0:03 Welcome everyone. Adam the Woo here.
0:03 It's my second channel, daily blog
0:05 channel. It's the Daily
0:08 Woo. Normally I'm out and about filming
0:12 things, wonderful things around either
0:15 in the wilderness or the concrete jungle
0:17 of cities or just strange, bizarre,
0:20 unusual items. But today, I'm not going
0:23 to be doing that. I'm just going to stay
0:25 stationary here in my van. I'm going to
0:27 tell you some stories, spin some yarns,
0:30 and give you some memories about a
0:32 friend of mine that I met a couple years
0:35 ago through doing these videos that I
0:37 mentioned it was the daily woo. It's the
0:39 daily woo. And the reason I bring up
0:42 it's the daily woo, not only because
0:43 it's the video, but also because it has
0:46 a lot to do with the storyline of what
0:49 I'm going to tell you. When I started
0:51 doing these vlogs as well as my main
0:53 channel
0:54 videos, I started to build up a very
0:57 small core group of original followers
1:00 that eventually became friends, kindred
1:03 spirits, if you will, because in the
1:06 beginning, no one really watched my
1:07 videos. I had a very, very low amount of
1:11 people that even followed me or even
1:12 stumbled upon my videos. Over time, it
1:15 has grown to what it is now, which is
1:17 amazing. But in the past, there was
1:20 always one or two people, three or four
1:22 people that always contacted me, emailed
1:25 me, and said, "Hey, man, stick with it.
1:28 You're doing the right thing." Cuz even
1:30 when I would get depressed and think,
1:31 "What am I doing? Quitting my job,
1:33 traveling around, filming things. What?
1:36 That doesn't make any sense. Taking a
1:38 camera and filming something, no money,
1:41 just traveling around, living life, and
1:44 filming random things.
1:47 sounds like it would be awesome and fun
1:50 which it is but in the beginning very
1:53 very difficult especially when you don't
1:55 have a lot of support. So saying that
1:58 always those core group of people in the
2:00 beginning with any project that you've
2:02 done or I've done that always support
2:04 you. The great thing about the internet
2:06 is those supporters normally are people
2:10 that you don't know. They weren't your
2:12 friend back in the day. They're not your
2:13 family. They're just people you've never
2:15 met that latch on to you through the
2:18 email. They feel they know you. They
2:20 start emailing you and then you
2:21 eventually meet them and you become
2:23 friends with them. And this happened
2:25 with a certain YouTuber named 66
2:29 Hellride. His YouTube channel is 66
2:32 Hellride. He got a little bit of
2:34 notoriety because he actually was on
2:37 another YouTube channel, a bigger
2:38 YouTube channel that he was kind of the
2:40 announcer for. So, we got a little bit
2:42 of a boost on his YouTube channel and a
2:45 lot of people from that other channel
2:47 that he helped out with years ago
2:50 started to know 66 Hell Ride. His name
2:52 was Jason Craig. Jason eventually became
2:56 a very good friend of mine, very good
2:57 friend of mine. And the reason for that
2:59 because he had a very kind spirit, very
3:02 kind soul, one of the nicest guys I've
3:04 ever met on the road.
3:07 And I just want to let you guys know
3:08 that Jason 66 Hell Ride, I got the news
3:11 last night, has actually been taken from
3:13 us and has actually passed away. It's
3:16 very sad. It's one of those things where
3:18 you kind of see it coming, but even when
3:21 you hear the news, I got an email last
3:22 night from another friend of his just
3:24 like me that met him online, ended up
3:27 following his videos, talking to him.
3:30 They became friends, very close friends.
3:32 They would talk on the phone all the
3:34 time, became really good buddies. I
3:36 heard from him last night that he has
3:39 passed
3:40 away and it really it really definitely
3:42 hit me last night when I got the email
3:44 and I read it. I had been in contact
3:47 with this other friend of his recently
3:50 about the decline of his health of
3:52 Jason's health. He had ALS which I have
3:56 never been familiar with. It's also
3:58 known as Lou Garri's disease. And I
4:01 really did not realize how harsh this
4:04 particular disease was. Two years ago, I
4:08 went through Kansas City. Kansas City is
4:10 a good central point of the US. Since
4:13 I'm traveling, Kansas City is a good
4:15 centralized area. When Jason originally
4:18 hit me up two or three years ago, gosh,
4:21 probably I think it was November of
4:23 2012, so a year and a half, two years
4:24 ago, he said, "Hey man, I love your
4:26 videos." I've been talking to him online
4:28 for a while. I really want to take you
4:30 out to lunch, just talk about traveling,
4:33 talk about memories, talk about talk
4:35 about pop culture. So, I ended up
4:38 meeting up with Jason for the first time
4:40 on that day, November of 2012. He took
4:43 me out to lunch. We sat around,
4:45 exchanged stories. Jason was a big rock
4:48 and roll guy. Loved his rock and roll.
4:50 Kind of a metal head. He was a biker. He
4:53 loved Route 66, which is why he chose
4:56 the name for his YouTube channel, 66
4:58 Hell Ride. Loved all the roadside
5:01 attractions of Route 66, and also love
5:03 rat rods and old classic cars. He was an
5:06 old school
5:08 guy and just that's basically the gist
5:11 of his username.
5:19 So basically met up with him that day,
5:19 went out to lunch, told some stories,
5:22 told me one story about how when he was
5:25 younger and his son was a lot younger,
5:28 they actually got to meet Azie Osborne.
5:30 He told me the story a couple times and
5:31 like a good friend always over all the
5:33 multiple times I met up with him, he'd
5:35 always tell me the same story. The thing
5:37 that was great about friends always
5:39 listen to their other friends stories
5:40 even though they've heard them a couple
5:41 times and they always are excited about
5:44 the excitedness that the friend that's
5:46 telling me the story told me the story
5:48 about how he went to a concert his son
5:51 came up missing for a moment backstage
5:53 when he finally found his son. He was
5:55 sitting in Aussie Osborne's lap. One of
5:58 his idols, one of Jason's idols loved
6:00 rock and roll. So for him getting to see
6:03 his son sitting in Aussiey's lap and
6:04 Aussie talking to him and then getting
6:07 to meet Azie Osborne from Black Sabbath
6:09 was like a big deal for
6:11 him. So just some cool stories we got to
6:14 exchange. And then he lived outside of
6:16 Kansas City in an area called
6:18 Independence, Missouri, which is right
6:20 outside. It's where Harry S. Truman
6:23 lived, the president of the United
6:25 States, Harry S. Truman. And he showed
6:27 me all around the Harry S. Truman spots.
6:30 We went all around that little town
6:31 area. We went to a little centralized
6:33 area in that little region there that
6:37 had an old school soda fountain and I
6:38 expressed my interest. Man, I really
6:40 like old school cherry Cokes. I always
6:42 like the Cokes with the cherry flavor
6:45 dipped in. Not the traditional cherry
6:46 coke you see in a bottle now or out of a
6:49 fountain from like 7-Eleven, but the old
6:51 school like the grenardine stuff in
6:53 there. And Jason said, "Man, I know
6:55 where we can get one of those." So he
6:56 took me to this little secret spot that
6:58 he knew about that he used to visit back
6:59 in the day that Harry S. Truman actually
7:02 used to work at as a young lad. So this
7:04 place is old school. So we went the 6x
7:07 hellride and I went there had a little
7:11 beverage, little cherry coke. We both
7:12 had one each one of us together walking
7:14 around the town square in the footsteps
7:16 of Harry Truman. They had all these
7:18 little plaques up of Harry Truman did
7:20 this here and did this. So that was
7:22 interesting sharing some time with him
7:25 and having a good time. So basically
7:27 that was in the end of 2012. I left and
7:30 went on my travels, became really good
7:31 friends. We talk on the phone. We text,
7:33 a lot of texting, a lot of emails. And
7:36 then I went back through probably about
7:38 8 n months ago. This is four or five
7:41 months after the first time I had met
7:43 him. And we got lunch again. And he
7:45 showed up. Actually, we didn't meet at
7:48 first. We ended up meeting at Grand
7:50 Central Station and I did a vlog about
7:53 where Walt Disney took a shower, walked
7:56 from Laugh Studios down into the area
7:59 where he showered in the bathroom at uh
8:04 Union
8:05 Station. So Jason met me there and I
8:09 knew that something was wrong when I met
8:11 him that second time. He really wasn't
8:14 able to walk. He had a
8:16 cane and he definitely had
8:19 deteriorated quite a bit since the first
8:21 time I had seen him six months before
8:24 and I remember him kind of telling me
8:26 about the ALS in the beginning, the Lou
8:28 Gerri's disease. And I didn't really put
8:31 two and two together. I just figured,
8:32 oh, he's not feeling well. I didn't
8:34 realize how severe it really was until
8:36 that second time. So, we walked around.
8:39 We were walking through Union Station
8:41 and we were just talking. And I was
8:42 pointing things out and I turned around
8:44 and Jason had actually fallen on the
8:46 ground onto the hard not concrete but
8:49 like a concrete with whatever that slab
8:51 the slab of I don't know flamica or
8:54 whatever that is they put over the
8:55 concrete and he had actually fallen. His
8:57 cane had dropped his cane and had fallen
8:59 on the ground. So I turned around and
9:01 helped him up. Luckily he didn't break
9:03 anything. You could tell it hurt him a
9:05 little bit. I think it hurt his ego a
9:06 little bit and he just kept apologizing.
9:09 Hey, I I don't I don't really want to
9:10 slow you down from what you're doing.
9:12 And I was there to hang out with him.
9:13 So, it definitely did not slow me down
9:15 in any way. Said, "Hey, buddy. You're
9:17 doing good. Everything's fine. Let's
9:18 walk around, go at your pace." So, we
9:20 ended up filming the video. In fact, all
9:23 the videos that I was in of his videos
9:26 on his channel, I'm going to put all
9:28 those down below as well as the video he
9:31 was in my Daily Woo from that day. He
9:35 was actually wearing a Daily Woo shirt.
9:37 That's what I got to say about him. very
9:38 big supportive of my videos. Always
9:42 supported me. Every time we would hang
9:44 out, he would always say, "You're doing
9:46 the right thing. You're doing the right
9:47 thing. These videos, not only for me,
9:50 are are big because I can't go out and
9:52 go visit these places, but I have
9:54 visited these places in the past." So,
9:55 they're memories for me, but also
9:57 memories for other people. And there's
9:59 other people talking about himself.
10:01 There's other people like him that
10:03 couldn't go out and see and do things at
10:06 this point in their life. So it always
10:08 made me think I am definitely doing the
10:11 right thing. Kept me motivated. So I got
10:13 to say definitely a big motivation and
10:17 inspiration in my life that he was and
10:20 will continue to be. So basically we
10:23 finished that day, walked around, filmed
10:25 that little vlog, which I'm going to put
10:26 all those videos down below in honor of
10:29 Jason 66 Hell Ride. After that we went
10:32 and got lunch, ate some lunch again. He
10:35 told me the Aussie Osborne story again,
10:38 which kind of like a Wayne's World
10:39 moment where I had kind of heard it and
10:41 I was like, "Oh, that's cool." Which
10:42 still really awesome. So, he definitely
10:44 was pumped on that Aussie moment. The
10:46 thing that's really awesome about Jason,
10:48 not only was he a big metal head, big
10:50 old school car guy living in Missouri.
10:53 He was a big Walt Disney fan, Mickey
10:56 Mouse fan, big Walt fan. The thing about
10:59 Walt Disney fans, they're not only
11:01 normal people. A lot of them have a lot
11:03 of tattoos, big gnarly beards. Jason had
11:06 this huge gnarly, crazy biker beard. It
11:09 was awesome. Basically put this little
11:11 puny beard I have to shame. You never
11:14 know who's going to be into the Disney
11:16 stuff. And that really brought us
11:17 together. The kinship we had. Talking
11:20 about Walt Disney, a lot of history in
11:21 Kansas City. Since he was from right
11:24 outside Kansas City, just a just a few
11:27 miles. He knew a lot of history about
11:29 Walt Disney. He's the one that
11:31 originally told me where Laugh Studios
11:33 was. I went and visited that when I
11:35 visited
11:36 him. Talked about Walt Disney a lot.
11:39 Talked about my history at Disney World
11:42 and the Disneyland
11:44 stuff. So, just a big Walt Disney guy,
11:46 which you know, I am always close to
11:48 anybody Disney. So, that definitely
11:51 helped as well. is his kindness, his
11:53 friendship to me over the years and his
11:55 not only his inspiration to me because
11:58 when he started getting sick, he
12:00 continued these vlogs on his channel,
12:02 the 66 Hell Ride channel. Started to
12:04 wither away, became very skinny, skin
12:07 and bones, laying in bed, hasn't posted
12:10 a video for a couple months. Basically
12:12 hasn't even been able to text or call.
12:14 In fact, I got a text from him a couple
12:16 months ago and he even said, "Hey, I
12:19 really can't text anymore. having a hard
12:20 time utilizing my
12:23 fingers. So, very difficult, very sad.
12:26 This has kind of been my little tribute
12:29 to Jason 66 Hell Ride. I want to let you
12:32 guys know his family, his girlfriend,
12:35 longtime girlfriend, um, and his son,
12:38 his family have been trying to organize
12:40 some money. I'm going to put a link, the
12:42 very first link right down below and
12:45 I'll also post it on my Facebook page
12:47 under this video on my Facebook page
12:54 back/thedailywoo. Jason wanted to be
12:54 cremated. Family did not have a lot of
12:56 money based on doctor bills, a lot of
12:58 home care bills, a lot of in and out of
13:01 the hospital over this last 6 months to
13:03 a year. So, trying to get a little bit
13:05 of money. So, if you could do me a favor
13:07 for someone that supported me, anybody
13:10 else that supports me, at least go to
13:11 that page, donate a dollar or two, the
13:15 link will be down below. I can't
13:17 remember what it is off top of my head.
13:18 That's why I'm going to post the link
13:19 down below. So, go over there if you
13:21 would. Even if you don't donate
13:23 anything, at least on your social
13:25 networks, you know, uh, Twitter and
13:27 Facebook, take that link and repost it
13:30 for Jason, just like I'm going to repost
13:32 it to help his family out. They don't
13:35 really have a lot of money. This is the
13:37 least I can do. Honestly, this is the
13:40 absolute minimal least is to do like a
13:43 little 15minute homage. Me my memories
13:46 of 66 Hell Ride. A good friend of mine,
13:49 an inspiration. I'm never going to
13:50 forget this guy. Always had a smile on
13:53 his face. Always in a chipper mood,
13:55 always happy, always joking around, even
13:58 right to the very end. The last time I
14:00 talked to him on the phone was probably
14:02 three or four months
14:04 ago. He was very sad, but he was also
14:07 very excited because not only he knew he
14:10 was going to eventually be passing to
14:12 me. He said, "Man, I'm really excited
14:14 because I got to see my son go off to
14:17 military school and then eventually join
14:19 the military and I got to see the birth
14:22 of my grandchild and hold my
14:25 grandchild." So, he's very content even
14:27 to the very end. So, this one goes out
14:29 to you 66 Hell
14:33 Ride. I don't know what else to say. So,
14:36 I'm definitely very bummed out, but I'm
14:38 also very excited to have met a great
14:41 friend that I'm always going to
14:43 remember. And I'm going to continue
14:44 these videos for 66 Hell Ride and for
14:47 everyone else that can't go out and do
14:49 their own thing anymore. I love all you
14:52 guys. And Jason, I love you too,
14:55 man. Bye.
