0:02 welcome everyone Adam the woo here as
0:02 the recording of this it is Wednesday
0:04 November 20th cheers
0:07 20124 I don't know why I threw the
0:09 cheers in between the day month and the
0:13 year but I did I'm standing here on the
0:16 Montreal platform going be taking the
0:18 Montreal to a couple places today
0:21 eventually later this afternoon early
0:23 evening I'm going to a
0:25 performance and going to be getting some
0:27 information from Elvis Presley's
0:31 stepbrother one of a couple Step
0:33 Brothers actually this one was his body
0:37 bodyguard for a few years and the former
0:39 International Hotel where Elvis
0:41 performed hundreds of soldout shows
0:45 going to be able to go in that theater
0:47 from what I am hearing this event only
0:49 takes place once once a month just so
0:51 happens it's happening while I'm here
0:53 we'll be able to go into Elvis Presley's
0:55 dressing room and the backstage area and
0:58 maybe see a few behind the seen things I
1:01 was born in Tupelo Mississippi I love
1:04 Elvis via Las Vegas also look at this
1:08 right down here 1964 Elvis and Anne
1:11 Margaret performed a song by the pool at
1:15 the Flamingo Hotel which is completely
1:17 under renovation now it's been renovated
1:19 even since the 60s when they filmed that
1:21 scene in the movie but the flamingo was
1:25 used where I'm staying the flamingo was
1:28 used prominently in that film when you
1:31 think of Viva Las Vegas definitely think
1:35 the king of rock and roll look at this
1:36 look down here there's a flamingo right
1:38 there painted on there nonetheless
1:40 wherever the day leads I'm also going to
1:42 go buy a couple Ela Spots I'm inviting
1:45 you to join me it's good to have you
1:49 here shall you the the guy that's going
1:52 to be giving the behind the scenes tour
1:55 if you will he does an event there again
1:56 once a month his name is David Stanley I
1:59 confused him with Billy Stanley which is
2:01 his brother who in the 80s I used to go
2:04 to Rocky Bayou Christian School in the
2:06 panhandle of Florida and Billy Stanley
2:09 was somehow involved in the ministry and
2:11 he showed up to talk to the my Christian
2:14 School about how he was The Stepbrother
2:16 of Elvis and I thought that was who was
2:18 going to be doing the tour today did not
2:20 realize that he also had a brother and
2:23 that brother went on to work with Elvis
2:26 not only being his stepbrother but also
2:29 ended up being his bodyguard it has a
2:30 lot of great stories to tell so pretty
2:32 interesting little uh tie into my youth
2:36 uh attached by family a family member of
2:38 a someone that talked to talked to me
2:41 when I was young in school I don't know
2:43 it's just kind of an interesting thing
2:44 also this is the
2:46 noisiest
2:48 escalator of all time kind of adds to
2:50 the Ambiance of Vegas either Las
2:54 Vegas this one's broken so I got to walk
2:56 up the stairs up to the mono now a
2:59 little later I'm going to go from here
3:01 well first of all I'm going to go
3:02 southbound down to the MGM station and
3:04 then I'm going to walk down towards the
3:06 Pinball Hall of Fame and the chapel from
3:09 viva Las Vegas and then later I'm going
3:12 to go up here to the Westgate which is
3:14 formerly the international where Elvis
3:16 performed for many years the most amount
3:19 of soldout shows in a row I think it
3:22 made history oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah
3:26 while I was on the monreal I looked it
3:27 up and it appears as if there were three
3:31 Step
3:32 Brothers three step brothers that El
3:41 had there was David there was Rick and
3:41 there was Billy so I don't know which
3:43 one came to my school thinking maybe
3:45 Rick and a monreal does not go all the
3:47 way down to this point there's another
3:49 one if I crossed over from the MGM I
3:51 could take the tra which is basically
3:53 more a l of monil it gets me a little
3:56 closer than this but that's kind of
3:57 timec consuming so I just jumped in an
3:59 Uber to go through remaining 2 miles and
4:03 now standing here in front of the
4:06 iconic fabulous Las Vegas sign a lot of
4:11 people here 1959 it's on been placed on
4:14 the national register of historic
4:16 places right there we also added
4:21 this debuted on the SHP in 59 today it
4:24 remains one of the most popular
4:24 attractions of Clark County appearing in
4:26 vacation photos commercials and movies
4:37 iconic got manderlay Bay over there and
4:37 right next to the Pinball Museum is the
4:39 current location of the little Church of
4:41 the
4:42 West it's a wedding chapel which is
4:44 still in operation you can book this in
4:46 fact I believe for a while maybe even
4:48 still currently you can have the king of
4:50 rock and roll or someone dressed up as
4:52 Elvis marry you inside here also on the
4:55 national register of historic
4:58 places and never been inside here but I
5:01 know it is available on occasions to go
5:03 in right now there is a a sign on the
5:06 front door that says private ceremony in
5:09 progress I don't know if that's true cuz
5:10 there's really hardly any cars in the
5:12 parking lot but maybe it's true maybe
5:14 they just left the sign up all right the
5:16 sign said check in at the office all
5:18 visitors must check in at the office so
5:20 I went to the office there's a lady in
5:22 there named Nicole she said you're
5:24 supposed to call in advance and set up
5:27 entry in a tour in advance she said you
5:29 know what go ahead and walk to the
5:31 front let's
5:38 see oh okay it's got the gate on it you
5:38 can peek in okay yeah so this is locked
5:41 but you can look
5:43 in oh this is
5:46 awesome okay this is cool
5:56 wow now I've stopped by here a couple
5:58 times another visit
6:00 to Vegas but never have I been able to
6:03 see
6:05 in how
6:15 cool this is a big piece of Elvis
6:15 history right
6:22 here man I am so glad she let me walk up
6:22 here and check that
6:28 out there you go I'm standing in the
6:28 same spot
6:30 as the king of rock and roll walking out
6:32 of here from the film there it is
6:35 awnings are still the same windows are
6:36 still the
6:43 same there's no confusing on what this
6:43 place has inside asked one of the
6:45 employees that said they used to have an
6:48 Elvis G an Elvis pinball but they no
6:50 longer have it and as far as they know
6:52 there isn't any in here
6:56 it come on the Sev
7:04 up with a buddy here Dana this is not
7:04 Dan this is a flock toy what is a flock
7:07 toy Dana it's like a little toy with
7:08 like kind of a felt or fur feeling to it
7:11 it's like little microfibers that get
7:12 like glued onto the outside but they
7:14 don't make them anymore it's a
7:15 collector's item I got I got a bunch of
7:18 Pokémon oh Pokemon
7:21 keychains Pokemon over from
7:24 here there
7:27 goes the monor
7:30 that dropped me off and look at this
7:33 getting a double mon rail it's kind of
7:34 hard to see the one on the other side
7:36 but look at that so I've arrived now at
7:40 this hotel which is now the Westgate but
7:43 it's been a couple different hotels when
7:44 Elvis was here was the international
7:47 this is the sign now out front and when
7:51 you walk
7:53 in there's a little exhibit here in a
7:55 glass case and in that glass case a lot
7:59 of different
8:01 items pertaining to the former hotel to
8:04 his stay over 800 soldout shows they
8:07 even have some very interesting items in
8:10 here as well the first record he
8:12 recorded it on
8:14 Studios a badge a weapon that he was
8:17 given also some items from his last show
8:22 here at the international including the
8:24 boots or the shoes I should say shoes or
8:26 boots he was wearing on that last show
8:29 well over over 100 sold out shows in a
8:30 row and they have a pair of the boots
8:33 inside as well also a big
8:35 sculpture of him as well like a full
8:38 size real life well not real life but
8:41 full size size sculpture here in the
8:44 lobby towards the check-in desk
8:46 Christmas show um so it'll leave even
8:48 more conect after that um the theater is
8:52 I don't know if you've been in many of
8:53 the other venues but they really don't
8:54 build them like this anymore with all
8:57 the the background in it's an easy load
8:59 is right out that back door there's a
9:01 loading guy he would always stop here in
9:03 this very spot and bow his head and say
9:05 a prayer he'd pray for having a great
9:07 show he'd pray for the band he'd pray
9:09 for the audience he just and then when
9:10 he'd finish he'd bow his head tap this
9:13 wall and then he'd go all the way to the
9:16 other side because he would enter from
9:17 stage left this is the original floor
9:21 where Elva stood set a prayer tap the
9:24 wall each
9:27 night is insane this is the original
9:30 floor oh my
9:33 God just mind
9:38 blowing is that crazy got
9:42 837 some say 600 some say
9:50 800 King is literally here he was right
9:50 here he was literally here standing
9:53 right and you touch the wall right here
9:55 I feel the spirit look I can feel
9:57 it the spirit of the the spirit of the
10:00 king that is the coolest thing ever I
10:02 swear Elis and Mohamad
10:19 front obviously paint um little bit of
10:19 renovation on the elevator but this is
10:20 pretty much um as it would have been
10:23 then except the photographs of man love
10:25 show um one thing that that people do
10:28 get excited about is the water fountain
10:30 that's over here in this corner is
10:33 actually the water fountain that was
10:34 here when Elvis was performing and while
10:38 Pi of it yes Elvis did actually drink
10:40 from that Fountain many times before he
10:43 would go up in the elevator and yes you
10:45 can take a drink from it you are allowed
10:47 to do that but if you do rumor has it
10:49 you will sing like Elvis and we're and
10:51 we're going to make you do it oh than
10:53 okay anyway no that was there and then
10:55 like you come out we're going to go into
10:56 the dressing room but then they would go
10:58 up
11:00 that's
11:24 Elvis than good I'm All Shook Up
11:24 Now I just drank out of the same water
11:27 fountain that Elvis drank out of
11:39 room is this on the other side all of
11:39 the dressing room was both of those two
11:42 this is the original bar that was in the
11:45 dressing room when Elvis was here
11:47 actually it's half of the original bar
11:49 the other half is on the other side the
11:52 when when this was his dressing room the
11:54 full bar was up against this wall you
11:56 can imagine what kind of uh you know
11:59 activity would go on in here it was uh
12:02 it was the place to be if you were if
12:04 you were you know the double a list you
12:05 would be able to get into the dressing
12:07 room um when Elvis was here um obviously
12:10 before the early show there'd be a lot
12:12 of people in between the two shows
12:14 because keep in mind when Elvis was
12:16 performing he was doing two shows a
12:17 night so when he would do a residency
12:20 the two months he was here it was 30
12:22 straight days two shows a night 8:00
12:24 Dinner Show 11:00 cocktail show and
12:27 occasionally a m that was an original
12:29 and yes rumor has it if you look really
12:31 close you'll look
12:33 bad the jokes get worse
12:36 is um the other thing is there have been
12:39 some Renovations one thing because there
12:40 were always so many people around you
12:42 know there was the the Memphis Mafia
12:45 there were different different stars
12:46 that would be in town he would
12:48 eventually have to get ready so there
12:51 was a room that was off to the side here
12:53 it's now the actual room when when Elvis
12:55 was here is a control room but it pretty
12:57 much mirrored what this room looks like
12:59 here in size and what the decor is it
13:02 was so he could step away and actually
13:04 have a few minutes of privacy to rest um
13:07 make sure everything looked where it
13:09 needed to be every hair was where it had
13:11 to go and you can take a look in there
13:12 and get an idea there's a shower and a a
13:14 little cop where he could rest but
13:16 imagine what that was like with the
13:18 people here David can share some of the
13:19 stories of some of the folks that would
13:21 come down here but um you know just
13:24 incredible and then you know if if you
13:26 were really on the the 4A list you might
13:29 get invited up to the Elvis Suite after
13:32 the show now the Elvis Suite there's a
13:34 lot of people that you'll see pictures
13:35 posting and saying they were at the
13:37 Elvis suite at the Westgate so the Elvis
13:41 Suite as it existed in in 1969 was a
13:44 5,000 square foot Penthouse up on the
13:47 30th floor um it was the Elvis suite and
13:50 then there was the first rooftop supper
13:52 club called The Crown Room that were up
13:54 there so in the mid90s the Hilton
13:57 Corporation invested 45 milon and
14:00 renovated the entire top floor so they
14:02 they got rid of the original Elvis
14:18 here so this is exactly how the other
14:18 one was it was on this wall that was
14:20 actually the dressing room they've
14:21 changed it into a control room
14:33 mhm that the shower in there
14:33 yeah
14:51 shower you doing your makeup in the
14:51 Elvis mirror yeah El got ready here and
14:54 now I got ready
14:55 here are you going to sing for us uh
15:04 so this bar here was original but it
15:04 used to be right here so just
15:07 think Ela freaking BR was right
15:15 here I mean for not just not just a
15:15 short time for like 800 something
15:24 shows sometimes they'll have special
15:25 packages that you can purchase uh but
15:27 for the most part it's usually VIPs if
15:30 they have some friends that were in town
15:31 or other celebrities that are in town
15:33 but um Manalo does a couple of or two of
15:36 the nights they'll do a quick meet and
15:38 greet after the show cool and the Gang
15:40 when they've performed here they they
15:42 have a party in here um cool has his own
15:44 brand of champagne we'll just leave it
15:46 that um but yeah so and then again on
15:49 with the wall anybody that uh anyone's
15:51 on the wall had performed here again
15:53 renovated but this would be something
15:55 and and we have had some photos and
15:57 videos that he had come in that Elvis
15:59 would come in here and and greet some of
16:01 the people that were in here after the
16:02 show um one thing I forgot to mention
16:04 when we were over by the the spot
16:07 backstage is you notice that the the
16:09 statue and that uh spot backstage say
16:12 that he did
16:14 837 consecutive soldout shows right
16:17 turns out that the actual number is
16:19 636 consecutive soldout shows here oh
16:22 yeah there's the sculpture that's out
16:23 front right there look at
16:27 that there it is
16:29 SAR in
16:30 Presley there
16:41 Veron all right so if you follow me
16:41 you're all going to kind of you're all
16:42 going to enter the stage and the theater
16:45 from where Alis did we actually sitting
16:46 at a
16:48 table started granted the stage was
16:51 extended a little bit still the same
16:53 stage get to hear some of his thoughts
16:56 and we do open it up for questions after
16:59 he and I chat for a while so if you have
17:01 questions these used to be booths before
17:02 they renov stage this very stage at the
17:05 International Hotel that midsummer night
17:08 was the most significant and
17:09 consequential night in his career and
17:12 forever changed the entertainment
17:13 landscape in Las Vegas that historic
17:16 initial performance was a star studed
17:18 event on both sides of the Stage IT
17:20 earned rave reviews from all over the
17:22 world and was the first of an astounding
17:24 636 consecutive soldout performances it
17:28 it was a memorable night for everyone
17:30 who was lucky enough to be here and
17:32 especially true for a very special man
17:33 who is here with us tonight he saw for
17:36 the first time the man he looked up to
17:37 as his big brother was so much more than
17:40 his brother Elvis He was the king please
17:43 welcome to the international stage David
17:46 Stanley you know I was 13 years old when
17:48 I came here um I was living in benis at
17:52 Grace Elis and Priscilla Lisa my mom and
17:56 dad de Vernon pres my stepfather
17:59 and we're at the dinner table and El
18:01 says I'm going back on last
18:04 stage he did the 68 special most of you
18:07 saw that who saw the Netflix special
18:10 that's good that's a good one because
18:13 Elvis had been on stage in eight years
18:15 so he did that he says I'm going to go
18:17 back to finally one day Elvis I mean
18:21 Vernon and D come to back to Virginia to
18:24 the boarding home we see this big winol
18:26 pull up Mom gets that course run to meet
18:29 her and greet her I had braces on my
18:31 legs cuz I was born crippled I had to
18:33 put arm feet on me so I could walk I
18:37 remember crawling out to the I almost
18:38 crawling to the car and uh we got in the
18:42 car and I said Mom where's
18:45 Daddy this is all I got I'll explain to
18:48 you someday boys but this is your new
18:50 father or this is going to be your new
18:52 father this is March of
18:54 1960 we got a new house called Grace you
18:56 got a new big brother named Elvis
18:59 I have no clue what's going on I'm hurt
19:02 where's my daddy why'd you leave me here
19:05 but we had to accept it for where it was
19:07 we got to
19:08 Memphis we drove through the gates of
19:10 the grace of mansion I looked out the
19:13 window it's my face pressed up against
19:15 the glass that the home was about to
19:16 move into my brother Ricky said I told
19:19 you someday things were going to get
19:20 better cuz he need to try to comfort me
19:22 and say that to me all the time we got
19:24 out of the car went up the steps there's
19:27 going have been 25 years old
19:30 this guy was called Elvis Presley I
19:32 thought he had a funny name I've never
19:34 heard that Elvis that's
19:36 different and he walks up to us and we
19:38 walk up to him he picks me up and Bress
19:41 me on his
19:43 shoulders and he goes to Billy Ricky and
19:45 there hugging his leg he said I've
19:46 always wanted a little brother now I
19:49 have three so you know now it's he's
19:52 been doing movies you guys are in school
19:54 and now we're in
19:55 Vegas Vegas he opened that night that
19:58 was I mean everybody was here there was
20:00 anybody um back then the showroom was a
20:03 little
20:05 bigger um I had Angels On The Wall I was
20:09 just say you know what are those angels
20:11 doing here we had somebody right here
20:13 who came and saw it was here in 69 right
20:15 oh yeah remember that energy when that
20:18 was like nothing nowhere I mean I've SE
20:22 the top the bombs explode and didn't
20:24 have the power that El did that night or
20:26 any night he was on stage cuz he was all
20:28 these wonderful things we talk about but
20:31 when he was on stage he was Elvis I mean
20:34 that's what made Elvis Elis his
20:36 Charisma um if I was walked into this if
20:38 I was got off a plane at the airport I
20:40 could feel it if he walked through that
20:43 door I'd be the only person in here
20:45 would have to introduce himself to you
20:47 number one but number two the rest of
20:49 you go oh that's why you saw him if you
20:52 ever saw him that's what carried him he
20:55 had this unbelievable gift that he
20:57 shared with the world share it with me I
20:59 was part of it it was fun yeah because
21:01 you know after obviously you know did
21:03 Vegas for a couple years and was back on
21:06 the road during tour and then you ended
21:09 up going to work for him 1972 where's my
21:12 picture of
21:12 72 well that's 67 down there at the end
21:15 look how pretty I was is I'm pretty good
21:18 looking kid too I mean I was in 77
21:22 76 Lio got out and I'm I'm just like you
21:27 know Green 16 and mean and lean and just
21:30 wow I get out and there's George
21:32 Harrison of The Beatles leaning up
21:35 against the pole just rubbing his
21:37 beard I walked up to him I just went to
21:40 the dressing room I walked up to him and
21:41 said George J stand I get to see bud I'm
21:45 you probably remember me when you came
21:47 you know I I milked it I'm not going to
21:50 lie to you and so George says can I see
21:53 El I said sure So I take George
21:56 backstage that was good to see you again
21:59 George Elvis looked at me like I'm GNA
22:01 kill
22:03 you George laugh he said don't ever
22:05 bring anybody back here before a
22:08 sure he said this is my time 10 minutes
22:11 I don't want to talk to nobody I don't
22:12 want to see anybody he got on me it
22:15 could have been worse but it was worth
22:17 it I was hanging out with George
22:18 Harrison now lots of you probably saw
22:20 the El movie and last do you hate
22:23 Colonel
22:24 Parker let me start off by saying he was
22:27 a very shrew
22:29 businessman but he got things done I
22:32 mean his product was the number one
22:34 product in the world even
22:37 today now colel was true but in the
22:41 movie they said the show El was Fallen
22:43 he's own drugs they put his head in the
22:45 bucket colel say I don't care what it
22:46 takes to St that's
22:48 I he was screw but he wasn't
22:51 like that he had a heart he used to
22:52 bring me toys every year you know before
22:54 I went to work for I was stuffed animals
22:56 RCA records ha machines Michael's death
23:00 in drugs there were exact same Prince
23:04 Whitney I have an organization that I'm
23:06 creating called race on Rock I'm a
23:09 speaker and have been a speaker for the
23:11 last 50 years I speak in colleges high
23:14 schools associations drug reab centers
23:16 on the dangerous of prescribed
23:18 medication just because the doctor given
23:20 it to you doesn't mean it's good for you
23:22 but the other side of Elvis the one we
23:25 celebrate he was he was the deal it was
23:29 the hardest thing in my life to walk in
23:30 his bathroom seeing Joe Charlie Vernon
23:34 Sandy Vernon's SI girlfriend at the time
23:37 and Elvis SL in a fet position
23:40 Dead That's The Darkest Day of My Life
23:44 And when people say if you believe El is
23:46 alive shut your fat mouth have some
23:50 respect you know I know it's fun and
23:53 else is a lot but I have people I think
23:55 he's really a lot I just you know I'm
23:57 Comm and mow and
23:59 68 years 69 years old one if they don't
24:02 leave in a second we're going to have a
24:05 casual I mean I understand people love
24:08 El and then some people I talk to well
24:10 if you love El so much why didn't you
24:12 save it did my best and then you
24:16 know how do you stop somebody you know
24:19 you can't protect them from yourself if
24:20 I've ever been around an addict you know
24:22 what I'm talking about I was was a drug
24:24 addi got hooked by doctors prescribed
24:27 medication was me years on the 16th of
24:30 August he
24:31 died Heart Attack by overdose you take
24:37 that much do your heart's going to stop
24:38 eventually and that's what happened and
24:41 I'm very truthful now I think it's great
24:44 that encourage you to
24:45 go but you know when I drive by that
24:47 house my mind goes back to
24:51 1960 driving the driveway that's your
24:54 home the guy that lived there is your
24:56 brother your step brother you know this
24:58 is your
24:59 life um when I
25:03 go you know I go through the house and
25:05 they had those things in piz and things
25:08 everybody takes it off it follows
25:11 me when I walk out the door there's 25
25:15 people but when I go what what I love
25:18 the most about bracet other than living
25:20 there is when you turn the corner and
25:23 you see all the gold records and the
25:25 platinums and the awards and
25:27 achievements
25:29 that's that that's that says it all
25:32 me another question that I think we can
25:34 do one more question okay
25:37 yeah so out of the 600 plus shows that
25:40 were here how many were you attending
25:43 and do you have any particular moments
25:45 that stand out to you being like a a
25:47 pivotal moment or something that batched
25:49 in your head in the 7 69 we came out for
25:52 the month so we did 30 shows we stayed
25:54 here the whole month 70 we came out for
25:57 a couple ofek weeks so we didn't have
25:59 those shows but 60 then 72 I'm here from
26:04 72 to 77 all the
26:07 shows so the one that stands out the
26:09 most of that first night is a 13y old
26:12 boy watching this guy rule the world
26:16 basically Los Angeles 74 L Zeppelin my
26:21 eldest was in an audience and that was
26:24 when I just threw down on it I mean holy
26:27 cow the the the for was unbelievable and
26:30 they even said we got to be good tonight
26:31 cuz let Zeppelin's here Elvis wasn't a
26:34 zeppelin fan I was a zeppelin fan two I
26:37 we tennis shoes jeans and L Little T
26:40 t-shirts I had kisss on my briefcase the
26:43 backstage f i says who the hell is kiss
26:47 it's a rock B get that sticker off that
26:49 brief why you don't work for them you
26:51 work for me look at the bottom of your
26:53 picture about
26:56 Priscilla no
26:59 no no no I love your I've always loved
27:05 her I came over in 60 she came over in '
27:09 62 we picked her up at the airport I
27:12 thought that was the most beautiful
27:13 thing I've ever
27:14 seen I used to tell her as a kid how
27:17 much I had a crush on my birthday she'd
27:19 Take Me birthday shopping Elvis would be
27:21 in LA and we be Grayson in the movie it
27:24 shows her being all by herself where
27:26 there's three little boys running around
27:27 there driving crazy cuz that's what I
27:29 remember she used to put on black eye
27:31 makeup and turn off the lights and be a
27:34 vampire Chas us around the
27:36 house um they got divorced when she left
27:41 I had I was there picking up the pieces
27:42 of all that oh I suad but I stayed in
27:46 touch with it um so it's got her truth
27:50 you know I I got to say she comes over
27:53 here she gets with Elvis if you saw the
27:55 movie prisilla
27:58 that was
27:59 accurate you may not like that oh you sp
28:03 that but that was a fact so I was
28:05 sympathetic toward her as well as I was
28:09 was um did she this did she that did she
28:11 use did she love him she loved him and
28:15 he loved her but Elvis loved everybody I
28:19 mean imagine your Elvis's wife and pride
28:23 child and 16
28:26 girlfriends and in the frame was lyrics
28:29 to the song Dream The Impossible
28:32 Dream so at the bottom of that was
28:36 broken
28:38 handwriting and the handwriting was my
28:41 dream is to meet out was
28:49 fresman when you can make a dream come
28:50 true God gave me the opportunity to make
28:52 a dream come
28:53 true you're coming with me SP goes
28:57 where's it going he's coming was made
28:58 doesn't matter he going I mean I was
29:02 bent parents of course let him go I rode
29:05 a back behind the curtain that St in the
29:06 dressing room there was a police
29:09 standing at at the door like there
29:11 always was I knocked walked in now
29:14 remember Elvis had told me don't just
29:17 come barging in
29:19 here I said wish to meet somebody I told
29:22 you David I mean him I said you need to
29:25 meet this guy I told you David fin I did
29:28 it I just brashing on you're going to
29:30 meet this
29:31 guy I was say this better be good I mean
29:35 he was he was not
29:36 happy so I went got the guy open the
29:39 door RO Elvis was looking in the mirror
29:41 coming his hair ping a scarf and he
29:45 looked in the mirror and saw the boy in
29:46 the wheelchair he roll him in I was
29:49 walked over to the boy fell on his knees
29:52 dropped his head in his lap and cried
29:54 like a 2-year-old baby he was
29:57 overwhelmed
29:58 this guy's dream was to beet Elvis bre
30:02 the GU R hold the frame Elvis I love you
30:06 thank
30:07 you wow he stood up that was cuz I told
30:12 him I said BOS we got a shutter
30:14 dude he looked at me with those piercing
30:16 blue eyes and said you take care of my
30:19 boy I said it's done roll him
30:23 out put it back in the section but
30:25 lifted him up higher on the side of the
30:27 stage
30:28 Alvis came
30:30 out 20,000 flash buubs went off at the
30:33 same time 500 young ladies rest the
30:35 stage and 2 minutes later 500 old lady
30:38 rest the
30:39 sake it was an Elvis
30:41 concert but Elvis is out there throwing
30:44 down on this guy just sit there God
30:46 bless you and thank
30:53 you that was amazing I know I went on a
30:53 little long but I'm going to leave a lot
30:54 of that in because his stories were just
30:57 stories were just amazing here's 7 this
30:59 is the year I was
31:00 born
31:11 76 I mean just it's just insane to think
31:11 about that this is it right here this is
31:13 the stage 6 and what 50
31:24 shows I just amazing man so cool it's a
31:24 little extra clutter but so this is how
31:28 the floor originally was through the
31:29 whole area it still is underneath but
31:31 yeah this was right here
31:34 here really everyone everyone is a
31:37 different because you never know you
31:39 know David has different stories and
31:41 people's questions um David will there
31:45 sometimes I hear something new that I
31:47 hadn't heard
31:58 before exit stage
31:58 out here oh really I got to do the Elvis
32:00 move and put put the hand down here
32:02 there you go oh thank you oh thank you
32:03 very
32:04 much that's what he would do he would
32:06 reach town thank you oh thank you very
32:23 mind that's okay all right as I'm
32:23 heading out of here I did ended up
32:25 talking to David and asked him if all
32:28 his brothers were still alive and he was
32:29 saying that Ricky who was older than him
32:32 which was the one that came to speak at
32:33 my school in nville Florida Rocky by
32:35 chrisan he passed away in
32:37 2019 but evidently Ricky used to live in
32:41 nville which is where I lived at that
32:42 time in the late ' 80s and I guess
32:44 that's why being a minister he came to
32:47 the Christian School to talk but I
32:50 really really enjoyed that was awesome
33:04 so I ended up talking to David for a
33:04 little while
33:06 afterwards really nice guy again I was
33:09 talking about talk how his brother came
33:11 to speak at school I used to go to in
33:15 80s and I asked him they did some
33:18 Q&A also I bought a bought a couple
33:20 things couple Elvis things also there's
33:22 really no Elvis stuff on the strip and I
33:25 think it's because no one's allowed to
33:26 use the image because I kind of figured
33:29 you'd have some Elvis stuff on t-shirts
33:31 and stuff but all the Elva stuff was at
33:34 the Westgate now maybe they have it in
33:35 other places maybe Fremont or downtown
33:37 or anything but on the strip I didn't
33:39 see much Elva stuff anyway I'll show it
33:41 in a second at the end but I asked him I
33:44 forgot to ask him the Q&A but I asked
33:45 him afterwards he was sitting at his
33:48 table if he was there in Hawaii during
33:51 the shows in Hawaii and he said yes I
33:54 was they did two t two two tapings and
33:57 he was off to the side
33:58 stage and I said one of my favorite
34:01 Elvis moments is American Trilogy from
34:05 the Hawaii Show Elvis in Hawaii and he
34:09 was there witnessing that he was there I
34:11 just thought man that is that is one of
34:13 literally the coolest
34:14 things about I don't know every 6 months
34:17 or so maybe more than that I'll throw
34:19 that out and watch that watch that clip
34:21 I highly recommend if maybe you're not
34:24 familiar with Elvis or if you are
34:26 familiar with I imagine everybody's
34:27 familiar with Elvis but if you have not
34:29 seen that to check out Elvis performing
34:32 American Trilogy in Hawaii it
34:36 is I think it might be my favorite Elvis
34:39 performance got this this little
34:41 miniature of the sculpture that is
34:44 in the
34:46 Westgate formerly the
34:48 international Elvis's returned back home
34:51 to the flamingo from viva Las Vegas and
34:53 I got this shirt this Elvis on tour
34:57 shirt
35:01 all right that's going to do it for
35:01 today thanks for watching I'll see you
35:02 in the next video the Vlog
35:05 is
35:07 over if you made it all the way to the
35:10 end if you made it all it was a long
35:11 video if you made it all the way to the
35:13 end of this I just want to say oh thank
35:16 you oh thank you very much
