0:02 welcome everyone adam the woo here as a
0:02 recording of this sunday may 15 2022
0:05 starting off in burbank at the donut
0:07 prince
0:09 small d
0:10 capital p not sure why both words are
0:12 not capitalized or
0:14 why both words are not capitalized but
0:16 the piping hot caffeinated beverage that
0:18 they sell
0:20 is
0:21 large
0:22 i'm gonna be doing some griffith park
0:24 stuff
0:25 one day a month walt's barn is open just
0:28 so happens to be today might go by the
0:31 desolate zoo that used to remain there
0:34 also the carousel that inspired
0:36 disneyland meeting up with a friend and
0:39 do a
0:40 wide variety of other things in griffith
0:42 park i'm inviting you it's just right
0:44 over there a few miles not too far to
0:46 join me
0:50 shall you and remember don't get a
0:52 divorce
0:54 get a donut i always like this car wash
0:56 sign it's an old-timey car wash here on
0:58 the corner of hollywood way
1:00 over there pretty neat and as i pull
1:02 into griffith park you notice there's a
1:03 lot of signs saying horses a lot of
1:05 horse trails up here it's also very
1:07 interesting that i always state what i'm
1:09 doing at the beginning but then i end up
1:10 doing a lot more than a plan so there'll
1:12 probably be some other stuff i don't
1:14 even know i'm going to get around to
1:15 that i'll do i'm trying to go up here
1:17 and find parking parking lot's pretty
1:18 full up here it is the weekend i don't
1:20 think i've ever seen a fruit stand up
1:22 here before but they got a fruit stand
1:23 up here by the parking yeah a lot of
1:25 people out picnicking and whatnot today
1:27 because it is a sunday it's the weekend
1:28 now i'm not going to be doing any hiking
1:29 today now i but i have in the past
1:32 traversed some of the paths
1:34 up here in the mountainous areas a lot
1:37 of people do they utilize all those
1:38 hiking trails all around griffith park
1:41 down at the bottom of hill is a carousel
1:43 as technically it's referred to as the
1:44 griffith park merry-go-round but in the
1:48 disney folklore it is known as the
1:50 carousel and that particular carousel it
1:53 is said that walt disney would show up
1:55 here with his daughters and he had a
1:58 father daughter day which inspired him
2:01 gave him the inspiration and you know a
2:03 lot of other things kind of inspired him
2:05 as well but was one of the main reasons
2:07 he wanted to build a theme park type
2:09 thing where parents could do things
2:12 you know with
2:14 with their youngans
2:15 and that's basically what inspired him
2:18 to create disneyland so the story goes
2:20 so the folklore go and there are a
2:22 couple of benches
2:24 one bench still on property
2:26 from when walt was still alive could
2:28 have been the one he sat on there's also
2:30 a couple one at disneyland and one at at
2:32 the
2:33 family museum and i believe it's san
2:36 francisco san francisco is where the
2:38 other bench is there's three benches one
2:39 here one at disneyland one the family
2:41 museum and then maybe a fourth
2:44 in a private collection somewhere so if
2:45 you're ever at disneyland which is about
2:47 30 miles south of here and want to make
2:49 the pilgrimage up to la in the burbank
2:52 area
2:53 griffith park north hollywood that whole
2:55 section
2:57 stop off here if you're into history
3:00 it's a pretty important spot when it
3:02 comes to
3:03 to that type of thing if you're into it
3:05 and bricky has arrived yes now i have to
3:08 ask have you ever been here
3:10 i thought about it i thought about it i
3:12 thought about lying and being like yes a
3:14 long time ago yeah sadly like a bunch of
3:16 dumb dumbs that live in la i don't
3:18 always take advantage of them okay and
3:20 sadly this is my first time but i've
3:23 been in here in spirit with you before
3:24 it's not sadly because you are now here
3:27 so i'm glad you have made it and you
3:29 know the history of it yes obviously
3:31 being a disney aficionado
3:33 walt here you know you know the whole
3:35 the whole story
3:36 i think we're gonna be too heavy to ride
3:37 this because i think there's like a
3:39 hundred and
3:40 fifty pound weight limit or something
3:46 i've been here a number of times never
3:46 been on it we could get on one of the
3:48 ones that doesn't have the horsey that
3:49 goes up and down
3:51 like one of the stationary ones but i
3:53 feel like i feel like that wouldn't be
3:54 worthwhile what if instead of riding it
3:57 we sat on a bench and imagined a better
4:00 future okay we could do that for
4:02 griffith park or just in general for the
4:04 world in general no like walt did when
4:06 he looked at his daughters going by yeah
4:08 we can do that i don't have i don't have
4:10 any daughters
4:11 i mean
4:12 or sons
4:14 we have to use a lot of imagination
4:21 we could do that
4:21 have you been to griffith park before i
4:23 have been okay have you ever been to the
4:25 the old zoo that's right over here i
4:26 have not we'll walk over there too and
4:28 we'll take a look at that
4:30 now for a while they did the haunted
4:32 hayride the la haunted hayride through
4:34 here in fact this is where everyone
4:35 would park and where the queue line
4:37 would begin the last two years or so
4:39 they have done it down the hill not at
4:42 the the old zoo
4:43 but the old zoo
4:45 is over this way i kind of wish they'd
4:46 bring the the hayride back you'd walk
4:48 right through here and then you'd get on
4:49 like a little hay ride and go through
4:51 the zoo
4:53 but
4:54 i guess something's going on but they
4:55 can't use this this area of the park
4:56 anymore now they did film quite a few
4:58 things here i believe they filmed some
4:59 of the tom hanks movie dragnet
5:01 also anchorman right in here a police
5:04 academy movie bobcat goldthwait
5:06 was over in this section but they just
5:08 left the old section of the zoo when
5:09 they built a new zoo still sitting there
5:11 and if you look through the spray paint
5:12 you'll see
5:13 the city zoo was open from 1912 to 65
5:17 and then it moved to the new spot so
5:18 this thing's been sitting empty for over
5:20 50 years
5:21 well over 50 years
5:24 one thing that's really interesting
5:25 about walking through this area i
5:26 wouldn't consider this hiking because
5:28 the main hills are over here but i
5:30 realize
5:31 how completely not in shape i am just by
5:34 going up slight inclines
5:36 like this just from going from the
5:37 ground level
5:39 down there i wouldn't say i'm completely
5:41 out of shape but i'm not in shape i mean
5:43 you feel it it's gravity doing its job
5:46 that's that's the best way to describe
5:47 it
5:48 do you ever see anchorman yeah there was
5:50 a scene in anchorman with the bear will
5:52 ferrell and the bear and it was like
5:54 right over in here okay it might have
5:55 been one of these other sections but it
5:57 was
5:58 kind of over in this area
6:00 it's pretty wild to think well no pun
6:03 intended because the animals were not in
6:05 the wild but it's
6:07 wild to think that
6:08 there were big animals all in here
6:43 probably a little
6:43 let's say a little tetanus
6:47 wrapped i probably shouldn't even be
6:47 touching that
6:53 oh wait i can't go this way now a few
6:53 years ago well many years ago
6:55 when i was here
6:56 kind of meandering around like this they
6:58 didn't have the locks on the gates that
6:59 you could go in there and get some good
7:00 photos wow it looks like since then
7:04 they have
7:05 kind of upped their lock
7:07 block game
7:10 because of all the tv production
7:12 or just production in general does
7:14 something like this get left in los
7:16 angeles
7:17 like why didn't this get torn down
7:19 that's a good question i don't have to
7:20 think it has anything to do with the tv
7:22 production
7:23 i don't think that they i don't think la
7:25 cares about that too much yeah
7:27 maybe but i'm gonna i'd probably say no
7:30 because it's such an unusual thing that
7:32 still have upright
7:34 because i don't even know how much is
7:35 really filmed out here right i mean
7:37 there's some stuff in the 80s
7:38 and then you know a couple things i
7:40 mentioned
7:41 but it's not like this is used as a film
7:43 set all the time
7:45 easily could be though yeah
7:48 i'm just looking for one that doesn't
7:49 have a lock on it look at all these
7:50 cobwebs
7:53 creepy
8:02 now if one wanted to it could crawl
8:02 through there
8:04 and get underneath that little thatch of
8:06 leaves
8:08 i don't want to but you could oh wait
8:10 wait wait wait
8:12 this doesn't have a lock on it but it's
8:14 it's
8:15 sealed shut
8:18 oh yeah it's been
8:19 it's been sealed up
8:28 they've torn something down that was
8:28 here
8:29 seemed to recall i hear a train
8:31 too
8:32 train's a colin there's a lot of trains
8:34 in griffith park
8:41 and this looked over here this this is
8:41 open too
8:42 this stairwell
8:57 that's pretty neat
8:59 that's something out of a horror film
9:00 yeah that's pretty picture pennywise
9:02 crawling up there
9:04 yeah if
9:05 uh a team was making a horror movie on a
9:07 budget i mean this is this is we all
9:09 float down here
9:11 oh i'm sure this is probably using a lot
9:12 of
9:13 you know independent gorilla style
9:15 filmmaking
9:17 stuff you put three guys with long hair
9:18 there and it's already your metal bands
9:20 the most shot
9:26 all right arrived over at walt's barn
9:26 area and i want to do this at some point
9:29 the little miniature train that goes by
9:37 right over here open today 11 to 3 free
9:37 admission free parking east gate live
9:39 steamers and the parking lot here is
9:41 very very full like it was tough to find
9:43 parking i found one spot that i wedged
9:45 my car into a lot of people here which
9:46 is good to see
9:48 i have not been here in a few years
9:52 pretty neat in fact the last time i was
9:54 here they unveiled
9:56 one of the ride vehicles through mine
9:58 train through nature's wonderland that
10:00 was here
10:01 i do love railroads and obviously disney
10:04 history
10:05 pretty cool
10:06 and this event is run by volunteers and
10:08 the live steamers
10:10 organization
10:12 see they got some equipment out here got
10:13 some lights now it is free admission
10:15 drop a little donation into the the
10:17 donation station and then they give you
10:21 a carol
10:23 wood
10:24 barn sticker
10:26 as well decorate your blouse
10:28 we got to do that train let's go through
10:30 there yeah i believe that's decorate
10:32 your blouse yeah
10:33 now we take the train depending on how
10:35 long the line is the train will go right
10:36 past these little miniature buildings
10:38 here the gold hotel buck saloon
10:41 there's
10:42 mines chiropractor
10:45 which is what you need when you get off
10:46 big thunder mountain railroad
10:48 no not big thunder mountain railroad
10:50 matterhorn
10:51 and it is a nice day got the wind
10:53 blowing there not only the california
10:55 republic flag the u.s flag and also the
10:58 railroad pacific flag as well which is
11:00 not waving in the breeze quite as much
11:02 but it's still waving it in its own
11:06 style
11:21 there's a little souvenir stand over
11:22 and some entertainment people recognize
11:24 music more hi how's it going i don't
11:26 know why science says that but if you're
11:28 old you will know more comments
11:30 look at some of the merch over here
11:41 yeah there goes a train right there
11:42 another train going around
11:44 definitely got to do that definitely got
11:46 to do the train and i'm also being told
11:48 this is the first day where the
11:49 miniature train is back it's like kind
11:51 of the first official day they have kind
11:54 of sort of
11:55 i know under certain regulations but
11:57 this is the first full day where it's
11:58 kind of back to normal and all the steam
12:00 up here they don't call the live
12:02 steamers for nothing
12:11 do you feel like you're just an overload
12:11 of history right now it's hitting me
12:13 back it's great
12:26 oh there it goes that's going to be us
12:26 brickie
12:27 we're going to be on there
12:35 so not only do they have the barn but
12:35 they also have the train car one of the
12:37 old train cars and it looks as if we
12:39 might be able to go inside
12:41 the old santa fe and disneyland railroad
12:45 train car we're gonna be able to go
12:47 inside there this is the 101
12:53 you just think this thing was rolling
12:53 around disneyland opening day that's
12:55 amazing you can see this in the opening
12:57 day special really yeah uh when park
13:00 what's his last name letter lake ladder
13:02 yeah he's like
13:04 and ronnie reagan he's screening people
13:05 and the train pulls off and this is the
13:07 first passenger car no kidding i think i
13:09 knew that but i forgot now i wanted to
13:11 plus things how do i make it better
13:14 so
13:15 that's cool
13:17 in fact here's some photos
13:27 okay i was incorrect in assuming you go
13:27 on the train you can just peek in though
13:29 you can't peek in but all this whole
13:31 area here with the glass cases this is
13:33 all completely new i don't remember
13:34 seeing any of this a few years ago when
13:36 i was here one of the fascinating things
13:38 is we are only like a mile away from the
13:40 original mickey mouse park where
13:41 disneyland was going to be this is some
13:43 concept art here over by the burbank
13:46 studios they were going to have a train
13:48 around there rivers of america style and
13:50 everything right where the freeway goes
13:52 through now and then of course going
13:53 down to anaheim park open at 55 this is
13:56 in 53 a reproduction of the disneyland
13:58 site plans look at this there's catella
14:00 right there okay where's harbor where's
14:03 harvard there's west street
14:05 there's ball road right up there here's
14:08 how look at this houses and citrus
14:10 groves here's a good photo of walt and
14:11 roy when they returned to marceline back
14:13 in 56 that would have been exactly one
14:16 year almost done up to the day but to
14:18 the month of disneyland opening and i
14:20 can't peek into the window of the
14:22 railroad however they have the windows
14:24 open you can kind of see the seats
14:26 down in here used to be able to walk
14:27 through here but that's been a few years
14:29 ago since i've been in here when they
14:30 were able to walk through that section
14:32 and naturally love train so that's part
14:35 of the reason there is a railroad at
14:37 disneyland and in magicking even though
14:39 magic kingdom has not reopened look at
14:41 this view master here there's even the
14:43 view master in the view master slides
14:46 right down there this is pretty neat too
14:48 a pencil case
14:50 that's a good one right there this is
14:52 still on property this little thing that
14:54 he's like standing on kalamazoo
14:56 i'm kind of curious that they still have
14:58 the ride vehicle from nature's
15:00 wonderland
15:01 still around in fact that right there is
15:03 part of nature's wonderland maybe some
15:05 other photos and i don't see nature's
15:06 wonderland in there just the
15:13 trains you know they just brought out a
15:13 vintage magic kingdom game but this is
15:15 like oh this is like original disneyland
15:18 board game that is awesome and they do
15:21 have the ollie johnston depot
15:23 over here as well
15:25 a little miniature
15:27 depot station right along the tracks as
15:29 well
15:30 a little piece of history got the names
15:33 and the concrete oh it's doing it's
15:35 doing the coding it's doing the opening
15:37 day speech oh yeah hey hear it yeah
15:40 just like over in new orleans square
15:42 yeah
15:43 well speech opening day isn't that cool
15:44 they even have a little light in the
15:46 window there yep just like the lantern
15:49 waltz apartment
15:55 well they are just doing a lot of grand
15:55 circle tours i don't know if it's a
15:56 circle it's probably more like a figure
15:57 eight but
16:03 this is so cool
16:03 oh look at that it says griffith park on
16:32 and i love it epcot they also have a
16:32 miniature train area over a world
16:34 showcase
16:36 so you got
16:38 miniature train and even bigger
16:40 miniature train and another miniature
16:42 train over there
17:05 okay we're now getting in line
17:05 to go in the barn
17:10 have fun
17:10 he's looking for the ghosts
17:25 he's in his happy place right here and
17:25 here's a pretty interesting piece so
17:27 walt disney
17:28 looked in this very piece of glasses
17:30 mirror and shaved his mustache trimmed
17:33 his trimmed his facial hair
17:35 the shaving kit's not original but the
17:37 mirror is right that's right wow
17:45 you should look at your mustache in
17:45 there
17:47 okay look at your mustache in there
17:48 that's a reenactment well your mustache
17:50 buddies you know yeah i noticed this
17:51 says all the workbenches in the barn
17:54 were hand built by walt himself so walt
17:56 was here with a hammer and nails
17:58 building this bench right here and then
18:01 over this little sink over here the sink
18:02 area all this he was in here just taking
18:05 care of business oh this must be one of
18:07 the original wooden trestle beams from
18:09 the front the old property right here
18:11 that used to like hold up the railroad
18:13 one of the original beams
18:16 i've never seen this before it's like a
18:18 whole box set featuring the lilly bell
18:20 locomotive name for lily and disney this
18:23 was like something you could buy as a
18:24 whole set with rainbow caverns
18:27 right here
18:29 remember all the old footage i never got
18:31 to ride this before my time the old
18:33 footage of like you know walt and the
18:35 other imagineers walking through walking
18:37 through this whole area
18:42 and it's free to get in
18:42 leave a little donation
18:44 the donation box but
18:55 when i walked in you mentioned this and
18:56 i nodded in agreement and you're like
18:57 this is the smallest train station i've
18:59 ever seen i was like yeah yeah yeah
19:00 because i thought you were talking about
19:02 this mail pouch tobacco thing over here
19:05 i didn't realize that you were talking
19:07 about where they store the look at this
19:09 thing it's the scale
19:11 it's like waist high
19:13 okay walk the hundred or so yards
19:16 over here to the la livestreamers
19:18 railroad museum exhibit of scale
19:19 railroad open every sunday now walt's
19:22 barn is only open once a month
19:24 and i have purchased an ice cold bottle
19:27 of water here
19:29 first street bottle of water and a
19:30 little memento here a little souvenir
19:32 this whole area is awesome
19:35 i think it's been a couple years since i
19:36 rode this train even longer since i've
19:38 been to the barn
19:40 a lot of different things you can buy
19:42 here too they also used to do a haunt
19:44 event here called the ghost train but
19:45 they haven't done that in a long time
19:46 good for one round trip from new
19:49 sherwood station los angeles livestream
19:52 railroad museum bought not volunteer
19:53 non-profit organization solely by
19:56 membership dues
19:57 one ride
19:59 special
20:00 excursion
20:02 all right we're going to be sitting
20:04 almost in the front so that can is like
20:05 a conductor that you call them
20:08 a conductor engineer train guy engineer
20:10 train guy so you're sitting in the front
20:11 i'm going to sit right behind you right
20:13 and you're just sitting right along the
20:15 ground so your feet are just kind of
20:16 straddled here and i was also informed
20:18 this is not the first day that the
20:21 trains are back this is the third
20:23 weekend they are doing it so it was
20:25 misinformed about that
20:27 asked
20:28 the workers here they said this is the
20:29 third time they said it is still kind of
20:31 new if you watch my video it's the first
20:33 weekend it's your first weekend
20:35 i'm sticking with the first story we
20:37 were told okay all right
20:39 but in reality this is like the third
20:41 weekend but it's the first time
20:43 i don't know so even walt's the waltz
20:45 barn has been open a couple times so
20:47 just disregarding anything i say we were
20:49 we've been misconstrued stories and i
20:52 like that they have this says west to
20:53 east the direction of travel is from the
20:55 east
20:56 to the west and sherwood is an elevation
20:58 of 474 feet above and they make some
21:01 announcements to keep your hands really
21:03 close
21:04 to your torso i made this mistake a few
21:06 years ago when i put my camera out a
21:08 little too far and i injured my hand
21:10 because there are like water poles and
21:12 holes right along the edge
21:15 trust me
21:18 ricky do not put your hands outside of
21:20 the train
21:21 i learned from experience the hard way i
21:23 bruised my hands
21:49 so see these pipes right here yeah that
21:49 will definitely your hand will buckle
21:51 against those
22:54 used to have another haunt event down
22:54 here too called boney island which was
22:56 awesome
22:57 kind of kitschy really cool thing i hope
22:59 they bring that back this year for
23:01 september and october it was located all
23:04 down in here
23:16 this is
23:16 that kid and barbie in there dusty shark
24:26 it's a race it's a train race
24:26 another one going by over there oh they
24:28 got the horn on there
24:53 there's the saloon
24:55 meals
24:56 railroad general office the bank another
24:59 office western union the hardware store
25:25 keep those hands back
25:25 now i've also heard a rumor this is the
25:26 same train track if you've ever seen the
25:28 steve martin movie the jerk oh yeah that
25:31 he's on
25:32 and
25:33 was it bernadette peters yeah but she's
25:36 babysitting
25:37 this is the the track that the youth is
25:40 like running around
25:41 on
25:42 i've always heard that
25:44 i've never confirmed it rich can we get
25:46 some of the new wine he hates these kids
25:50 wow i always remember the guy who hated
25:52 the cans
25:54 he was the doctor in flesh
26:07 just the sights and the sounds
26:07 of the railroad
26:08 miniature railroad doesn't get much
26:10 better than this the weather is perfect
26:15 oh that's so cool
26:23 this must be where they work on all the
26:23 miniature shrines
26:29 wow
26:29 look at that with the smoke
26:45 well worth the time and the money
26:45 only a few bucks
26:47 that's why i was sitting you see just
26:49 how
26:50 low down it is
26:52 to miniature railroad and since we're in
26:54 the area
26:55 travel town museum
26:58 this is free you don't have to pay to
26:59 get in this
27:01 i love griffith park
27:06 look at this relic
27:06 i can't believe this is still sitting
27:08 old number 28 wow
27:11 san francisco trolley car cable car i
27:13 always say
27:15 trolley car but in reality it's a cable
27:17 car
27:18 one of the famed san francisco cable
27:21 cars first cable car operated in 1873.
27:25 and i recently last august
27:27 went and did
27:28 a week or so in san francisco and was
27:31 able to finally ride the cable cars
27:34 not a trolley car i always make that
27:36 mistake it's not a trolley it's a cable
27:38 it was so cool
27:40 and this thing used to run up and down
27:41 the tracks a couple different streets so
27:43 they have the cable cars
27:48 you ever been on a cable car san
27:50 francisco i have it's pretty cool big
27:52 bowl of rice-a-roni it was great yeah i
27:53 kind of figured since i was on a train
27:55 kick you might as well just stop off
27:57 please do not
27:59 dot dot dot climb on top the side or
28:00 underneath any of the trains
28:03 or exhibits oh they have it
28:05 kind of roped off over there with
28:07 caution tape that's interesting i guess
28:09 they don't want anyone up on that little
28:11 area anymore
28:12 you ever jumped the train i've never
28:13 done train jumping
28:15 i never have you yes lots of times lots
28:18 of times lots of times really yeah it
28:20 sounds very dangerous it is super
28:22 dangerous it's one of the dumbest things
28:23 i did when i was young where'd you go
28:25 how far did you go so we used to jump on
28:27 the trains over by the university of
28:28 louisville and we'd ride across a bridge
28:30 on the ohio river and when you jump off
28:33 you've got to hit the ground running and
28:34 then you'll just run but if you don't
28:36 holy cow very did you ever sit in one of
28:38 the train cars and like paul reubens
28:41 jumped in with you and you started
28:42 singing jimmy crack corn no we never did
28:43 a jimmy crack corn never got to eat
28:45 beans out of a can you were saying on
28:47 the way in that you had forgotten how
28:49 big a full-size train really is we've
28:51 been looking at these little baby walt
28:53 disney trains all day and then you see a
28:55 real one you're like wow it's a big
28:57 vehicle and then the disneyland railroad
28:58 is what a third scale yeah yeah a third
29:01 i don't ever see full-sized trains
29:03 anymore and even when you're caught at a
29:05 railroad they're so far away from your
29:07 car dollywood you gotta go to dollywood
29:09 i don't know if it's a full-size trade
29:11 but it has to be at least a 80
29:14 45th
29:15 tray
29:16 full-size steam train you have to wear
29:19 glasses on really where the embers will
29:21 get in your eyes oh wow you have to go
29:24 to dollywood
29:25 that train
29:26 is legit is opryland still a thing
29:30 i don't know if it is
29:31 and fun fact there was a columbo episode
29:33 and a couple music videos that took
29:35 place out here but peter falk
29:38 was using his columbo like research
29:40 skills out here in the classic
29:41 television episode
29:43 near one of these trains that is a big
29:45 this is number 26.
29:47 oh big number 26
29:49 engine 26
29:51 western pacific
29:53 railroad i mean
29:55 this comes up to my neck these wheels
29:58 well maybe my upper chest yeah this is
30:01 pretty much disneyland railroad right
30:02 here but full size
30:07 it almost looks like pretty identical
30:07 right same color pattern
30:10 obviously a lot bigger
30:17 i don't recall this one being here
30:17 back in the day
30:19 this might be a new a new addition
30:28 the scale of this building that we're in
30:28 is unbelievable like this train house
30:30 that we're in
30:31 is such this is a just a massive scale
30:35 everything
30:37 i think how many people drive down the
30:39 freeway don't even know this is just
30:40 right off to their side that was one of
30:42 them
30:43 okay now this is stanchioned off says
30:45 authorized personnel only
30:48 but this their last year was the
30:50 anniversary of this this dining car 3669
30:53 union pacific dining car the centennial
30:56 100 years so it's now 101 years old
30:59 the centennial dining car here
31:03 it was one of the first
31:05 all steel 36 seat diners built by the
31:08 pullman company
31:15 is the
31:15 diamond floor still on sunset
31:18 oh the restaurant yeah on sunset i think
31:20 so it's like a hot dog place yeah
31:24 what would you say that what do you
31:26 think that does
31:27 it probably is like a tow motor that
31:30 could like tow a train in neutral to
31:32 whatever track that it needs to be on
31:34 that's what i'm assuming it would be
31:43 still tons of trains
31:44 active today
31:45 i know because when i'm traveling you go
31:47 through these rural areas you just see
31:48 trains everywhere you don't notice them
31:50 as much in the cities
31:52 we get out when you can see from miles
31:53 across the desert plains there's trains
31:55 10 miles away
31:57 off across the horizon it's pretty
31:59 awesome most affordable way domestically
32:02 to run cargo
32:04 this is also one of the few places where
32:05 you're allowed
32:07 to walk on the tracks
32:08 you really don't want to walk on
32:10 railroad tracks it's frowned upon
32:12 i mean i know when i was younger with
32:13 the thing to do well i lost my balance
32:16 so i try to walk along this
32:18 you don't really want to do that
32:20 because you never know you can have a
32:21 stand by me moment you want to see a
32:22 dead body here's another trolley car oh
32:25 yeah bare bones
32:28 to different type of seating yeah
32:29 compared to the fancy san francisco one
32:31 this is very bare bones
32:33 there goes another train
32:35 going by right now over across that way
32:42 i do notice though the exhibit hall
32:42 which has been open in the past
32:44 is closed down so the exhibit hall has
32:46 not reopened
32:48 in fact it says building closed right
32:54 they had a few other artifacts in there
32:54 last time it's been a couple years since
32:55 i've been in there there's a sign on the
32:57 other side for the exhibit that's coming
32:59 oh yeah crazy train a tribute to randy
33:01 rhodes it's going to be awesome
33:04 i never know when you're joking or
33:05 telling the truth all right i'll do the
33:07 outro right here it's a good place as
33:08 any
33:09 that's going to do it for today with
33:10 bricky adventures in design
33:13 today adventures and trains
33:19 right yeah yeah i mean it was an
33:19 unbelievable day trains of all sizes all
33:21 scales small trains full-size trains i
33:24 had no idea what i was even going to be
33:25 getting into today
33:26 you were free for a bit i said this have
33:28 you ever been to walt's bar and he said
33:29 no
33:30 you drove over met up with you
33:33 we did the barn we did the miniature
33:35 train we did train town we do anything
33:36 else uh no that's probably enough that's
33:39 it and we did a lot of things today due
33:41 to volunteers that helped keep all this
33:43 stuff going so shout out to the
33:44 volunteers who put time into keeping
33:47 different parts of the disney story
33:48 alive one day a month one day a month
33:51 i'll see you the next video the vlog is
33:54 over
