0:05 Welcome everyone. Adam the Woo
0:05 here. It's foggy
0:08 today. Just cruising down the road and
0:11 there's a lot of fog out. It's not as
0:15 thick as pea soup. Maybe I should get
0:17 out there and lap up some of this
0:30 It's my second channel, daily vlog
0:30 channel. It's uh Yeah, the daily
0:34 woo. Hello, West
0:37 Virginia.
0:47 Yes, there's an old abandoned IG grocery
0:47 store. Someone has smashed in the front
0:52 doors.
0:59 Hillbilly Hot Dogs. Hillbilly Wedding
1:00 Chapel. And look up there, there's a van
1:03 my size up in the tree.
1:25 Step on the party
1:36 bus. This is
1:48 awesome. This cylinder is spitting out
1:48 hillbilly moonshine. And look inside the
1:51 tub. There's two ducks in there just
2:02 chilling. And you can stick your head
2:02 through one of these cutouts. I sure do
2:04 like hillbilly hot
2:19 dogs. Off the side of the road. There
2:19 are three crosses on the side of the
2:21 hill. And story is told years and years
2:24 and years ago, there was a guy who
2:26 traveled all across the United States
2:28 asking permission of different towns to
2:32 put these crosses up. There aren't many
2:34 that remain, but there's some right
2:36 there. It's pretty neat. There's
2:38 something here in West Virginia that I
2:39 have wanted to see for a very long time,
2:42 and it is adorning the front of this
2:46 tourist magazine.
2:49 The Moth Man. The tale of the Moth Man
2:51 started in the 1960s in a town just a
2:55 couple miles ahead by the name of Point
2:57 Pleasant, West Virginia. There's a
3:00 Piggly Wiggly. I haven't seen one of
3:02 those in years. The first recorded
3:04 accounts of the Moth Man were in
3:06 November of
3:08 1966 when five gravediggers spotted the
3:12 creature flying above them. But it
3:14 really didn't come to the town's
3:16 attention until 3 days later when a
3:19 couple were driving on the outskirts of
3:20 town and the moth man was chasing their
3:23 car. And what a bizarre coincidence that
3:25 the mutated creature would first be seen
3:28 and documented near those
3:54 Imagine driving through here at
3:54 night and a creature with a 10-ft
3:58 wingspan in the form of a moth attacks
4:01 your
4:02 car. I honestly don't know where I'm
4:05 going. I'm just kind of, no pun
4:08 intended, winging it.
4:19 Whoa. Is that a door? So, the story goes
4:19 in November of 1966, the government was
4:25 keeping things they shouldn't have been
4:27 kept inside these
4:30 bunkers.
4:53 echoey. Don't
4:53 go.
5:30 This could have been where the moth
5:30 man mutated.
5:33 That was the weirdest
5:43 experience. Over the next 13 months,
5:43 there were numerous accounts of people
5:45 who had runins with the Moth Man. But
5:48 all that came to an end on December
5:50 15th,
5:52 1967 when the bridge that used to sit
5:57 right there where the Silver Memorial
6:00 Bridge now sits collapsed, killing over
6:04 40 people. As the legend goes, some of
6:07 the town folk said they saw the Moth Man
6:10 up on the rafters of the old bridge that
6:14 fell down into the river. But since
6:16 then, the Moth Man has never been seen
6:19 again. And this question still remains
6:21 if this was the demise of the Moth Man.
6:24 Was he trying to save the people or was
6:26 he trying to destroy the bridge? The
6:29 only way to really find out is to go to
6:31 the source
6:33 itself, the Moth
6:35 Man. How about it,
6:37 buddy? What was your
6:40 mindset with the bridge? He's behind me,
6:43 isn't he? And here in downtown, they
6:46 have the world's only Moth Man Museum.
6:52 I got to check this out, Doc.
7:06 There have been so many sites around the
7:06 world prior to that were just beyond our
7:11 comprehension.
7:21 This is a replica of the car driven by
7:21 Roger Scarberry on the night of November
7:24 15th, 1966 when the couple was driving
7:27 and the Moth Man chased their vehicle. A
7:30 lot of different interpretations of what
7:31 the Moth Man looked like. He seems like
7:34 a pretty cool guy.
8:09 Wow, this is crazy. This is a 1960s
8:09 school book that someone drew what looks
8:12 to be like the Moth Man in their school
8:16 book. It's creepy.
8:35 That place was awesome. I got some
8:35 stuff. I got this t-shirt and this book.
8:37 It has a lot of the letters of the
8:40 personal accounts of people who saw the
8:41 Moth Man, as well as a lot of the
8:43 newspaper articles from some of the
8:45 local papers. Here's one of the original
8:47 eyewitness
8:48 sketches of the Moth Man.
9:23 droppings down
9:23 paint that building inside of us. But
9:25 I'm going to scrap them.
9:36 They got some really cool stuff on the
9:36 wall. People that come in here and eat,
9:38 they draw the moth man on the back of
9:40 their place mats. Some of these are
9:42 really, really cool.
10:09 Man. One thing cool about West Virginia,
10:13 there's a lot of really old, awesome
10:15 looking bridges.
10:26 That sign over there says Italian
10:30 meatball. Try
10:32 one. Is that the entire sub or they want
10:35 you to just try one meatball? Oh, check
10:37 that
10:39 out. Got to loop back around and get a
10:41 better view at that. That's Paul Bunan
10:43 right
10:44 there in that ox. Such a
10:51 babe. Sky over there is looking pretty
10:53 beautiful this evening. And off over
10:56 here to the
10:57 left is some sort of museum which looks
11:00 to be themed around the fast food
11:03 restaurant Big Boy. The way it appears,
11:05 however, you cannot walk inside this
11:08 museum. All it is is this little
11:11 circular area with some windows that you
11:14 can peer into.
11:29 There's an old menu down here. Oh, whoa,
11:29 look. There's a shown bear in
11:33 here. Is there some kind of crazy
11:35 connection with big boy and
11:39 shownies? Are they in
11:42 cahoots? I never knew that.
11:52 Wow. Yeah. Look, this is an old shown
11:52 menu and they sell the famous Big Boy at
11:55 Shownies. Okay, this is making a little
11:57 more sense now. On this spot in
12:00 1947, there was a Shownies Big Boy
12:04 created and started right here where
12:08 this
12:09 monument now sits.
12:16 That's interesting. I had no idea it
12:16 started in West Virginia. There's one
12:19 thing I've noticed about the drone. It
12:22 definitely is a conversation piece. The
12:24 guy that owns this property came out and
12:25 watched me fly it. We were talking about
12:26 how it worked and the uh specifics of it
12:29 and things like that. But I got some
12:31 cool shots not only of the big boy, but
12:34 also the sunset and the river and the
12:37 bridges and things like that. And I am
12:39 closing out this vlog in Charleston,
12:42 West Virginia. Look how majestic that
12:44 looks. The
12:47 beauty of the
12:50 sunsets. Vlog over.
