0:06 Oh, are you guys in there? Is anyone
0:06 inside? Anyone inside there? Welcome
0:09 everyone. Adam the Woo
0:12 here. I don't know where I was going
0:14 with that intro. It's my second channel,
0:16 Daily Vlog channel. It's the Daily Woo
0:19 and I'm in my van and I'm going to tell
0:21 you a little story today. It's story
0:23 time, everyone. Yesterday, Justin Scard
0:25 and I, we ventured out to the desert of
0:28 California, and we wanted to check out
0:30 an abandoned
0:32 location. And I didn't want I don't want
0:34 to give too many specifics about the
0:35 abandoned location, but we visited this
0:38 massive abandoned location. And it
0:41 worked out pretty well because there was
0:43 a couple places I wanted to check out
0:45 yesterday. And Justin always is saying,
0:47 "I would like to go with you on an
0:49 abandoned adventure." because he's kind
0:53 of like never really been on a lot of
0:55 abandoned adventures before. So, I said,
0:58 "Hey, come along with me." I embraced
1:00 his idea. So, we jumped in this van. We
1:03 cruise out to the California desert and
1:05 things went a little bit ary yesterday.
1:09 We filmed a vlog on his channel, Justin
1:12 Scard. Just
1:14 YouTube/Justinscard. It was a vlog where
1:16 we found this boat in the middle of the
1:18 desert. We climbed the top of this real
1:19 big steep hill, almost a mountainous
1:21 region, and he filmed this vlog of this
1:24 boat. Pretty funny vlog, kind of random
1:26 and impulsive. And then after that,
1:29 shortly after that, 30 to 45 minutes
1:31 after that vlog was
1:34 filmed, things went a little arai, you
1:36 could say. Luckily, they did not go too
1:38 far
1:39 aai. And I don't know what could have
1:42 happened. When you do abandoned places,
1:45 you're always taking a chance.
1:47 especially an abandoned place that no
1:49 one else has filmed. This is what this
1:51 was. This was kind of a place that no
1:53 one else has documented. There's not a
1:55 lot of information online
1:58 about this
2:00 particular property. So, you never know
2:02 if someone is living there, if the
2:05 property is not completely abandoned, if
2:08 someone is standing there with a
2:10 shotgun, an owner or a property
2:14 caretaker. So, a lot of this stuff when
2:16 you do abandoned stuff is really you're
2:19 kind of taking a chance. So, people are
2:21 always saying, "Do more abandoned stuff.
2:22 Do more abandoned stuff. Do more
2:24 abandoned stuff. Do more abandoned
2:25 stuff." And as much as I love abandoned
2:27 stuff, you always have to tread lightly
2:29 and take abandoned location suggestions
2:32 with a grain of salt because when you
2:35 show up to one, you never know what is
2:37 going to be around the corner. And that
2:39 is what happened yesterday. basically
2:41 pulled up to this abandoned property,
2:42 this massive acres and acres and acres
2:45 of this abandoned property in the
2:46 desert. And it's been closed for six,
2:49 maybe even seven years from its original
2:52 operating
2:53 procedures. And it used to be a place
2:55 where a lot of people went and spent a
2:58 lot of
2:58 money. And everything according to
3:01 Google Earth, excuse me, is still there
3:04 except it's deteriorating. You look on
3:06 Google Earth, you can see everything
3:07 deteriorating.
3:09 There's one thing on Google Earth that I
3:11 found though from last year where it
3:13 looked like there was a trailer that had
3:14 been placed on the property. So I
3:16 thought maybe there is a caretaker
3:17 there. So basically the way I surveyed
3:20 the area is drove around the perimeter
3:23 of the property. Drove around the back
3:25 end through this really sketchy desert
3:28 road up to the tippy top of the
3:32 property. I really apologize for this
3:34 for this
3:35 uh crazy glare, this shadow I have. You
3:40 know what I'm going to do? I'm going to
3:41 turn off right up here and get this sun
3:43 out of our face. So,
3:45 basically, we drove around the
3:48 perimeter. Didn't look like there was
3:50 anyone on the property. The property was
3:52 elevated above the rest of the road, the
3:55 desert roads. So if there was someone on
3:58 the property, if they were scouring the
4:00 countryside for people that were going
4:03 to try to either film or just maybe go
4:05 on their property and snoop around, they
4:07 had a very good bird's eyee view. And
4:09 this came back to be our demise. So
4:12 Justin and I parked probably about a
4:14 mile, let's say about a mile, maybe a
4:17 little shy of a mile, 3/4 of a mile to a
4:19 mile away from the front gate. that way.
4:22 I didn't want anyone seeing a van, this
4:25 van sitting there at the front gate and
4:27 then call the police or get a hint that
4:31 we were actually on the property. So, we
4:34 walked about a mile and the way I pretty
4:36 much operate when I film an abandoned
4:39 place is I make no bones about the fact
4:41 that I am actually going in there. So,
4:43 basically, I took my camera. I have my
4:45 camera back at the house now, but I took
4:46 my camera. I had this I have one of
4:48 those little dead cat things now. Not a
4:50 real dead cat, but one of those those
4:52 little like fluffy mechanisms you put on
4:54 a microphone to keep the wind down. I
4:55 bought one of those the other day uh at
4:58 a camera place around here in close to
5:00 LA. So, I was trying that out. So, I had
5:03 my camera, I had my camera bag, Justin
5:06 had his camera, I had my tripod walking
5:09 extended. We were walking down kind of a
5:11 main thoroughare in the desert towards
5:12 this abandoned location. And look,
5:16 everything looked good. And the reason I
5:18 do that is because I want people to
5:19 know. I want people to stop me before I
5:21 go in an abandoned place because you
5:23 never know if a place is completely
5:24 abandoned or completely desolate or
5:27 people are living there or are watching
5:29 over the property or maybe a new owner
5:31 has bought it and doesn't want people
5:32 snooping around. You never really know
5:34 the situation till you actually get
5:35 there. So we were walking. I was
5:39 thinking, well, someone hopefully will
5:40 stop us. Somebody somebody will stop us.
5:42 Somebody will stop us. Somebody will
5:44 stop us. Nobody stopped us. We get up to
5:46 the front gate. We turn to walk up this
5:49 hill towards the property. There is a
5:52 gate
5:53 there. And there is a guy, a man that
5:57 looks like he could win an arm wrestling
6:00 battle with Charles Bronson. This guy
6:03 was John Wayne times
6:05 10. He was an older gentleman, but this
6:08 guy I would not want to mess with. He
6:11 was he was he was a real man. Let's just
6:13 put it that way. He was driving this old
6:16 beat up I think it was a Chevy truck and
6:19 he was just sitting there mean mugging
6:21 and staring at us and I am not trying to
6:24 sugarcoat anything. So I basically
6:26 walked up. Justin was beside me and I
6:28 said, "Hello, sir. Are you the property
6:30 owner?" And he said, "Yes, I am the
6:31 property owner." And I said, "Oh, I
6:32 travel around the country. I take
6:33 pictures and I film little videos of
6:35 abandoned locations." And he promptly
6:38 said, "This is not an abandoned
6:39 location." Well, it actually is an
6:41 abandoned location because it's
6:43 abandoned from his original use. But
6:45 then he informed me. I said, and then I
6:48 said, "Do you mind if I go take some
6:50 pictures?" And he goes, "Not up top." So
6:52 I said, "Okay, sir. I understand you
6:54 letting you letting us know we're not
6:56 allowed on the property." And he then he
6:57 said, "The police are always out here.
7:00 The police are always out here with
7:01 guns. They're shooting guns."
7:03 So, this kind of like frightened Justin
7:06 and I a little bit, but I kept my calm,
7:08 kept the conversation going. I do not
7:10 film any of the conversation. Sometimes
7:13 I will turn my camera on, but it all
7:15 happened so fast I forgot to record the
7:17 situation. And I always think I don't
7:20 want to secretly record someone when
7:23 sometimes people actually grant you
7:25 access to places. I didn't want to be on
7:27 the cusp of actually being able to be
7:29 granted access to this location and then
7:32 him realize I was filming and then his
7:34 attitude change. So, I decided not to
7:36 film it. Looking back on it now, I kind
7:38 of wish I would have had some footage to
7:40 show you guys of of what actually
7:44 happened. But that is not the crescendo
7:46 of the story. After he told us all this
7:49 information and a sad trombone went off
7:52 in my head, wamp wamp wamp. We had just
7:55 drove an hour and a half, maybe 2 hours
7:59 out of the way and then walked a mile
8:01 out of the way to go to a place that we
8:03 were not going to be documenting at all.
8:05 And of course, Justin was let down
8:07 because he wanted to see this abandoned
8:09 place. I'm not going to mention what the
8:10 place is because then other people will
8:12 go and probably bother this guy. And he
8:15 does not want people on the property. I
8:17 assure you, he does not want people on
8:20 the property. And here's the twist. So
8:22 basically afterwards I shook his hand. I
8:25 said, "Nice meeting you, sir." He told
8:26 me his name. I told him, "My name is
8:28 Adam." He told me his name. His grip was
8:30 like something that like Popeye would be
8:33 proud of. He was his grip for an older
8:36 gentleman was like a vice grip. And I
8:39 think he had a lot of respect. The fact
8:41 that I walked up to him. I did not try
8:43 to run away. I walked right up. I
8:46 announced who I was, what I was doing.
8:48 And then as Justin and I walked off,
8:50 this is when it got really weird. He sat
8:52 there. So, we're walking down this
8:54 desert road about another mile. As we
8:57 are walking down this desert road, a car
9:00 approaches us while his truck is still
9:03 on the property line. A car approaches
9:05 us, pulls off maybe 30 feet behind us,
9:09 gets out, opens his trunk creepily like,
9:13 and is kind of looking around. I didn't
9:15 even want to look at the guy with the
9:16 trunk open. Justin's like, "A guy just
9:18 randomly pulled over for no reason in
9:20 our vicinity and he's opening a trunk."
9:23 And this guy was, the other guy, the
9:24 property owner, was saying about there's
9:26 police presence. There are people out
9:27 here with guns. They're shooting stuff
9:29 all the time. Stay off my land. Stay off
9:31 my land. So, our pace quickened as we
9:35 walk up to my van. And my van was
9:37 probably another half mile from where
9:39 this opening of the trunk escapade
9:41 happened. We get to my van. We get to my
9:45 van and on my windshield. This is no
9:48 exaggeration. On my windshield are
9:52 these. Now, what are these exactly? When
9:55 I first saw them, I thought it was a
9:57 note written to us. I thought it was
9:59 photos of us walking up to the property.
10:02 But in reality, these are photos of the
10:07 police officers shooting guns and on the
10:11 property that we were
10:13 about to trespass and walk on and film.
10:19 And they are dated early this year
10:22 and late last year. So look at this.
10:27 1218 2015. And of course, this one's a
10:30 little more recent. This is only gosh
10:33 112 which was very recently a few days
10:36 ago
10:38 112 2016. And you can see there's the
10:41 back of the gentleman's truck. There are
10:43 the police officers up the hill which
10:45 they might have been there if we would
10:46 have walked up there. And here's another
10:49 shot. Look at these guys. They're fully
10:50 armed. They have their vests
10:53 on. Who knows what they are doing up
10:55 there. Maybe that is why he did not want
10:58 us on the property. Now, this story is
11:00 kind of long-winded and I wasn't even
11:01 going to talk about this and then I got
11:03 to thinking. A lot of people are always
11:04 saying do a ban and stuff. And if you
11:07 choose to do a ban and stuff, I have
11:09 some tips for you. When you go to a
11:12 location, don't sneak around. Try to be
11:15 obvious on what you are doing. Try to
11:17 make it known that you are up to no
11:19 harm. Most property owners do not want
11:22 people going in there with crowbars or
11:24 spray paint or people trying to
11:26 basically loot the place or pull copper
11:29 out of the walls. If you walk up with a
11:31 very nice professional camera, a tripod,
11:35 a nice
11:36 microphone, usually you can actually
11:39 talk your way out of something. And
11:41 sometimes, this has happened many times
11:42 in the past, you can get permission. And
11:44 I really want to thank that guy who I
11:46 will not name his name or his property
11:48 out of respect to him. I have to thank
11:50 him for being so kind for not arresting
11:53 me and Justin. That would have been a
11:56 heck of a first abandoned location video
11:58 for Justin to go to jail or to call the
12:02 police and have to deal with that whole
12:03 rigomearroll. So, it worked out very
12:05 well. Quite the experience. These photos
12:09 are pretty insane. And I didn't know how
12:12 to react when I saw these. Justin was
12:14 sitting over here and I was like, "What
12:16 the heck is on my window?" They were
12:17 right there on my window.
12:19 And as I opened the window and actually
12:23 I actually opened the door and walked
12:24 out and grabbed them, I did not know how
12:26 to react to them. It was very took me
12:28 back and I I kind of had a lot of
12:31 respect for the old guy. So here's what
12:32 I am thinking. Did he put the photos on
12:36 my van before we approached him? Or did
12:41 he pass us as we were looking at the guy
12:44 with the trunk opened? Lord knows what
12:46 that guy was doing. I don't even want to
12:48 know. And did he drive and then put
12:51 these on my van after? He was thinking I
12:54 was hesitant in believing that there was
12:56 police presence on the property. A very
12:59 peculiar thing. The thing about these
13:01 vlogs is sometimes I go film abandoned
13:03 places on these vlogs or theme parks or
13:05 roadside attractions or movie locations
13:07 or I talk about personal stuff. This is
13:09 a personal thing because this was kind
13:12 of dramatic. I started to think I really
13:15 do not know need another legal another
13:18 legal thing on my past not history but I
13:23 do not need another legal aspect.
13:26 Another thing too it's interesting I
13:27 mentioned this before is abandoned
13:29 places are abandoned and they are owned
13:32 normally even though a building is
13:34 abandoned property is owned by someone.
13:37 And here is a major point that most
13:40 people need to realize when they film an
13:42 abandoned place. When you go on
13:44 someone's property and you're sneaking
13:46 around and no one is there and you're
13:47 filming this huge abandoned building,
13:50 you have to realize that after your
13:51 footage is on the internet, you have now
13:54 proven that you were there. So, expect
13:58 to get some recourse and the
14:01 expectations. Reap what you seow. You
14:04 have
14:05 to make sure you know the risk versus
14:09 the reward. In this case, the risk
14:12 worked out and that we did not actually
14:14 get the short end of the stick. So, one
14:17 last look at these weird photos. Look at
14:18 these. These are pretty crazy. This
14:20 photo
14:26 here and then this photo right
14:27 here. Pretty crazy.
14:29 So, our desert adventure, part one of
14:32 our desert adventure did not work out
14:35 the way we thought it was going to work
14:36 out. But luckily, I had a part two. I
14:39 had another secondary video planned and
14:41 that one actually was accomplished. In
14:44 fact, I will be editing that tonight and
14:45 probably uploading that tomorrow. A new
14:49 awesome video Justin Scarard from Live
14:51 Fast and I did. Check out his sometimes
14:54 vlog that he did yesterday on
14:56 YouTube/Justenscard. We found this weird
14:58 abandoned boat out in the middle of the
14:59 desert. So check out his channel and
15:02 tell him. You could even say, "Woo,
15:05 thankfully you're not in a jail cell
15:06 right now with Adam because that would
15:08 be at least I wouldn't be lonely hanging
15:09 out with Justin. We would kind of
15:11 protect each other from whatever the
15:14 whatever happens in there. All right,
15:17 I'm going to let you guys go. Thanks for
15:19 watching this very incoherent rambling
15:21 vlog. Remember what I said about
15:22 abandoned places. And remember this when
15:24 you're always saying go to more
15:26 abandoned places, more abandoned places,
15:27 more abandoned places. I try to go as
15:29 many as I can, but you always have to
15:32 tread lightly, especially when you don't
15:34 have legit permission to film somewhere
15:36 because you never know, especially when
15:38 you're out of your element and you're
15:39 out in the middle of nowhere, especially
15:40 in the desert because some places in the
15:42 desert or in non, you know,
15:44 non-populated areas, some places look
15:47 like they might be abandoned and someone
15:49 might be living in that house or that
15:51 building or that establishment that you
15:53 thought was abandoned. It may just be
15:56 run down and people just are living in
15:58 that rundown place. And you never also
16:00 another thing is terrifying too. He was
16:02 even saying what if we walked on some
16:03 kind of like drug farm or something and
16:06 they shot us, you know, like Justin's
16:08 very paranoid. I am used to this whole
16:10 abandoned thing. I'll pretty much grab
16:11 the bull by the horns and walk into
16:13 anywhere. But it was interesting seeing
16:15 his point of view and he is right. You
16:17 never know what you're going to stumble
16:20 upon. Just like this vlog, you never
16:22 know. Like a box of chocolates, you
16:23 never know what you're going to get. As

16:50 foot to try to keep your pledge at at
16:53 least $5 or less$1 to5. That way
16:57 everyone can help out and it becomes
16:59 like this whole like circle of goodness
17:01 to where it is on the low end and no one
17:04 is really breaking their bank account to
17:06 help out. Yet we're all going to
17:08 different places. We're experiencing
