0:02 today's adventure brings us to Silver
0:02 Dollar City a theme park in Branson
0:04 Missouri where Christmas is already in
0:08 full swing and judging by these clocks
0:10 we're going to be transported back to
0:13 the theming of
0:15 1888 welcome everyone Adam the woo here
0:18 not only is this the first time I've
0:20 ever set foot at this particular
0:23 establishment but later on this evening
0:25 when the Sun goes down this tree will be
0:29 illuminated as well as the rest of the
0:32 premises with
0:34 6.5 million
0:36 lights join me shall you according to
0:40 this there's going to be a lot of ground
0:42 to cover thank you Bush for temporarily
0:45 holding my
0:57 map
0:57 Christ in order to get to my first
1:00 destination must cross this rickety
1:01 Bridge no running or jumping allowed and
1:04 I understand why it's very very bouncy
1:08 there's gravestones in the water I've
1:10 been wanting to go on this attraction
1:12 for years now and I finally made it it's
1:14 time for the flooded mine I hope this
1:18 doesn't apply to me the warden's name
1:21 just so happens to be in O
1:25 parole oh I get it you'll pick up your
1:28 and chain the next Gard station and
1:32 don't be a bad mou in the G you'll get
1:35 an extra 6 months on the Rock there are
1:39 inmates guiding the q line I'm in your
1:42 party sir just me just one five please
1:44 thank you thank you
2:03 they're all in the holiday
2:05 spirit I love the sounds of creakiness
2:08 adds to the Ambiance you are also
2:10 allowed to take a gun and shoot at the
2:13 characters but I am more enamored in the
2:16 theming than anything else
2:36 Canary up there just to make sure
2:36 there's no gas
2:38 escaping I'm getting out of here don't
2:41 matter
2:48 what oh yeah take
2:48 that the Temptation was too strong I had
2:51 to I had to play along making my way
2:54 over to this Lagoon the Lost River of
2:57 the Ozarks ride appears to be shut down
3:01 makes sense though this is not the time
3:02 of the year to get people wet in fact
3:05 they Place trees where you stand to do
3:08 the soaking I'm noticing there's a lot
3:10 of walking involved and a lot of Hills a
3:12 lot of angles so bring your tennis shoes
3:15 I spy a cringle up there just kind of
3:18 looming over everyone unbeknownst to
3:21 them I have the camera pointed at a
3:23 normal angle just to give the
3:24 perspective of the setup of the roads
3:28 and how steep they are spin the buggy
3:30 Wheel of
3:32 Fortune round and round it goes where it
3:35 will stop only the wheel this thing just
3:40 this thing goes a little bit longer than
3:42 than I thought it would you got to be
3:44 patient and the answer
3:51 is smile let the world wonder what
3:51 you're up to
4:03 this is the Wilderness church and they
4:05 still have services in there on occasion
4:08 and looking down from where the pulpit
4:10 is get a pretty good view of this little
4:13 village Jim hunt says Daniel Boone
4:16 nearly killed him a Grizzly bar on this
4:18 spot in
4:30 1882 the day daily count of people
4:30 horses mules and carriages that have
4:33 crossed this toll bridge and the rates
4:36 are posted right up there and you would
4:39 give your money to this gentleman with
4:42 the festive hat on Wow check it out now
4:47 in Bedford Falls that's pretty cool you
4:50 can board Dumbo's nephew pretty sure his
4:53 name is
4:55 Steven is it just me or are these Peter
4:58 panes pirate ships moving incredibly
5:02 quickly I have not sped this footage up
5:05 at all this is real
5:22 time words of wisdom by Tom Anderson the
5:22 best way to see a snake in the grass is
5:24 to just cut the grass starting to work
5:27 up quite an appetite think I'm going to
5:29 get myself some kettle chips now that is
5:31 a theme park delicacy if ever there was
5:34 one and for just a dollar extra you can
5:36 get cheese layered all over
5:59 them here's the old hotel now an ice
5:59 cream
6:00 parlor and of course no Community is not
6:03 complete without a general store the
6:06 building attached named The Farmhouse
6:08 kind of looks like a A Haunted House of
6:10 sorts the story you hear most often is
6:13 that one night a big storm came up and
6:16 pled one of the Taffy shops on the
6:18 boardwalk the next morning when the
6:20 owner went in he was pretty disgusted
6:23 about what happened in so when a little
6:25 girl came in and asked him do you have
6:28 any tappy he said all I have is
6:32 saltwater ta this is officially our
6:34 Taffy
6:36 snake all right this machine's going to
6:38 cut and wrap the TA it is 85 years old
6:42 almost as old as
6:45 Mitch he just feels he F that way today
6:48 yes we've been very busy lately okay
6:50 what's going to happen is a t Taffy goes
6:52 up this ramp the wheels grab the tappy
6:54 and pull it along and they pull it
6:57 straight down a hole that nice swing
6:59 continually in a circle and cuts the
7:06 tappy the TA didn't is this anybody's
7:06 cup it'll be very fast
7:08 you the paper
7:11 comes the paper comes around here and
7:13 gets cut here the paper and then the
7:15 tacky are pushed into this brass wheel
7:18 it swings around and there's two
7:19 flippers on either side that grab the
7:21 Taffy paper and in the all right this is
7:25 noisy
8:00 samples still warm
8:00 down inside this log cabin is a musical
8:02 group called The Homestead Pickers who
8:03 are about to perform okay start them out
8:06 with the horn week I heard my horn
8:09 playing compared to the great Louis
8:11 Armstrong
8:12 that must pretty good yeah yeah he he
8:15 said boy that guy sure ain't no Lou
8:22 Armstrong that on
8:25 bucket with a big brown biscuit I can
8:40 Ain up it's really
8:47 hot
8:47 actually and
8:55 cool now Charlie Ruff at top we're going
8:59 to put
9:26 flight say Merry Christmas
9:26 Steve goes according to plan we might
9:28 see him back Christmas morning now folks
9:30 on over there past de you're going to
9:32 see half a doar 6 and2 million Christmas
9:35 lights on Park this year it's beginning
9:37 to look like Christmas is just right
9:39 around the
9:54 that but you know that was the thing
9:54 about old Grandpa he wouldn't let us
9:56 open up one single Christmas present
9:58 till he satis all down and told us a
10:00 true story of Christmas sometimes when I
10:03 close my eyes and I listen real close I
10:05 can still almost hear my old grandpa say
10:08 well Merry Christmas kids I so good to
10:12 see you well Grandma and I been
10:15 expecting you of course she's in the
10:17 cabin right now going through the pantry
10:19 making sure we have everything we need
10:21 for Thanksgiving
10:22 dinner oh I love this time of year it's
10:26 the holiday season Thanksgiving is
10:28 almost here and that means Christmas is
10:32 just around the corner and that's my
10:34 favorite
10:35 time oh it's time when friends and
10:37 family start to come home people are
10:40 getting together to go places and well
10:42 everybody just seems friendlier and
10:45 happier I just wish we could be that way
10:47 all the time
11:10 train as with every amusement park they
11:10 have a smoker's area
11:14 designated right here where'd he go
11:17 where the heck did oh they're looking up
11:21 oh he's taking a little Slumber little
11:23 nappage up there on the moon directly in
11:26 front of fire station number three
11:30 is Clyde's old number
11:34 one that's the way they used to put out
11:36 fires with Contraptions like
11:39 that this thing is an impressive piece
11:42 of antique machinery
12:02 that was a wise choice for him to
12:11 move quite a few people waiting to get
12:11 in the saloon both levels completely
12:15 filled up it's a popular spot today no
12:18 photographs so this is a governmental
12:21 operation you work for the government no
12:24 so that's the finished product but it
12:26 begins it begins with these right oh
12:28 down size4 half basically I'm changing
12:32 the size and the color from this dark
12:34 brown from smoking of the skin to per
12:37 color like this and then it's completely
12:38 done so it expanded expands quite a bit
12:41 Yeah ratio natur does the heat make it
12:45 expand or the water yeah you can
12:47 actually microwave them also
12:49 just so if I get this bag I can just
12:52 throw them in the microwave and it'll
12:53 you wouldn't want to throw the whole bag
12:54 in there one lb bag of these cook makes
12:57 about 5,000 bar back
13:03 that's it once you got all that dark
13:03 color out of it they're ready we're not
13:07 actually consumable in this state here
13:09 this is a a dehydration process for
13:12 long-term dry storage it's the
13:14 grandfather's Mansion holy crap that's
13:17 the grand that's the grandfather
13:21 oh oh he's floating up there on the
13:25 ceiling he's on the he's on the the roof
13:28 of the home
13:35 you'll notice this entire room is at an
13:35 extreme
13:37 angle very difficult to keep your
13:40 equilibrium now that the sun has gone
13:42 down a bit let's look at some lights oh
13:44 6 and a half million of them Christmas
13:47 in
13:57 Midtown safe to say the festiveness is
13:57 in full effect there's even a little
13:59 chill in the air which helps add to the
14:02 experience every nook and cranny every
14:04 cranny and Nook completely engulfed
14:08 something even Clark Griswald would be
14:10 most impressed with the banner
14:12 stretching across say Merry Christmas
14:15 Merry Christmas indeed and is it just me
14:18 or some of these displays awfully
14:21 familiar looking it's never been
14:22 completely confirmed but that Globe sure
14:25 rings a bell to use an already coined
14:28 phrase Christmas is starting now the
14:31 crowds have definitely arrived so many
14:34 people they're being funneled through
14:36 that Lit Up tunnel there to the right
14:39 and over on this side there are two of
14:41 them it's like a fork in the road of
14:50 sorts even though you step out of
14:50 Midtown don't think that's the end of
14:52 the lights all the rest of the park is
14:54 also illuminated granted not quite as
14:57 many as the centralized area but pretty
15:00 much the entire park is lit up every
15:03 possible
15:18 safe
15:18 dad are you my
15:30 dad at this point I'm kind of looking
15:30 for an area that's not completely
15:34 engulfed check it out from the bottom of
15:36 the hill looking upward I got to get
15:39 back up there and become immersed once
15:41 again but not before one last Gander on
15:45 the bottom level
16:20 rough guess what do you think the
16:20 approximate electricity bill is to run
16:23 all these each and every
16:26 evening probably not cheap this wreath
16:29 alone has to be a Humdinger on its own
16:32 to power up that's going to do it for
16:34 today from Silver Dollar City Travel
16:36 Channel just designated this place the
16:38 most illuminated Park on Earth all in
16:42 all a successful first visit at some
16:46 point I will I think I have a I have a
16:49 little spider web standing underneath
16:51 this tree right
