0:04 Welcome everyone. Adam the Woo here as a
0:04 recording of this Saturday, the last day
0:07 of May. Saturday, May 31st, 2025.
0:12 Starting off here backside of art deco
0:15 7-Eleven here in Celebration, Florida.
0:18 Got my piping hot caffeinated beverage.
0:20 Mike Dirts turn up the base green day
0:24 roast, which they have almost every time
0:27 I'm in here, they're out of it. But
0:29 today got lucky enough to try
0:37 it. Oh, it got a little uh Mike little
0:38 Mike D flavor right there. Bass player
0:41 Green Day. One of the reasons is to
0:44 really be influenced by the early era of
0:47 that band way back in the day. You know,
0:50 Kplunk, Dookie, Up to
0:54 Warning, Somniac, Nimrod, loved those
0:59 albums. When I started playing bass, I
1:01 used to pick up the bass guitar and play
1:03 along with with Warning off the Warning
1:05 album. It was one of the first songs I
1:06 ever learned. and Geek Stink Breath was
1:10 the first ever song that I learned to
1:13 play on bass guitar. So, cheers to you.
1:18 Early era Mike Dirt. Look at
1:26 this. It's always reminds me of that
1:26 scene from Frankenstein where it's like
1:29 on the shoreline of the lake there and
1:31 he finds the little girl.
1:33 I don't know why it gives me that gives
1:36 me that thought process.
1:42 Today I am heading over to St. Pete to
1:42 Tropicana Field. Of course, the Tampa
1:44 Bay Rays. I am wearing an appropriate
1:46 hat, but it's on it's on backwards. Are
1:49 having a the Rays are not in town. They
1:51 are currently in Houston. Last night,
1:54 they lost to the Astros 2 to1. The day
1:57 before that, they annihilated the Astros
2:00 so that the series is tied up. They are
2:02 not playing at Tropicana Field even if
2:04 they were here in Central Florida or
2:07 Florida. They're playing over at Stein
2:09 Burner Field. But there is a heavy
2:11 strong rumor. I think there might have
2:12 even been an announcement that in future
2:14 years, maybe next year or the year
2:16 after. I don't think it'll happen next
2:17 year, the Rays will be playing again at
2:20 Tropicana Field. And I haven't been
2:22 there in a long time. They're having a
2:24 huge yard sale in the parking lot of
2:28 Tropicana Field. So, I'm heading over
2:30 there. Hopefully, I4 westbound is kind.
2:33 This is a long intro. I'm going to get
2:35 moving. I'm inviting you to join me.
2:37 Look at this. It's an appropriate
2:38 t-shirt right here. Grim Reaper holding
2:41 a pour in a cup of Joe. Join me. Let's
2:44 get over to St. Pete. Also, might hit
2:46 some record stores over there and some
2:48 thrift shops. Who knows where the day
2:50 leads. Join
2:52 me, shall you? Whoa. Is this true? an
2:57 hour and 16
3:04 minutes. What the heck? I mean, it is a
3:04 Saturday and it's only 10:45, so it'll
3:07 be a couple hours before traffic starts
3:09 to get a little bumper to bumper. Also,
3:12 they have widened I4 westbound from the
3:16 Celebration I4 interchange where the
3:19 Mickey Power Pole is from three lanes to
3:22 four lanes once you get a couple miles
3:24 down past 27. and then it starts to
3:26 bottleneck again. That could be why. But
3:29 I think it's just because it's a
3:30 Saturday morning and it's not after the
3:33 hour of noon yet. I'm going to try to
3:35 get if I can get over there in an hour
3:37 and a 15. Let's say even an hour and a
3:39 half. That would be maybe the best time
3:42 ever. I'm for it. Let me get moving. On
3:44 a normal day, a normal weekday about 2
3:47 and 1/2. Well, two, let's call it 2
3:49 hours. On a really bad day, if traffic's
3:52 backed up, 2 and 1/2 hours. But even on
3:55 a good day, it's usually two hours. So,
3:58 I will take an hour and 15. Let's call
4:01 it an hour and a half commute. Mickey
4:03 Powerball. I'll take it. Let's do this.
4:07 Doesn't say anything about rain or
4:09 shine. Just says Tropicana Field Charity
4:12 Yard Sale today, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
4:16 Lot 7. I don't know how the weather
4:19 might do. What might affect it, though?
4:21 We'll see. Uh-oh. Little bit of a
4:23 bottleneck. Little bit of a slowdown in
4:26 Plant City. Don't get discouraged, Big
4:27 the Foot. It's just a little little
4:30 slowdown. I think we're still on par for
4:32 the time it said it would
4:39 take
4:39 possibly. I think it's just this little
4:41 section. We'll see. We'll see. Second
4:43 backup is over here getting through the
4:47 Eore Tampa corridor.
4:51 Still on par to make it there in about
4:52 an hour and a half, which is not bad.
4:54 Only a couple
4:56 backups. We're passing through Eore now.
4:59 Tampa Skyline over there. I'm going to
5:00 be going past Tampa, though. I'm on my
5:03 way to St.
5:05 Petersburg. Cross the Bay Bridge. I've
5:08 been over it in a while. Yeah, that's
5:10 quite the side over there. Tropicana
5:13 field with no roof. Torn off last year
5:16 during the
5:18 hurricane. Now, this is a fundraiser for
5:21 the
5:29 truck. Look at
5:30 that. So, the rumor mill says that next
5:33 year the Rays are going to be playing
5:34 back at Tropicana Field. I don't feel
5:37 like that's going to happen. If I was a
5:39 betting man, I'd say they're going to be
5:40 at Steinbrunner again next year. They're
5:43 probably going to do one more year at
5:44 Steinbrunner and then figure it out from
5:46 there. But, who
5:48 knows? They're all out of everything.
5:50 They're out of everything. That's what
5:51 someone told us. They're all out. Okay.
5:54 I see people walking out with no bags.
5:56 All right. Thank you. I was just told
5:59 they're out of everything. Supposed to
6:01 go till
6:01 2:00. It is 12:17. Took me an hour and a
6:06 half. So, I guess they're out of
6:08 everything. Supposed to go till 2:00.
6:09 But good turnout. Not really looking for
6:12 anything in particular. I just wanted a
6:14 reason to come to come over to the trop
6:16 again. This whole parking lot is so
6:18 full. That is great that this many
6:21 people are turning out. I guess they had
6:23 a deal that you could buy a $20 raised
6:25 bag and fill the whole thing up with
6:27 whatever merchandise they
6:28 had. Pretty good
6:37 deal. I'll check it out either way.
6:38 Still going on till 2. It's only
6:39 12:18. Made it all the way over here, so
6:42 why not? There's a record store not far
6:43 from here, too, that I might go check
6:44 out. Hey, all this traffic is bringing
6:46 back memories of all the games at the
6:48 Trop I went to after they were over
6:50 trying to get the Mass Exodus out of
6:57 here. There's also some very
6:57 strong speculation
7:00 that there's some people in Orlando that
7:03 are putting throwing their hat into the
7:05 ring to try to move the Rays over to
7:06 Orlando. I would be 100% on board for
7:09 that just because I live closer to
7:11 Orlando than I do to Tampa St. Pete. To
7:14 say they're out of everything is
7:15 completely an understatement. I mean,
7:17 everything, all the merchandise,
7:19 anything part of the garage yard parking
7:23 lot sale has been erased from existence.
7:25 There is nothing left at all. Now,
7:28 they're still continuing the event until
7:30 2:00 p.m. They do have some people out
7:33 making little balloon animals to give to
7:35 people. They were still they were still
7:38 selling tickets. a guest part of the $20
7:40 all you can take in all you can shove in
7:42 a bag deal came with a free hot dog or
7:45 maybe they're selling the hot dogs.
7:47 People had I was noticing people had
7:49 little tickets that you could show that
7:52 get in the line show the ticket that you
7:54 that you purchased the bag deal and you
7:57 also got hot dogs and a bag of chip or a
7:59 hot dog and a bag of chips. I did not I
8:01 did not partake of that, but the line
8:04 for the hot dog, the trop dog was really
8:07 really lengthy. Again, good to see uh
8:10 good to see a good turnout for the
8:12 merchandise. Kind of interesting because
8:14 a lot of times during Ray's games when
8:16 they were here at the trop, people
8:17 didn't really show up in droves to to
8:19 see the team. I mean, they're showing up
8:21 pretty good at Tropicana Field just
8:23 because it's not Tropicana, but Stein
8:24 Brener just because it's a different
8:25 experience. But if you went to a lot of
8:28 games, unless they were playing the Red
8:29 Sox or the Yankees or one of the more
8:33 mainstream MLB teams, you'd see a good a
8:36 good
8:37 crowd at the Trop. But on a normal
8:40 night, if they were playing another team
8:42 that wasn't a big market team, then the
8:45 trop was definitely not full. But this
8:46 seems to be a pretty a pretty hectic
8:49 event. People showed up in masses to buy
8:53 the to buy the merchandise. I don't even
8:54 know how much merchandise there was. So,
8:55 I'm just I'm just throwing my opinion
8:58 out there. But, yeah, interesting to see
9:00 the the trop again right here. Again, I
9:03 don't I don't know if they're going to
9:04 be playing in there next year. They say
9:07 they are, but then what's going to
9:09 happen in a few years when this then the
9:10 lease is up on this and they have to
9:11 tear this down anyway. So, originally
9:13 the way it worked is the last game of
9:16 2027 season was going to be the last
9:18 game in Tropicana Field. They were they
9:20 were going to play here till end of 27
9:22 and they were going to build the stadium
9:23 I think like in the parking lot and then
9:25 after a year of that they were going to
9:27 tear that down. The hurricane messed all
9:29 that up. The stadium saga continues and
9:34 completely was altered. They announced
9:36 that they're not going to be building a
9:37 new stadium right here. There's some
9:39 announcement of them may they maybe they
9:40 were going to move this move out of the
9:42 state go to other areas. Then there's
9:44 some heavy announcements about them
9:46 maybe moving to Tampa. And then also in
9:48 the recent months that they might move
9:50 to Orlando. There's a company or an
9:52 organization called the Orlando Dreamers
9:54 that wants to again throw their hat in
9:56 the ring. They obviously probably
9:58 wouldn't would be the Orlando Rays, not
9:59 the Orlando Dreamers. But again, I would
10:02 be all I would be all for that because,
10:04 you know, I'm close to there and I think
10:06 they would be a it'd be a nice little
10:08 change of pace and they would they would
10:10 get a they'd be kind of in a new area.
10:13 So, you get people driving over from
10:14 Tampa. Then you get people from Orlando.
10:16 You get some of the tourists that are
10:18 going to the parks that think, you know,
10:19 my my team's playing the Rays. Why don't
10:22 I go over and and see my team as well,
10:24 which will bring more people in as well.
10:26 It's kind of like the same same scenario
10:28 as what, you know, formerly Oakland days
10:32 athletics playing in Sacramento for the
10:34 next few years. They're going to move to
10:35 Vegas and that's kind of be the market
10:37 kind of for Vegas. You get people going
10:39 to Vegas and they can go see the team
10:40 that they root for if they're in town in
10:43 Vegas. They can pop over to the Vegas
10:44 stadium to see the Vegas A's versus
10:46 whoever else. I think that could work in
10:48 Orlando. Again, I'm just spitballing
10:50 here and just throwing out my thoughts,
10:51 but speaking out
10:53 loud. It's also interesting. There's a
10:55 lot of people still walking in thinking
10:57 that the FanFest flea market is still
11:01 underway. It's 12:41 right now. An hour
11:03 and 20 minutes till it's supposed to
11:05 end. And it's pretty much over.
11:08 Early bird gets the worm. And I was not
11:10 the worm today. I got here I got here
11:12 halfway during the event and it's it's
11:14 over. All right, moving on. Go to the
11:15 Let me go to the record store. Let me
11:16 get an umbrella first out of my car. Be
11:18 the person your dog thinks you are. Pick
11:20 up their poop. All right, I got the
11:22 umbrella here just in case I need it.
11:24 I'm going to walk past Tropicana Field
11:27 and go over to Fergs, which was kind of
11:29 the the local hangout spot for
11:32 anyone that was going to Ray Games. And
11:36 I would imagine because the Rays are now
11:37 playing over in Tampa at Steinbrand are
11:39 home games. Fergs has to be hurting. I'm
11:41 sure they're they're really bummed about
11:44 this whole thing because that was a
11:46 majority of their business was on game
11:47 days. All the ticket holders and fans
11:51 from away games would go over the Fergs
11:52 over here in the corner. So I'll pop by
11:54 Fergs and see Fergs. See what's going
11:56 on. Getting a nice little view also as
11:58 I'm walking over to Fergs. Kind of a
12:00 closeup of the railings and the the
12:03 banisters on the upper the upper area.
12:05 Yeah, if a foul ball hit it, it always
12:06 changed the gameplay a little bit. Don't
12:08 have that issue over at Steinbreer now
12:10 cuz he's playing outdoors. But it's
12:12 always interesting when the the balls
12:14 would hit the the rafters and things.
12:16 And then panning over across, still got
12:18 Yandi here. Raise up Yandi Diaz right
12:20 over here as well. It's like people have
12:22 kind of tagged their name on Yandi's
12:24 chest and on his shoulder there. But
12:26 this is on the other side of the street
12:30 from Fergs. Walk over here and check it
12:32 out. He says right here, look at this.
12:34 You see the little green banner here? It
12:36 almost looks like a golf putting green
12:40 and it has the word Fergs written across
12:41 it. Little uh like a fence is still
12:44 falling over from from the hurricane. I
12:47 don't know what's going on
12:49 over anything going on over here as
12:51 well. Oh, over here. There's like a
12:53 little classic car over here. Hold on a
12:54 second. Look at
12:56 this
12:58 classic car alert right here next to
13:00 this Coca-Cola. Oh, no. It's a Budweiser
13:02 can. But you got classic car right over
13:05 here next to this uh this beer camp.
13:07 Yeah. So it's not just the stadium
13:10 itself, you know, that's hurting from
13:12 the fact that the hurricane did the
13:13 damage, but also places that rely on
13:17 business from people who go to the
13:19 stadium. See the stadium right over
13:20 there? You walk either across the road
13:22 or through a little tunnel and you got
13:24 the Ferg, the world famous Fergs. The
13:27 iconic liquor store drive-in stood
13:29 originally at the corner of 16th and
13:31 Central for over 50 years in ' 61. It
13:33 was constructed from a globe in 1950s
13:35 furniture store refurbished and located
13:37 here to preserve its heritage to keep
13:41 its heritage illuminated. Moved here in
13:44 2019 and I would say less baseball fans
13:47 are probably seeing it now that the Rays
13:51 currently now again some say next year
13:54 the Rays will be back in here. I am not
13:56 one of those people saying that. I think
13:57 it's going to probably be another year
13:59 if I was saying if I was a betting man.
14:02 My opinion would be that the Rays are
14:04 going to be at Steinbrer again next
14:06 year. I feel like the Yankees are going
14:07 to let the Rays use that stadium one
14:09 more year until it gets all figured out.
14:11 But yeah, what do I know? Just just
14:14 again thinking out loud. Was like up
14:15 here too. Not a lot of people out like
14:17 all the little stands right there
14:18 selling the Ray stuff. No, no one's out
14:20 selling anything. Fergs is open for
14:22 business if you want to get a adult
14:24 beverage or adult beverage or a burger
14:26 or anything like that. I do like this
14:28 big boy right here. This Bob's Big Boy
14:31 or Fresh's Big Boy. One of the big boys
14:32 holding the burger. I always like seeing
14:34 this. Oh wow. Last time I was over in
14:36 this area. Time sure flies. They were
14:39 building these condos
14:41 here above the little little circular
14:44 starburst, whatever this is called.
14:48 Tampa Jay once told me that they refer
14:49 to
14:50 this as the St. St. Pete bee hole. You
14:55 know what the B stands for?
15:04 Oh, there's a there's some raised
15:04 banners down the road,
15:13 too. Yeah. Tampa J leaving Florida.
15:13 He'll be back. He'll be back a lot. I'm
15:15 sure I'll see him just as much as I ever
15:16 did. He'll be back for, you know,
15:18 Universal, Disney, Rays games, Central
15:21 Florida stuff, haunt
15:27 stuff. It's going to be weird not having
15:27 Tampa
15:28 J and Tampa St. Pete residing though. I
15:32 miss that guy again. I'll see him
15:34 probably just as much, if not
15:37 more. I'm still going to see him just as
15:40 much. There's a knocked over cone.
15:43 Yeah. Yeah. This is a shop called Full
15:45 Full Court St. Pete. They have an I miss
15:49 trop custommade shirt here for
15:52 $42. Oh, I wonder if they have them in
15:55 here. That's
15:57 Cinderella. Just vintage shirts. Snake
16:00 bite. You can get yourself a I missed
16:02 the chop shirt if you want them. They'll
16:04 make one for you. I won't even think
16:05 about bringing an e- scooter or an ebike
16:07 on these sidewalks. Not through here.
16:10 According to that sign, St. Pete, they
16:12 don't allow it, but they do allow lots
16:16 of great
16:23 murals. A cat, a dog on that
16:23 one. I always like this
16:31 one. Got Felix there. You got a wacky
16:31 Donald. You got a couple wacky Donald.
16:34 You got regular Donald here, non-wacky
16:36 Donald. Then you got more than wacky
16:38 Donald with a paintbrush going through
16:39 his eye right here. Then you got
16:41 Garfield with three eyes. He uh took
16:44 some of Donald's
16:46 eyes. Well, he took one of Donald's eye.
16:48 I don't Donald's other eye is right here
16:50 in this little
16:52 pyramid. Goofy has quite a third
16:57 eye. Okay, I'm picking up a theme here
16:59 with the different
17:01 eyes. Yeah, this is a brand new building
17:03 right there. Well, new to me at least
17:05 since I've been over here. It was kind
17:07 of nice walking through, you know, been
17:09 walking through St. Pete a little bit,
17:11 seeing everyone with Ray's hats and
17:13 shirts and all that on. Kind of getting
17:15 the vibe back over near Tropicana, even
17:17 though there's no game. I kind of wish I
17:18 was going I feel like I'm going to a
17:20 game today, but they're playing in
17:22 Houston
17:27 today. And all the times I've been over
17:27 here, I've never been inside this record
17:30 store right here.
17:32 It's called Planet
17:34 Retro. In fact, this is maybe the first
17:36 time I've been back in St. Pete since I
17:37 bought a record player. I had a record
17:39 player in the '9s. Collected a lot of
17:41 punk rock stuff. Don't Don't ask me what
17:42 happened to all that stuff from back in
17:44 the '90s. But recently, now that I
17:46 bought a
17:47 house, I've been purchasing records
17:50 again. It's
17:51 fun. So, I'm going to buy some records
17:53 over here at this vintage store, which
17:56 has shirts, DVDs, books. There's some
18:00 vinyl on the windows there.
18:05 Planet
18:05 Retro. There you go. Planet Retro right
18:08 there. It has the Oh, it's almost like
18:10 the solar system where it's like the
18:12 ring around a planet except it's ring
18:14 around a record player. And they are
18:16 open. All right. I got two albums. I
18:19 wish not always, but a majority of the
18:21 time I try to buy albums in areas where
18:23 I have memories of certain seeing
18:25 certain bands or if a certain group or
18:28 musician artist has an album cover
18:31 that's filmed in a town. Did not go the
18:33 album cover route, but I went with two
18:35 bands that I saw in this area on more
18:38 than one
18:39 occasion. And I got a rare pressing, a
18:42 test pressing from a band called Pink
18:44 Lincoln, which I saw many, many times.
18:46 These open up for every band you could
18:47 think of over at the state theater just
18:50 down the road. Test pressing on
18:52 Jailhouse Records. And I was in a band
18:55 that was on Jailhouse Records for a
18:56 while. So kind of a nice little tie in.
18:58 I was a band called TNT, The New Threat.
19:00 We were on We were on Jail House. I also
19:01 bought an AF AFI
19:05 album. Love old school
19:13 AFI. Early AFI was so good. Oh my god. I
19:13 mean, I like the newer stuff, too,
19:15 but I saw AFI in a little tiny place
19:19 called The Refuge. Saw a lot of bands
19:21 there. Ignite there, Straight Face, but
19:23 I saw AFI and I bought an AFI album. And
19:25 I'll show where I saw them back in the
19:28 mid to late 90s right over here. And
19:31 there's the split CD, Split Series
19:34 Volume 1. I think that was
19:36 2007. Reour put it put the Split out on
19:39 Jailhouse Records right there.
19:41 Non-existent record label. stick
19:43 currently. So, everything's pretty rare
19:45 now. I don't know if he ever put out
19:47 vinyl. I should buy vinyl from a band I
19:49 used to be in. That'd be kind of fun.
19:50 But I bought Pink Lincoln today. Great
19:53 band from this coast, the Tampa Bay
19:56 area, Tampa St. Pete area. Our logo is
19:59 pretty neat. It was like a
20:01 skull. Yeah. First tour I ever did was
20:04 with this our time band 2007 with Jail.
20:07 It was a Jailhouse Records tour. Two
20:09 names, Mocha Joe's and the Refuge. I
20:11 think it was two different ones. I do
20:12 not remember what the address was, but
20:14 it was in one of these. It was in one of
20:16 these little little places right here
20:18 was where you see concerts in the '90s.
20:20 I
20:21 believe it was like right over in here
20:24 cuz I do remember some of the bands
20:25 would pull up their their vans here to
20:27 load in. So, this kind of this spot here
20:29 kind of looks familiar. And I feel as if
20:32 it was this spot right
20:34 here. There's a church here and uh some
20:39 other little spots. Yeah, The
20:41 Refuge. Saw many, many bands right in
20:45 here, including AFI, which was an
20:47 amazing
20:49 show. Probably 97,
20:52 96, maybe. This is it. This looks like
20:55 where it would have been. It's either
20:56 this spot here or the next spot right
21:01 over here. This feels like that was
21:09 it. Yeah, it was just like a little
21:10 stage. Little tiny
21:12 stage band would load in. This is this
21:15 address
21:17 350. So, it could have been
21:20 350. Again, this
21:22 looks this looks this looks familiar.
21:24 So, it's somewhere in here was the
21:26 refuge. And I bought an album at a
21:28 record store right down there, right
21:30 next to where I saw the band. And it was
21:32 a year or two before Black Sales and the
21:34 Sunset came out, but they didn't have
21:35 Very Proud of
21:37 You on album in there, which would have
21:39 been probably the tour I saw them on
21:41 Nitro
21:43 Records again. It could have been the
21:46 one on the end. It could have been this
21:47 one. It could have been that one. But
21:49 yeah, got a little AFI album. Love early
21:51 AFI. So good. And then I got the test
21:54 pressing. No artwork, no liner
21:58 notes, no cover, no back cover, no track
22:01 listing. Test pressing Pink Lincoln for
22:04 their first album re-released from
22:06 Jailhouse Records Circa
22:09 2009
22:11 perhaps. Again, no artwork or anything
22:14 on it, but yeah, got the got the Pink
22:18 Lincoln. They haven't been around. I
22:20 haven't they haven't played a show in
22:21 over a decade and I don't even know if
22:23 all the members are even still around or
22:26 any of them are still around anymore.
22:27 But AFI, I believe, still play shows.
22:30 They're great. This is the 25th
22:31 anniversary. Oh, and it's on neon orange
22:35 vinyl.
22:37 Nice. I don't mind that. I like colored
22:46 vinyl. It was a great album.
22:46 The first four or five AFI albums were
22:48 just untouchably good. All right, I
22:50 looked it up. I found a couple old
22:52 flyers. I believe it's now where the
22:54 artisan is. 328 MLK MLK Drive, Martin
22:59 Luther King Drive. Back then it would it
23:02 was 9inth Street North. And they still
23:05 got some stickers here.
23:16 MLK inside this little building right
23:16 here. This is inside the old refuge
23:21 music venue right here.
23:23 You've been here 14 years. Yes.
23:27 Then it was a dance studio.
23:34 Very cool. Yeah. That would have been
23:34 the front door right there. I don't know
23:35 where the stage would have been, but
23:38 a lot of bands played in here. I also
23:39 heard that this these two buildings used
23:41 to be one. Oh, they built they they may
23:44 have built like the wall there. It was a
23:45 bigger building. That's what I heard.
23:47 Yeah. All right. So, best I can
23:50 tell. It might have even stretched over
23:53 to there, too. It might have been that
23:55 wall taken down or this wall taken down.
23:57 It might have been this whole chunk. But
23:59 man, wow. Yeah, I saw ignite in there
24:03 also.
24:08 Trying to think who else I saw in there.
24:08 To be honest, I probably saw Pink
24:09 Lincoln's in there also. Saw a lot of
24:12 bands. Straightface. Oh my gosh, I love
24:14 Straight Face. The original the first
24:17 the first album I had was Broken by
24:20 Straight
24:21 Face, Fearless Records before Fearless
24:24 Records kind of turned into the label it
24:26 is now with more kind of melodic
24:28 hardcore emoy type of pop punky stuff.
24:32 They had Straightface and the
24:33 Straightface got signed to Epitap and
24:35 then the singer quit. The band broke up
24:38 and I don't even think Epitap Records
24:41 even even talks about or even has their
24:43 albums anymore. There's a retro antique
24:45 store here by the record store. Also,
24:47 serious classic car alert right
24:55 there. The refuge was down there. Record
24:55 store right here. How did I miss this
24:57 when I was walking over to the refuge?
25:00 Turns out after perusing around in
25:02 there, a lot of great stuff, come to
25:05 find out that the same person that owns
25:07 Planet Retro also owns RetroIques. Not
25:10 retro antiques,
25:13 retroes. Couple things I had my eye on.
25:16 Some of
25:17 them I expected to be a little less in
25:20 price, so put back. But I found a couple
25:22 good deals on a couple tikis. So, I got
25:24 a couple little tiki things. Put on some
25:26 shelving near my dining room kitchen
25:28 area. I have some shelves that already
25:31 have some tikis on.
25:33 So, retro teaks for the win. Really
25:35 great stuff inside there. Really great
25:37 stuff inside there. And inside Planet
25:39 Retro, classic car alert everywhere.
25:43 Well, not everywhere, but a lot of
25:45 classic car alerts out
25:47 here along MLK, formerly 9inth
25:54 Street. All right.
25:54 See what else I can
25:56 find. I should have known both places
25:59 have the same owner cuz they're using
26:01 the same bags. There's my tikis. There's
26:03 my
26:05 records. Corner of Burlington and
26:18 MLK. This old church building still
26:18 stands here. The lot next to it has been
26:20 torn down.
26:21 do not believe this congregation is
26:24 utilizing the building anymore or if
26:27 it's even an active congregation. I see
26:29 some broken windows, boards on the
26:31 windows,
26:43 etc. There's the church bell there, the
26:43 bell tower with no bell anymore.
26:53 A former piece of history just sitting
26:53 here rotting away downtown St. Pete.
26:57 There's a beautiful old Ford right here.
27:00 Twin beam. Twin I beam. Little red Ford.
27:04 It's
27:06 beautiful. I also picked up a Planet
27:09 Retro Black Cat T-shirt here. St. Pete.
27:12 And these are the little tiki guys. Kind
27:15 of like it. We got the Eastern Island
27:18 version
27:19 there. Got the wooden carving version
27:22 there as well. It's windy. I'm liking
27:25 this wind though, to be
27:26 honest. You like the wind,
27:34 cat? Move my car over to this parking
27:34 garage closer to the bay. About a mile
27:36 closer than it was over at Tropicana
27:38 Field where all the cars were starting
27:39 to leave from there. So, I thought I
27:41 should probably move my car from there.
27:42 I'm over in this parking garage looking
27:44 down on Janice Live which used to be
27:46 Janice Landing which was a venue back in
27:48 the day. I saw Bouncing Souls there. I
27:51 believe Snuff was the opening act.
27:53 Bouncing Souls. Snuff used to be Guns
27:56 and Guns and Wankers was the original
27:58 name of that band and they changed their
27:59 name. They opened up then Bouncing Souls
28:01 and then No Effects on the Heavy Petting
28:03 Zoo tour. I guess I could if I ever
28:05 found heavy petting zoo on vinyl from no
28:07 effects, I could get it in this
28:09 particular area because I have uh have
28:11 memories of that album being played with
28:12 the souls right over there in Janice
28:15 Landing which is behind those buildings
28:17 tucked away in that little little
28:19 courtyard like this. I love St. Pete
28:21 right here really close to where the
28:22 state theater used to be now called the
28:24 Florida theater. Was many years ago back
28:26 when it was a state theater but went to
28:28 probably over a hundred shows mostly
28:30 punk rock shows inside of
28:33 there. Guess if I was to find a No Use
28:36 for a Name album from that era. I saw
28:39 Noame in here. Of course
28:43 they have not been around for a long
28:45 time. The singer passed away many many
28:47 years ago, but great band on Fat
28:51 Records. Oh, look at this little thing.
28:54 Look at this uh little golf cart right
28:57 here. Also, these are the little
29:01 drainage dish manholes. Let me get out
29:03 of the way. There you got this little
29:05 pelican. City of St. Pete drain with the
29:08 pelican. Manny, look at a pelican. Fly
29:11 pelican. Walking around now. The
29:13 coliseum has a world oddities. I think
29:16 I've been to one of these World Oddities
29:17 Expos. And they're uh Yeah. Was it I
29:20 think it's a lot of taxiderermy. But
29:22 since I'm over here in the area, they're
29:23 going on till 7:00. The Coliseum World
29:25 Oddities Expo right over here inside
29:28 this old train station looking place.
29:30 Walking in. There's a big baby doll head
29:32 right here. Kind of reminds me of in
29:34 Mexico. It's a doll island.
29:47 This actually might not be the same
29:47 event I went to in the past.
29:57 It's an everyday throw Michael Myers
29:57 right
30:01 there. Look at this little
30:03 thing. I think the one I went to last
30:06 year was like all taxiderermy and not
30:08 enough not other stuff. I like a good
30:10 mixture. Just when it's all taxiderermy,
30:12 it's a little too much for me. A zebra
30:20 sculpt. Creepy magnet. You got Frankie
30:20 there, but it's really James Dean. It's
30:23 like a mashup of James Dean and
30:32 Frankie track. There's
30:35 Bella. Oh my goodness.
30:44 And goodbye kitty. You can get a
30:44 emergency chicken right here. Or an
30:47 emergency
30:49 goat. Barely hear it, but Oh, look at
30:51 this. Emergency Bigfoot. Emergency
30:53 monkey. Emergency cat. Do a cat
30:57 fight. Think that's working. We do a
31:01 howl. Kind of hear it.
31:07 Looks like they got like a little like
31:07 freak show going on over here.
31:10 Little performance. Little sideeshow.
31:12 That's the word I'm looking for.
31:14 Sideshow. We got a little monkey shines
31:15 here.
31:17 Little clapping monkey right there.
31:20 There you go. Yeah. Everyone's here
31:27 for little stained glass area here. I
31:27 was looking at this
31:30 bat right there.
31:33 $70 for that one. There's a goat
31:36 head. They're two-headed
31:39 deer. This is cool. Impossible
31:42 Curiosities is the name of the company.
31:44 $150 for that one. It's
31:47 nice. This little toad stool frog right
31:54 there. I like this ghost down here.
31:54 Awesome. Oh, I like this
31:56 path. That's cool. All right, that was
31:58 interesting. Got a nice little view at
32:00 some things again. I've been to that
32:02 before, but I think last time was like
32:03 the Tampa Fairgrounds and it was way
32:05 bigger and there was a lot more
32:07 taxiderermy. That was like a good
32:08 healthy mix of half vendors selling
32:11 haunted Halloween horror stuff and
32:13 taxiderermy. So, right here next to this
32:25 church coliseum's over there. Church
32:25 here with the stained glass. Can't
32:26 really see what the stained glass shows,
32:28 but next door. That is a Look at that.
32:31 That's a little parking enforcing
32:32 vehicle right there. Look at that. It's
32:34 got a pelican on the side. That thing's
32:37 hauling
32:38 butt. He's got give tickets to someone.
32:41 Look at this park. I've never been to
32:43 this park before. There's like a really
32:46 interesting stage right here with the
32:48 backdrop of that church cathedral. Look
32:51 at this stage. It's kind of futuristic
32:53 looking, right? Big open courtyard.
33:01 Got some birds over
33:01 here. They're eating something. These
33:03 storks,
33:04 pigeons being fed. Somebody's feeding
33:06 them something. Or they're just eating.
33:08 I don't know what they're
33:10 eating. They're going to town on
33:12 something. That bird right there was
33:14 just chowing
33:16 down. Little
33:18 seagull. All right. See a
33:20 seagull. This is kind of a spooky
33:22 looking tree right here.
33:30 Yeah, I didn't want to start driving
33:30 back too early with the traffic and
33:32 everything. Usually a Saturday afternoon
33:34 kind of turns into
33:37 weekdayish weekdayish type of
33:41 traffic. So, I waited a little bit. I
33:44 think it's getting late enough in the
33:45 day where I can start heading
33:52 back and walk over here to the boat
33:52 dock.
33:58 peruse around a little bit before
33:58 heading back to the car and then driving
33:59 back to Celebration. Definitely a nice
34:01 time of the day. Not too hot anymore.
34:04 Sun will be setting in the relatively
34:06 near future. Little beautiful view of
34:08 the St. Pete skyline here across the
34:11 boat dock. Nice clouds going on up
34:14 there. Palm
34:15 trees. A
34:18 beautiful, beautiful late afternoon,
34:20 early evening.
34:30 Ahead. There is the first airline pilot,
34:30 Tony
34:36 Janice. Janice landing or Janice Live
34:36 named after him, which is the venue I
34:39 showed earlier. There's a little
34:41 sculpture here with Mr. Janice flying
34:44 through the air right over here on the
34:45 boat
34:47 dock or on the pier, I should say. All
34:50 right, making it back over into
34:51 Celebration. Made pretty good time.
34:53 About an hour and a half. I waited late
34:55 enough to where traffic was not too bad
34:57 here at the light here on Celebration
34:59 Boulevard. Pulling off of I4
35:02 I4. Back into
35:04 town. Yeah, good commute over and a good
35:07 commute back. Timed it
35:11 perfectly. All right, back home now. Got
35:14 a few things. Had a good day in St.
35:16 Pete. walking around checking out
35:19 the Tampa Bay
35:22 Rays garage sale that was completely
35:26 over. By the time I got there at noon,
35:29 two hours before it was supposed to end,
35:30 there was not one thing left. I brought
35:33 this with me to bring in there. I was
35:35 going to load it up with some stuff.
35:38 Didn't use it for any Ray stuff, but
35:40 that's
35:41 okay. Was not a wasted trip. I got a
35:43 Planet Retro shirt.
35:46 I got a little Easter Island
35:48 tiki from the vintage shop. Like that.
35:51 Put it over somewhere here in the
35:52 homestead. Also got this tiki which I
35:54 like. Also got the pink links there.
35:57 Test pressing right there. AFI black
36:01 sails in the sunset. And when I returned
36:03 home, I ordered this in the mail. My
36:06 favorite, not even
36:08 close to a second favorite. Bruce
36:12 Springsteen album Nebraska. wanted this
36:14 on vinyl for a long time. One of my
36:17 favorite driving records. Whenever I'm
36:19 riding, cruising along, I'll throw I'll
36:22 throw Nebraska on. It's just really a
36:25 different kind of album for
36:29 Springsteen. Yeah, I really like it. I
36:31 always wanted to get this on vinyl. I
36:32 thought about the other day. Said, "Let
36:34 me order that online." So, I did. There
36:37 it is. Nebraska. So, picked that up.
36:40 Ordered that through the mail. Picked
36:42 all this stuff up. up in person. Vinyl
36:45 collection slowly
36:47 growing and uh glad I got this. This I
36:51 think if you're going to have a
36:52 Springsteen vinyl, this is the one you
36:54 need. It's definitely a different style
36:57 than the other Springsteen albums. This
36:59 is the only one I even own, but I like
37:01 it. All right, thanks for watching. I'll
37:03 see you in the next video. The
37:05 vlog is over. Man, I wish I could have
37:08 got something at that, but what do you
37:10 got to do? Drove all the way over there.
37:13 Didn't get anything. It was all gone.
