0:08 here. That's a Star Wars poster hanging
0:08 in my kitchen. It is raining outside,
0:12 which is kind of rare for Southern
0:14 California. When I say raining, it's not
0:16 pouring. It's just kind of drizzling a
0:17 little bit. But you know what? We will
0:19 take what we can get out here. It's my
0:22 second channel, Daily Vlog channel. It's
0:24 the daily Woo. Why am I starting with
0:26 the Star Wars poster? Because this vlog
0:29 is going to be about Star Wars. Now,
0:32 it's not about the phenomenal, hyped up
0:36 movie that is coming out less than a
0:37 week. The Force Awakens will be rearing
0:39 its head into our lives. I am talking
0:42 about old school Star Wars. Star Wars or
0:47 Empire Strikes Back or even Return of
0:49 the Jedi is what I'm referring to. Now,
0:53 as a kid, this trilogy of films meant a
0:56 lot to me. And I used to have a lot of
0:58 the toys, especially from Return of the
1:00 Jedi, some from Empire Strikes Back and
1:03 some from the original Star Wars. But in
1:07 the last few days, I have actually had
1:09 this
1:11 very, very strong thought process that I
1:15 need to rekindle my joy of Star Wars
1:19 toys from my youth. that
1:22 unfortunately as I got into my teenage
1:25 years, I sold off at a garage sale.
1:28 Sadly, I used to have one of those Darth
1:30 Vader
1:31 uh figure holders full of all the Return
1:34 of the Jedi figures, and I sold those at
1:37 a garage sale for an
1:39 exorbitantly cheap amount of money back
1:42 a long time ago in probably the mid to
1:46 late 80s. And I still regret doing that.
1:50 And I have decided that I now that I
1:53 actually have a place to reside and I
1:56 actually have a little bit of area to
1:58 put some knickknacks and patty wax and
2:01 if I had a dog I would give him a bone.
2:03 But pets are not allowed here so there
2:04 is no dog or a bone. But there is
2:07 room for Star Wars toys. And I would
2:10 actually like to bring you in to my very
2:14 first old school vintage Star Wars toy
2:19 purchase starting today. This is a
2:21 historic occasion. I have pretty much
2:24 decided that I'm probably going to spend
2:26 20, maybe $30 a month over the next year
2:30 or two. This will probably not
2:31 accomplish my goal, but I don't want to
2:33 spend too much. I'm hopefully finding
2:35 some toys at garage sales, estate sales,
2:39 thrift stores, antique places, maybe
2:41 even on Craigslist or eBay. And this is
2:43 where I want to bring you into my world
2:45 and ask your opinion on where you can
2:48 get vintage Star Wars toys at a
2:52 reasonable price. Now, not necessarily.
2:53 I really do not necessarily need them in
2:56 perfect pristine A+ mint condition if
3:01 you follow Beckett's baseball card
3:04 rules. You do I do not need all that. I
3:06 just need the memories. I need the
3:09 figures. I need the vehicles from the
3:11 original trilogy. I don't need the Power
3:13 of the Four stuff or whatever came later
3:16 on when they put the movies back out in
3:18 the theater. I want the original 1970s
3:21 into the early 1980s toys. Not
3:24 necessarily having to have like all the
3:26 lightsabers and the guns. I just want
3:29 the figures. Not necessarily on the
3:31 cards, meaning they're in new shape. I'm
3:33 actually going to play with my toys and
3:36 pretend I'm Han Solo and pretend Jabba
3:38 the Hut is in there in the fortress. I
3:41 want to do all that. I want the Ewok
3:43 village and the rancor eventually over
3:46 time. I want all that stuff. And pretty
3:48 much since I do not want to spend an
3:50 exorbitant amount of money on these
3:53 vintage OG, you could call them Star
3:56 Wars toys, I will probably end up
3:59 getting basically the toys I will
4:01 probably be getting will have lots of
4:02 scuffs on them, a lot of damaged areas,
4:05 but that does not matter because it's
4:07 all about rekindling the toys I had in
4:10 my youth. And I have started this
4:13 process with something that is in this
4:17 bag. You can probably see what it is
4:20 right here. This is not a very good a
4:22 good hidden bag, but I actually picked
4:25 something up at a garage sale and I have
4:27 not cleaned it. I have not done anything
4:29 to it since I purchased it. And I would
4:32 like to show you what is going to start
4:35 this new actually old but new Star Wars
4:40 collection that I am actually starting
4:43 today. So that's what this vlog is
4:45 about. If you're looking for an updated
4:48 detailed Star Wars toy vlog, this is not
4:52 the vlog you're looking for. This is not
4:54 the vlog you are looking for. I am a
4:57 beginner. I am not a self-proclaimed
5:00 afficionado of toys. I just wanted to
5:02 bring the joy that I am actually feeling
5:05 right now and the future joy that
5:07 hopefully I will be developing over the
5:09 next year or two by collecting the
5:12 original Star Wars. I have to focus on
5:15 those words. The original original three
5:18 before the prequels came out before the
5:21 Force Awakens. I'm not really interested
5:23 in any of that newer quote unquote newer
5:26 toys and the newer stuff. I want the old
5:28 school. I want the nittygritty, the
5:30 dirty, the down and dirty trilogy is
5:33 what I am looking for. And I started
5:35 today by actually getting and finding at
5:39 a garage sale Luke's speeder. Look at
5:45 this. It's Luke's speeder right here.
5:49 And here's the
5:51 seat. Look at this.
6:00 I picked this up
6:00 today. I picked this up today at a
6:03 garage sale and it's in pretty good
6:05 shape. It is not in perfect condition.
6:07 And I actually texted my friend Count
6:09 Stankis who is actually a expert. I
6:12 would call him an expert on toys. He has
6:15 the toy room of insanity. And I texted
6:18 him and I said, "Is this worth getting?"
6:20 and he said, "The things you want to
6:21 look for are these stickers underneath
6:24 here and the stickers underneath the
6:27 windshield here. And you want to make
6:29 sure that the gear shift knob actually
6:31 works. I tested it out and it actually
6:34 works. And I got a pretty good deal on
6:37 Luke's Star Speeder. Look at this. Now,
6:40 I have not cleaned it. Now, I'm actually
6:42 going to take some cleaner, clean it
6:44 off. But I wanted to show you basically
6:46 what I picked up for a heck of a deal.
6:49 starting my old school Star Wars
6:52 collection. Look at this. And here is
6:55 that gear shift I was talking about
6:57 right here. Watch
6:58 this. So, basically, you shift the gear
7:02 and look what's inside of here. We have
7:03 some kind of like a little piece of a
7:04 berry or a nut or something. Some sort
7:07 of outside outside thing that was stuck
7:11 inside of there. So, let's get rid of
7:12 that. But basically, you just take this
7:17 and you can shift the gear and the tires
7:20 come up and
7:22 down. See, watch that. Look at that. The
7:25 tires go up and down on the bottom of
7:27 it. So, it's actually in working good
7:30 working shape. The springs are inside
7:33 there working perfectly. And look
7:35 underneath. You can actually see the
7:37 date stamp on it saying the late 1970s.
7:40 And also there is a old Star Wars
7:43 sticker that someone whoever owned this
7:45 either a child or an adult has stuck on
7:48 there. And part of the sticker if you
7:50 take these seats out part of the sticker
7:53 is still in here. So let's see if we can
7:55 see the sticker. Oh, look at this. Look.
7:58 Look at this. I forgot as well. There
8:01 are a couple of weapons that were inside
8:04 there also. There's a couple of weapons
8:07 in
8:08 there. Now, I cannot find that sticker.
8:11 There was a sticker from the bottom of
8:13 it in there as well. Part of that
8:15 sticker had fallen off. Oh, here it is.
8:17 Look at this. This sticker has a date
8:20 stamp of 1980 on it. 1980 sticker, which
8:24 was that sticker. Of course, this toy
8:27 was from
8:29 1978. Kenner Products
8:33 1978. But look at that. The stickers
8:36 there on the front are still there. It
8:40 rides along and glides pretty good.
8:42 Glides pretty well. The gear shift works
8:46 great. That is so cool. Look at that. Of
8:49 course, you got to put the seats in. I'm
8:50 going to clean all this up. It's still
8:52 in its very dirty stages, but I'm going
8:55 to clean it up. Got a couple guns. Got
8:57 that 1980 sticker on the bottom of it.
8:59 And check this out. Inside here, this
9:02 actually works, too. This pops open.
9:04 You pop open the hood and look at
9:07 that. Look at that. There's a sticker
9:10 still there from the
9:13 late 1970s. And here's a number here. I
9:16 don't know what this number maybe you
9:17 guys know that know more about toys than
9:18 I do. There's a number stamped there. It
9:20 says
9:22 01780. I don't know what that means. if
9:24 it's some sort of authenticity number or
9:27 the model number or that maybe is the
9:29 number in order of how they produce
9:32 these. But that is very very cool. Works
9:35 great. Now I just need to get Luke and
9:38 C3PO in there. Now I love all the old
9:41 school Star Wars toys. I want to get the
9:44 Star Wars stuff. Return of the Jedi
9:46 holds a special place in my heart. I
9:47 want to get the Ewok Village. I want to
9:49 get the Java playset. I want to get the
9:50 Rancor. I want to get the Rancor Keeper.
9:52 I want to get the Gorian guards. I want
9:54 to get the Emperor's royal guards. I
9:56 want to get all that stuff. Over time,
9:58 I'm going to be building up a
10:00 collection. But I thought you guys would
10:02 like to know I'm starting with this.
10:05 This is what I am starting with. Very
10:08 cool. Please chime in if you have any
10:10 any suggestions on where I can get
10:12 different toys around Orange County,
10:14 California. I'm always open to
10:16 suggestions to find stuff like this. Do
10:18 you get your toys? If you are a
10:20 collector, do you get your toys on eBay?
10:23 Do you get them at a store? Do you get
10:24 them at garage sales? Do you trade other
10:27 collectors? What is the best way? Now,
10:30 I'm going to actually be tapping into
10:31 the brain of Count Stankus, my good
10:33 friend, who actually does toy reviews on
10:35 his channel, Count Stankus. He has a lot
10:38 of store Star Wars toys. He has a room
10:40 called the toy room of insanity. Check
10:43 out his channel. He is going to be my
10:45 Jedi. He is going to be my Yoda. and
10:47 he's going to be helping me complete my
10:49 collection. It's not going to be
10:51 accomplished in a short time. It's going
10:53 to take a very just like becoming a Jedi
10:55 does not happen overnight. And getting
10:57 all the original trilogy toys will also
11:01 be a lifelong process. Leave some
11:04 comments and I'll see you guys tomorrow
11:05 in the next vlog. Hope you enjoyed this
11:07 one. See you later. Goodbye.
