 and 1/
1:32 half hours from here so obviously didn't
1:33 we need to drive all the way over to Pou
1:35 but now that we're here the first aerial
1:38 view is right down here too right yeah
1:40 it's inside um so there's like two
1:42 sections there's like the like
1:44 campsite which is the native tribe to
1:46 the area and then there is a like
1:47 Pilgrim Village so the opening of Hocus
1:50 Pocus was like an aerial shot over the
1:52 uh over the Pilgrim Village so we're
1:53 definitely going to be going to quite a
1:55 few places fall in full effect and the
1:58 fact that it's November this does come
1:59 kind of tie in with the month of
2:02 Thanksgiving ah here's a little model of
2:04 the mate flow right here so I'm going to
2:07 be seeing a recreation fulls size
2:09 Recreation of this some point later
2:13 today there's another ship back there I
2:14 wonder if they sell these in the gift
2:16 shop always ready to serve an inflatable
2:23 turkey oh this is interesting it's like
2:24 a Mayflower cow it's the mo flower it's
2:27 the moof flower the mlow is that what
2:29 it's really called called it is called
2:31 the mo
2:32 flower okay we made it down to the
2:34 little village here first
2:37 structure we're just keeping our fire
2:40 going if you have any questions please
2:42 feel free to ask my name is Danielle
2:44 this is Luke we're um we're just you
2:47 know some of the historical interpreters
2:49 who works down here at The Hite so if
2:51 you have any questions in regards to the
2:53 house or anything that you've seen
2:54 outside please feel free to mention it
2:58 but I think what's important to
3:00 understand or is to set the setting
3:02 right so this is a winter house okay so
3:05 this house would be further back by
3:07 about a mile or so further Inland and in
3:09 house is called weu okay so this is
3:13 a traditional winter house and you
3:15 would be living here with um your
3:18 extended family and you would know how
3:20 many generations were inside one house
3:23 based on the number of fire pets so
3:25 we're seeing we we're we're using our
3:28 best judgement if it's Cooks
3:31 they're cooking meat thank you you're
3:33 welcome is that the machon right there
3:34 yes that is the machon and if you
3:36 haven't climbed in it go for it guys I'm
3:39 talking about making a boat like this um
3:42 and so that uh you're then going to sort
3:43 of fire at the bottom of the tree cuz
3:46 Clay is fire resistance so it's going to
3:47 contain the fire to just the bottom of
3:49 the tree trunk um you're then going to
3:51 keep feeding that fire until it it weers
3:54 away enough at the tree trunk on one
3:56 side until it falls down all right turn
3:59 this way take a look at
4:02 this this is
4:08 awesome these are the homesteads here
4:08 you see the little garden going over
4:11 here good morning hey how are you how
4:14 are yourself doing all
4:20 right can we go in yeah as long as the
4:22 doors are
4:24 open
4:33 wow that's neat you can actually go
4:33 inside the Interiors
4:42 here a little crib over here fireplace
4:42 there's a
4:53 bull definitely can see why this would
4:53 be used in a
4:54 production safe
4:57 Charles this excise of arms as we King
5:01 Charles
5:11 of got the firewood out
5:23 here another fireplace got a nice bed
5:26 here with the little mosquito netting
5:27 that goes around it well maybe not
5:29 mosquito nting but little drapes
5:31 here yes good
5:49 you am I clear yes all
5:49 right Havey to help gentlemen oh how do
5:52 you feel out for us again oh I'm a
5:53 gentleman no one is high born here in
5:55 New England all right well I suppose C
5:59 he is but he doesn't intend to stay he
6:01 intends to go on to James team as soon
6:03 as he can find a ship to take I'll take
6:05 being a gentleman well the whole purpose
6:07 of coming here is for land and once you
6:09 have a certain amount of land you may
6:11 call yourself a gentleman exactly maybe
6:13 one day then thank you i' be the man to
6:16 speak to you today if you're looking to
6:18 L here prepare to March
6:22 and
6:28 March
6:47 I really loved themed
6:47 Villages this one is definitely
6:55 awesome like the slant of
6:55 the of the cabin
6:58 here
7:03 it's like one of those like fun houses
7:03 you it kind of is yeah it kind of like
7:04 throws your EV overum off a little
7:07 bit roll the bottle up the
7:11 table medicine some Physics so this is
7:14 the root of a plant called el compani el
7:18 compani is good for the lungs cing FL
7:20 wheezing those sorts of things on so I
7:23 dried it out and now I'm crushing it
7:25 into powder okay right yeah ask who you
7:29 are
7:30 yeah your name is
7:43 wife believe we can climb up in this so
7:43 we're going to climb up and get kind of
7:44 a an upper deck bird's eye second level
7:47 perspective you climb up the stairs so1
7:51 got the Cannons up
7:56 here but if you look out here see
8:08 wow that's
8:08 awesome look at
8:12 that what's over on that island out
8:15 there that's like uh that's like the
8:17 point so it goes all the way and like
8:19 connects to like it connects to BL the
8:22 whole thing okay oh so it's not an
8:24 island okay I can see the you can see
8:26 like the rest of it over there but like
8:27 that's like the kind of main part
8:29 beaches over there and everything
8:31 there's the guy we were just talking to
8:32 down there's actually a group people
8:33 talking to and I walked up and
8:37 was listening to his conversation about
8:39 the the history of his character but
8:42 he's also you know you're really Ru not
8:45 he's also doing some maintenance work
8:46 he's repairing the roof so he's doing
8:49 double duty out
8:54 here some outfits here the English
8:54 people of the first Thanksgiving
8:56 participated in the first Thanksgiving
8:58 included 20 four men five women and 24
9:01 children and teenagers all right this is
9:04 making me
9:05 hungry I sing the same thing right that
9:07 looks good
9:09 usamin I've heard of massao who they
9:11 mentioned on there as well yes and
9:13 that's like his like title it's more of
9:14 like a title oh okay so it's two it's
9:17 the same person yeah same Y and we'll
9:19 see a we'll probably see a statue of him
9:22 later on uh later on in the day oh I'm
9:24 going to get a little New England coffee
9:30 we found a parking spot over here near
9:31 the Gris Mill there's a family of ducks
9:34 right there and take a look there's
9:37 swans there a swan there there's a swan
9:40 there you were saying there was a movie
9:41 called Osmosis Jones filmed right here
9:44 yeah D Bill Murray movie and uh it was
9:46 like half half live action half animated
9:49 uh Bill Murray movie with Chris Rock
9:50 voicing one of the characters was filmed
9:52 right here it's the most random spot
9:53 parking lot area filmed Osmosis Jones
9:56 Bill Murray walked across this bridge
9:58 right here he did there was like a zoo
10:00 like a fake Zoo set up right here on
10:02 that side of the uh on the water in that
10:03 little culdesac yeah and then right here
10:05 there was like an elephant I think the
10:07 elephants are like the camels right here
10:09 you can still see I never saw that movie
10:11 it's such a random like obscure movie to
10:13 film like right here in Plymouth right
10:15 downtown and this just like a random
10:17 parking lot but I want to mention this
10:19 church could be seen in the trailer for
10:21 a new upcoming horror film which kind of
10:23 reminds me a little bit of violent night
10:25 which came out last year about the
10:26 Christmas movie and Santa the actor from
10:29 stranger things Place Hopper was in it
10:32 pretty good if you like that genre but
10:34 they're doing one similar to that no
10:36 affiliation based on Thanksgiving I
10:39 think that was in the trailer right
10:41 there which I'm guessing maybe they what
10:44 did they film part of the movie here I
10:45 don't know if they I in the trailer I
10:47 don't know much about the movie but in
10:48 the trailer you can see like an overhead
10:49 shot of like the town and you can see
10:51 this whole kind of town square area in
10:53 the trailer and it doesn't look like
10:55 they filmed like the major town part I
10:57 feel like when the movie is released
10:59 instead of having popcorn at the snack
11:00 bar they should have turkey sandwiches I
11:02 think that would be great that is an
11:04 huge post off that is a Post Office
11:07 right there what the heck is going on
11:10 down here in Plymouth there is a
11:14 Mario do not attempt to play Frogger
11:18 Mario there is a Mario in front of
11:21 Bowser's
11:23 basement how's it going giving it a big
11:27 thumbs up was not expecting to see Mario
11:29 out here in Plymouth
11:31 Massachusetts this is Pilgrim Hall says
11:34 it right up there etched on the side
11:37 above the
11:46 pillars this the pilgrim Museum this is
11:46 indeed The Voyage of the Mayflower 66
11:49 day Voyage of the Mayflower was some
11:51 stormy at one point the main beam
11:53 cracked it had to be repaired using a
11:55 large iron
11:57 screw
12:17 ler they have a piece of Plymouth Rock
12:17 that you can touch so the other piece
12:20 we're going to see the one that everyone
12:21 goes to you can't touch but I can touch
12:23 this one just to confirm says Please
12:27 Touch
12:30 dude you're touching Plymouth Rock dude
12:32 the pilgrims touch
12:43 this that is pretty dang
12:44 cool massachus but she was saying this
12:46 is the oldest continually operating
12:48 Museum in the
12:51 US that's the footnote continually
12:53 operating the oldest continually
12:55 operating Museum anywhere in the US
12:58 that's insane to think about she also
13:00 informed us on the way in that this is a
13:02 recreation of the cannon that's on or
13:05 that was on
13:27 FL down to the water now there is an
13:27 incredible
13:29 amount of ducks or some sort of foul out
13:32 on the water there he got some seagulls
13:35 but then you got lots and lots of
13:53 birds you know why this is decorated
13:53 like this why is that it's so people
13:56 don't sit on it makes sense classic car
14:01 alert and another classic car in front
14:04 of Pilgrim's corner is the name of this
14:07 little store pilgrims corner I want to
14:09 show this too this is the guide map we
14:11 got at the first spot that includes a
14:13 couple different things you got the
14:14 Mayflower 2 and then you got the Gris
14:16 Mill and then you got the first spot so
14:18 they sell like a package deal I just
14:21 dropped that they s like a package deal
14:24 where this is the whole layout you got
14:26 the main campus and then you got the
14:28 Gris Mill which we're going to go back
14:29 over to and you get the May Flower too
14:31 it's all Incorporated in in one price
14:40 point and they when they uh took over
14:40 CO's Hill to make it a
14:42 memorial they took all the bones that
14:44 they find from there the surrounding
14:46 area and put them in that one the second
14:50 version of the Mayflower which is an
14:52 exact exact reproduction of the first
14:54 one is over 65 years
14:57 old
15:04 so this would be like walking
15:04 on the original
15:12 Mayflower do not know the exact number
15:12 step folks little bump the end right
15:13 there welcome and everyone starts by
15:16 heading right down below or down the
15:17 stairs first that's where they had all
15:19 102 pilgrims 102 I was just going to ask
15:22 you 102 if 102 people or just about 100
15:26 crammed down there for 2 months straight
15:28 wa mhm on the lower levels yep on just
15:30 that one deck on the one deck yep
15:34 102 pilgrims I was going to guess like
15:38 your bedding and person possessions
15:39 everything you could live without right
15:40 here with you you also have 8 in less
15:43 head R than you guys have this one of
15:45 the few alterations made our purpose to
15:47 the design of this
15:48 vessel uh this always been to museum no
15:50 one wants to crawl around down here in
15:52 their hands and just have a look so we
15:53 deliberately gave ourselves a little
15:55 extra head Ro it's a cargo ship it's not
15:56 a passer ship it's not meant to have
15:58 anyone living down here for any amount
16:00 of time never mind 100 people
16:02 from to thatone Light orir Flow you have
16:05 down here no C no no uh electric lights
16:09 handle lanterns would have been Ro down
16:11 here not a lot you see I would bump into
16:13 the roof the roof is made taller in this
16:16 Museum it's dark it's crowded it stinks
16:19 you have a lot more
16:21 trouble like 6 in sh yeah yeah like real
16:25 original about 6 in Shor I would be
16:28 having to
16:29 over I'm I'm a lot shorter than you so
16:30 I'm I'm in the clear I'm
16:32 good how many animals were down here too
16:35 with the with the pilgrims there's goats
16:37 pigs chickens and a few hunting dogs as
16:39 far as we're aware um we don't know the
16:42 exact number uh we actually have to
16:44 backwards calculate that based on a
16:46 census the pilgrims did 3 years later so
16:50 mating pairs probably a total of 20 to
16:53 30 animals um a mixture of those uh four
16:57 time kinds so and all the people were
16:59 staying on this they were on this deck
17:01 here all the 102 right 66 days to cross
17:04 the ocean 6 to9 months living on the
17:06 ship so there two months of delays
17:08 leaving England two months to cross the
17:10 ocean a month of Misadventures in Cape
17:12 Cod and then four months here in
17:13 Plymouth Harbor with a men goh to build
17:15 the town 6 Ines of snow on the ground
17:17 before they even start to build the
17:18 first house so that's why the they're
17:20 staying on the ship they're only shelter
17:21 until they get those first hous
17:29 build SK they would used to go ashore
17:29 since I've been in this area yesterday I
17:30 saw some Boston Tea Party stuff today
17:32 I'm seeing Pilgrim stuff it's giving me
17:34 A New Perspective for the American
17:36 Adventure at
17:38 Epcot it's a great show great
17:40 animatronics talking about history of
17:42 America the American
17:45 Adventure I may have invented these bif
17:48 focals I'm
17:59 wearing I may have been the first
17:59 animatronic to walk yeah he was Ben
18:03 Franklin walks up the stairs it's
18:05 amazing Ben Franklin walks so Belle
18:06 could
18:07 run is that where the captain would
18:09 sleep right there oh back there I'm the
18:12 same kind of bump these are just Petty
18:13 officers so they get a little bit less
18:16 good of a ride because they're further
18:17 forward than he is this bounces off the
18:19 waves the most so the further back you
18:20 are the better okay um I could and he's
18:24 as close to the water as you can get
18:25 without actually being cargo so that
18:28 going for him and you're never all that
18:30 comfortable you're just less miserable
18:31 the more important you are and this is
18:33 where the the steering wheel was or this
18:36 invented the wheel yet they hadn't
18:38 invented the wheel so you're just
18:38 tilting that lever back and forth it
18:40 does the same thing it's just a way
18:42 simple way to do it yeah interesting
18:44 when they sailed this actual ship over
18:46 they did have a steering wheel cuz the
18:47 government said this was too crazy back
18:49 in England but ours just didn't have a
18:51 problem with it I mean we've got a lot
18:53 of red tape to take her out anyway it's
18:55 fine so this like controls the rudder
18:57 back and forth essentially yeah so as
18:59 I'm here on this Recreation I'm just
19:01 imagining I this this is kind of blown
19:02 my mind a little bit just kind of
19:04 imagining what it would have been like
19:07 but the real one was on display back in
19:10 the day so people actually got to
19:12 witness stand on the historical first
19:15 one I mean even just being on the second
19:18 one is amazing so imagine the the feels
19:21 it would be if that first one was still
19:22 around hadn't
19:23 decomposed over time pretty incredible I
19:28 didn't think this was going to be as
19:29 cool it's pretty cool right once I'm
19:31 here I'm like okay this is this is
19:32 pretty dang awesome I mean I I take it
19:34 for granted cuz we did so many like
19:35 field trips to these kind of places when
19:37 we were kids like the local schools were
19:39 all every local school comes to all
19:40 these spots but like once you come and
19:42 visit with somebody who's never seen
19:43 this it's really it is impressive you
19:45 know this is where our country kind of
19:47 started was was down here in P which
19:49 reminds me of the Disneyland Colombia
19:51 when they like fire the cannon right
19:53 here can I touch this yeah when you
19:56 mention the Columbia the Columbia was
19:57 built on the uh on the river that or
20:01 it's the river that goes through my town
20:03 so oh really oh no way yeah Columbia she
20:05 was built in modern day Norwell situ I'm
20:08 from Handover that's the town south of
20:10 it so we also had ship yards in Handover
20:12 for quite a while and they built the
20:13 Columbia there yeah built the Columbia
20:15 there was that just you know exploration
20:17 ship first American ship C navigate the
20:19 globe yeah um real Columbia the real one
20:22 yeah the one that the Disneyland was
20:23 recreated the real col was built there
20:26 in the 1800s 1700s not a pirate ship
20:29 pirate everyone assumes it's a pirate
20:31 ship the the Disney they actually took
20:34 you know paintings of the original
20:35 Columbia those built there in situ
20:36 Norwell and they just said yeah know
20:39 basically put our own Disney spin on it
20:41 so that's cool I
20:57 know that was loud that was there
20:57 another boat just give another reference
20:59 I hope that one's not going out for a
21:00 three-hour tour got to the top of Cole's
21:02 hill
21:04 now just
21:06 plaer to show over here so you got a
21:09 little Memorial over there to the
21:11 pilgrims they found their bones and they
21:13 couldn't
21:15 identify whose they
21:22 were so just in correlation which I
21:22 haven't seen it I haven't seen it yet
21:23 except for the one I touched in the
21:25 museum Plymouth Rock is down there may
21:28 flower 2 is behind that tree
21:29 line
21:31 and here is this the fulls size
21:34 sculpture we're talking about a little
21:35 earlier and there's little doggy and a
22:03 this apartment complex used to be a wax
22:03 museum did you ever go in there when you
22:05 were younger many many years ago when I
22:07 was a kid yeah I have a vague like
22:08 memory of like the on the Mayflower
22:10 scene but like it's been a long time
22:13 it's been long
22:19 gone okay there's a
22:20 discrepancy all the employes on the boat
22:23 so there was 102
22:25 passengers this says 104
22:29 right maybe uh did they say 104 or 102 I
22:33 want to say they said 102 I think so
22:35 maybe there was like a couple kids born
22:36 on the mlow we that's a possibility be a
22:38 possibility either way it was around 100
22:41 yeah give or take and they had the names
22:43 of
22:45 the4 in the first year these are the
22:47 ones that passed away in the first year
22:50 damn a lot that is a lot so this says
22:53 about 100 Souls came over in the first
22:56 ship and began the work which God God
22:58 and His
22:59 goodness hath hitherto blessed His holy
23:03 name has been
23:05 praised so he's keeping it vague about a
23:08 100 okay I'm being told there's a
23:11 tradition which one of his feet um I
23:14 believe it's got to be this that one cuz
23:16 it's look how it's worn down so in
23:18 Abraham Lincoln's tomb his nose is worn
23:22 down from people rubbing his nose so
23:24 there's a tradition here to rub his rub
23:27 the great sat foot yeah my brother told
23:29 me about this I don't know uh okay you
23:31 can see it's worn down so this one's not
23:33 as worn down so this would be his left
23:37 foot rub the great sash's foot for good
23:40 luck okay all right we're now going to
23:42 walk down and I am finally for the first
23:45 time in my life I'm 49 years old I'm
23:47 going to
23:48 see the real Plymouth Rock in all its
23:51 Glory it's
23:53 happening it is
23:56 time to see The
24:05 Rock here it is the date stamp 1620 on
24:05 it you can see there's a crack in
24:07 it a big crack right down the
24:15 middle so I would say it's probably 5 ft
24:15 across that's pretty decent size 4T 3 ft
24:18 wide maybe it's not
24:20 huge there is a security camera right
24:25 there that's the Rock You Can't Touch
24:27 people have thrown coins down
24:29 there you know in my mind I so people
24:32 have spoiled this for me people that
24:34 I've known over the years and they tell
24:35 me it's a little
24:38 anticlimactic sizewise I was expecting
24:40 it to be like a pebble it's a pretty
24:43 good
24:44 size that's the first time I've heard
24:46 somebody speak positively about their
24:48 first impression of the rock I was well
24:51 everyone told me I was going to be
24:52 really let down and I'm not as let down
24:54 as I thought I was I think it's pretty
24:55 cool yeah it is yeah it's more more like
24:58 a symbol of you know this is where the
25:00 pilgrims were here they came here you
25:01 know so all 102 pilgrims put their feet
25:03 on this one rock probably this exact
25:05 Rock they all did they stepped on that
25:08 to get to land they had no other choice
25:09 that's the one right here and this is
25:11 probably the same spot it was in it had
25:13 to have been how did they know this was
25:14 the
25:15 rock they took a really lucky guess okay
25:19 I'm wondering the Museum Part that had
25:22 the part that you could touch it did
25:23 they break it off of this I don't know I
25:25 mean when they say that it's part of
25:28 Plymouth Rock it had to have come from
25:29 somewhere connected to Plymouth Rock so
25:31 maybe it's that chunk that was over
25:32 there yeah I don't I don't that's what I
25:34 was wondering when they broke it they
25:35 broke it moving it you can see the crack
25:37 when we were touching it I'm like where
25:39 did they break it off cuz I've seen this
25:40 many times so I was wondering I'm like
25:42 we should stand right there we should
25:43 get like The Rock in there and then now
25:46 do you think Dwayne Johnson's ever been
25:48 here he probably came and said do you
25:51 smell what The Plymouth Rock is cooking
25:54 it's a very popular
25:56 spot this is I mean it just try to wrap
26:00 my head around the fact that I'm
26:01 standing at time of rock something I've
26:02 heard about my entire life okay I'm
26:07 reenact
26:11 there it's hard you're doing it you're
26:15 stepping on the plumouth
26:17 Rock here's some photo documentation
26:20 here of the rock being moved to its
26:22 current spot perhaps or a
26:26 spot
26:28 identifies the Rock in
26:30 1741 Elder font identifies the rock as
26:33 the first landing of the Mayflower
26:35 passengers and this which is called a
26:39 portico in the 1920s was built the
26:42 Portico which is where it now sits in
26:46 preparation for 300th anniversary of the
26:47 program's Landing the old Wares were
26:50 removed and the shoreline Rec config to
26:51 create a park setting a prob with rock
26:52 remains
26:54 today that's me reading that really fast
27:02 The Landing place of the pilgrims in
27:02 1620 stated here with this sign as well
27:05 right underneath this tree is William
27:07 Bradford governor and historian of the
27:10 Plymouth
27:11 Colony heard a lot about him today he's
27:15 in the
27:34 they heading back over now to the Gris
27:34 Mill go underneath this
27:36 little under Carriage of the bridge here
27:39 with the river going
27:52 by hey back over at the Gris Mill now
27:52 the wheel is turning which means we're
27:56 going to get to see something
27:58 going to go show them our ticket and
28:00 head in so I was telling these folks you
28:03 came at an awesome time because we only
28:05 run the mill about 2 hours a week and
28:09 your hair 2 hours a week so this is a
28:12 wrist Mill which is a grain grinding
28:15 mill Gris means grain so when theills
28:18 first came for Mills like this all over
28:22 the world this was a pretty common and a
28:24 pretty old technology even 400 years ago
28:28 and then the coer stuff is the
28:32 stamp so this is for baking and that's
28:35 for making a we have two millstones in
28:38 this picture thank you byebye in this
28:41 picture the millstones are apart which
28:44 they usually weren't they were usually
28:46 together like this all the time but
28:48 after we're done grinding today we're
28:50 going to take them apart so we can
28:53 clean brought it over and then we L it
28:58 down so it's
28:59 resting
29:01 thatal right here so when I turn this
29:05 dial it raises or lowers this part is
29:09 called the
29:11 sh so it's attached in the B so the goes
29:15 up and down to control the opening going
29:18 in and it's that rner start is pushing
29:21 it around in a bigger and bigger spiral
29:25 until it probably five or seven times
29:29 then it comes out around the edge but it
29:31 gets caught this is like a covering it's
29:34 called The Hoop and it catches that
29:36 ground corn there's about this much
29:39 space in between the hoop and the stove
29:42 so the friction from the stove is
29:45 pushing that ground material over and
29:49 this again is really old
30:00 technology expect theer to do it um so
30:00 they would have um that's it's a tough
30:03 one it was this gives a little
30:06 perspective too so you got the lantern
30:08 gear up top you got the spindle you got
30:10 the bridge tree you got the brayer beam
30:13 and then you got the
30:26 axle it's very soothing the sound of
30:26 it
30:28 just a maintenance yeah no big
30:31 issues which is pretty good for a meal
30:33 lot of meals have all sorts of now I
30:36 don't know when you open up your phone
30:38 sometimes you can use a White Noise app
30:40 like an airplane or a train all these
30:42 different sounds or a waterfall there
30:45 needs to be a Grist
30:47 mil White Noise app right I would take a
30:51 nap down no it's so it's peaceful it's
30:53 like relaxing heing those like what you
30:56 cranking away how the workers stay awake
30:58 down here right going on and it actually
31:00 says I wouldn't sleep because that's
31:03 unsafe yeah but they're like you can go
31:05 home though for an hour oh that's don't
31:08 go to sleep but it's soothing the sound
31:10 is so soothing they like you can read
31:12 you can do your corny
31:15 jokes what do you call the best student
31:18 at a corn School the
31:21 acorn how much do pirates pay for corn a
31:26 buccaneer
31:41 all right it is windy the sun is in fact
31:41 there's a windmill over there you can
31:42 kind of see it off in the
31:44 distance the sun is soon to be
31:48 setting over what river is this this is
31:50 the cape C canal and that's going to do
31:52 it for today you were just saying that
31:55 sometimes the Mayflower when they move
31:56 it but they move the Mayflower it comes
31:58 right through here yeah it comes down
31:59 through here cuz like you know this was
32:00 made as a cut through to get you know
32:02 instead of ships and boats having to go
32:04 all the way around Cape Cod they get
32:05 just cut right through here so sometimes
32:07 the Mayflower does come through here
32:08 when it's leaving Connecticut I need to
32:10 put this back on I got the temperature
32:12 just dropped all right make sure you
32:13 check out Ben Lawrence on YouTube I'll
32:14 put the link to his Channel show me
32:16 around his stomping grounds old stomping
32:19 ground stomping your feet stomping my
32:21 feet we were talking about Justin scar
32:22 in the car on the way over here and now
32:24 we're uh referencing referencing all
32:26 right I'll see you in the next video we
32:28 did uh an early Thanksgiving special
32:31 here I don't know if it's a special but
32:33 it was an early Thanksgiving episode and
32:34 I finally saw the Mayflower 2 and I Saw
32:40 The Rock The Rock I almost said Pilgrim
32:43 Rock but it was Plymouth Rock all right
32:45 I'll see you in the next video the
32:47 Vlog is
32:49 over stop your stop your feet stop it
