0:06 Welcome everyone. Out of the Woo here,
0:06 Niceville Christian Church. I'm in
0:08 Niceville, Florida. I've actually left
0:10 St. Cloud, Florida this morning and I've
0:12 dri drove driven or driven or drove,
0:15 whichever way you want to pronounce it.
0:16 I have not slept very much. I woke up
0:18 about 500 a.m. left St. Cloud around 6.
0:23 Traveled up I75, connected with I 10.
0:26 I'm heading westbound. I'll be spending
0:28 the next few days on Interstate 10 until
0:30 I get to California. But I had to make a
0:32 pit stop in the hometown where I grew up
0:34 from 1984 to
0:37 1988. And I've done a few other videos.
0:40 In fact, I've done three other
0:41 locations, the house I grew up in a
0:44 couple years ago, the school I went to
0:46 school at, and there was one other
0:48 video, which I cannot recall where that
0:50 was, but this video is from the church
0:52 that my dad was the minister at. all
0:55 four or five of those years that we
0:58 lived here. Right through here was the
1:00 pulpit, the congregation, and the pews.
1:02 All still in there. In fact, today is
1:04 Sunday. They actually did have church
1:05 service. But we had lunch. And I say we
1:08 cuz I'm talking about Alex right here,
1:12 who's not a Niceville resident. He lives
1:14 in Crest, which is about 15 minutes or
1:16 so away from Niceville. But we met up
1:19 and he took me to Po Folks. PO Folks is
1:22 a southern restaurant and it's right
1:24 down here. If you look past this light,
1:28 PO Folks was not here when I lived here
1:30 as a child, but now you can barely see
1:32 it. On the right hand side, past that
1:35 gas station, there's a really awesome
1:37 place called Po Folks. It was actually
1:39 the first place as a child that I
1:40 actually ate and consumed a moon pie.
1:45 It's my second channel, daily vlog
1:47 channel. It's the
1:48 Daily Niceville Christian Church and
1:52 Alex trying to hide from the vlog, but
1:54 he's not. He's actually in the vlog
1:56 right there. He's wearing a Back to the
1:59 Future shirt. He also is a fan and like
2:02 I always like to say, a self-proclaimed
2:05 afficionado of8s pop culture. I am
2:09 wearing my large Marge sent me t-shirt.
2:12 He's wearing his time machine Delorean
2:14 t-shirt. And when we were at PO folks,
2:16 the server who was seating us was very
2:19 excited because he also was into pop
2:21 culture. He was showing us his Doctor
2:23 Who watch. What else was he talking
2:25 about? He also had what was his tattoos
2:27 that guy had? Like he had tattoos on his
2:29 arms. What was the Boondock Saints?
2:32 There you go. So he was very excited to
2:34 see two 80s nerds like us walk in there
2:38 in ho, folks. But I wanted to show you
2:40 this awesome place. This is a place from
2:43 my youth. A little history, a little
2:46 atom history right here. It's amazing
2:49 how everything looks so much smaller
2:51 when you returned something from your
2:53 childhood. I remember running around
2:55 here, coming up here on my bike. We only
2:57 lived about a two miles from here.
2:59 Riding my bike up here to see my dad.
3:01 His office was in the back of the
3:02 church. Actually, a few years ago, I
3:05 came up here and there was actually
3:06 somebody at the church. And I actually
3:08 got to go inside and reminisce and walk
3:11 through the church itself, see my dad's
3:15 old office. Right over here was actually
3:17 the church nursery. Right in here is
3:19 where the kids would actually be being
3:22 watched. The little infants and little
3:23 toddlers while the sermon was being
3:27 taught and preached. Right over here.
3:29 Also, this that little shed right there
3:32 has always been there. And this used to
3:34 be a volleyball court. And one thing I
3:36 always remember, there was lots of
3:37 thorns and stickers and ants all around
3:40 in here. But they've actually cleaned
3:42 out all those thorns, and it actually
3:43 looked pretty nice now. They actually
3:45 have a whole new parking area. My dad's
3:48 office was right around this back
3:49 corner. So, if you went past this little
3:52 play area that was not here and you went
3:55 in that door, that was my dad's. That
3:57 was the pastor's office right through
4:00 there.
4:02 I also remember one time there was a
4:03 massive hurricane coming through this
4:06 area of Florida and everyone in the
4:08 church actually parked all their cars
4:11 right in here side by side. That way if
4:13 there was a huge gust of wind or a
4:14 tornado, the cars couldn't be tossed
4:16 around. All the cars were less than an
4:18 inch from each other, all here in the
4:20 grass and all on that concrete. And we
4:23 spent all our time hunkered down in
4:26 those windows right in there playing
4:28 Monopoly and board games, but there was
4:30 no power. So, a lot of
4:34 memories right here at Niceville
4:36 Christian
4:38 Church. One thing that's very
4:40 interesting also is we actually a little
4:42 funny story that my dad, if he's
4:44 watching this, by the way, today is my
4:45 dad's birthday. So, if you follow my dad
4:49 either on Facebook or YouTube, wish him
4:52 a happy birthday from his son. I left
4:55 early this morning. Gave him a hug. Gave
4:57 my mom a hug. Heading cross country
5:00 after a wonderful week of Christmas with
5:02 my aunt, my uncle, my mom, and my dad.
5:05 But today is my dad's birthday. And a
5:07 little momento for you, Dad. Remember
5:09 when we actually buried the time capsule
5:12 right here at the Niceville? You know
5:14 what a time capsule is? Yes, I do. What
5:16 exactly is a time capsule? Time capsule
5:18 is You're wearing a time machine shirt.
5:20 So, you should be you should definitely
5:22 be an expert on time traveling. Yes.
5:25 Time capsule is when you just take a lot
5:27 of books, items from that year that you
5:30 actually put that in the ground and then
5:33 you bury it and then like 50, 100 years
5:35 ago, you dig it up and say, "Wow, look
5:37 at all this cool stuff, all this cool
5:38 crap." That's how it's supposed to
5:40 hypothetically work. So what they did
5:42 here, my dad spearheaded this entire
5:45 project of taking mmentotos of the past.
5:49 Now they're from the past, but in that
5:50 time they were the present. Put them in
5:52 a box that would not get weather damaged
5:54 and buried it in the ground. The problem
5:58 is years went by and they could not
6:01 actually I'm incorrect. They were trying
6:03 to find an old time capsule that was
6:05 buried 30 or 40 years ago and they
6:07 couldn't find it. That's the story. I
6:09 got it wrong. and my dad and all the
6:11 church member adults were out here with
6:14 shovels and post hole diggers and they
6:18 dug up every nook and cranny of this
6:21 property. And my dad can tell you they
6:24 did not find anything. So the entire
6:27 place was ravaged. Looked like something
6:29 out of Catty Shack when you're looking
6:31 for the gophers. They could not find the
6:33 time capsule. So somewhere on this
6:36 property, we have to know what we could
6:38 do the rest of the day. We could hunt
6:39 down the time capsule if I did not have
6:42 to continue moving on. I'm only here for
6:44 a short while. We've already eaten. Our
6:46 stomachs are filled. So, lots of yarns.
6:49 I got the time capsule thing wrong. I
6:51 was incorrect, but I got it right in the
6:53 grand scheme of things. At the end, I
6:55 redeemed myself of the time capsule. And
6:58 one other cool story. The whole main
7:00 reason I wanted to stop here was to give
7:03 you a lesson in humility because this in
7:07 my youth I moved here in 1984. It would
7:10 have been 10 years old until ' 89. So
7:12 from 10 years old to 15 years old.
7:14 Niceville, Florida was a very fantastic
7:16 place. And since you're wearing a Back
7:18 to the Future shirt, this was the town I
7:20 actually saw Back to the Future. Back to
7:22 the Future came out in 1985. Of course,
7:25 I moved here in '84. We lived over about
7:27 a mile or two from here on Hudson
7:29 Circle. I discovered Mountain Dew, which
7:32 I am obsessed with Mountain Dew now here
7:33 at Niceville. And I also discovered the
7:36 greatest movie ever created, 1985,
7:38 Robert Zamecha's classic, Back to the
7:40 Future. So definitely a lot of memories
7:42 here. First time reveal of that. No,
7:44 it's not. But I always love talking
7:46 about Back to the Future. Anytime I can
7:48 just throw that in there and how it's
7:50 the greatest movie for me, I always like
7:52 throwing that in there. But another
7:54 memory for me is the very first time I
7:57 was put in my place by being having an
8:01 ego or bragging a little too much.
8:04 Judging by the figure I have now and my
8:06 physique now, you would never actually
8:07 guess that I was actually quite the
8:09 runner when I was a child. I won a lot
8:12 of awards. I actually won one of those
8:14 medals, the Billy Bolegs Midnight Run.
8:17 Do they still have that? Billy Bole.
8:19 They still have it. The Billy Bo See, he
8:21 knows what I'm talking about. Billy
8:22 Boleg's Midnight Run. I ran track at the
8:25 Rocky Bayou Christian School. I was the
8:29 pretty much the fastest kid in school at
8:32 that age. I was very young. I had no fat
8:35 on my body, which is the complete
8:36 opposite of what we're dealing with
8:39 right now. And I got a little cocky. I
8:41 got a little bit of an ego. I thought I
8:42 could beat anyone. And one day at youth
8:46 group, there was a group of two guys
8:49 that showed up to the youth group. And
8:52 the one of them, there were two
8:53 brothers. One of the brothers said, "My
8:54 brother is the fastest person on earth
8:56 or in this town, whatever." So, he
9:00 battled me to a race that happened right
9:04 here starting where my van is parked a
9:06 little bit farther back. It was a
9:07 full-on sprint. What would that probably
9:09 be? 30 yards. And it ended right here
9:11 where this X is, right about in here.
9:14 What would that be from the van to here?
9:16 Maybe a little farther than the van. 20
9:19 yards, 30 yards. It was a 20 or a 30
9:22 yard dash. So, we came out here. I was
9:25 bragging, I cannot be beaten. I cannot
9:27 be beaten. I cannot be beaten. I,
9:30 spoiler alert, was
9:32 beaten and I tucked my head between my
9:36 legs and I felt like a schmuck because I
9:38 bragged and bragged and bragged. And
9:41 that was the first time in my life that
9:43 I actually
9:45 remember
9:47 bragging and they always say pride goes
9:49 before a fall. I fell and I lost. So I
9:53 learned a lesson in humility right here
9:56 in front of Niceville Christian Church
10:00 appropriately. So, a little m a little
10:02 momento of memory for me that I've
10:04 shared now with Alex. Back to the future
10:07 lover and southern food generous cooker.
10:12 You didn't cook the food. You just ate
10:13 the food. Yes. Enjoyed it as well.
10:15 Enjoyed it very well. I don't know if he
10:16 really likes southern food. I actually
10:18 suggested that and you were like I don't
10:21 I don't want to say what you texted back
10:22 or you put on Instagram back. But he has
10:25 quite the memory of PO folks. We won't
10:27 bring that up cuz we don't want PO folks
10:29 seeing that. I love PO folks. But PO
10:32 folks is more of a memory than it is
10:36 it's not it's not like you go there
10:37 because it's an awesome super fancy
10:39 place. You go there because of the
10:40 memories. At least that's why I go to
10:43 most of places. That's why I eat so much
10:45 cuz I'm always traveling. I'm like, man,
10:46 I remember that place. I need to have a
10:48 nine course meal shoved down my throat
10:52 just to stir up the memory. That's at
10:53 least the excuse I give my mom, which is
10:55 so they need to stop eating as much. All
10:57 right. Happy birthday to my dad. Did you
10:59 hear that birthday? Happy birthday.
11:01 Happy birthday to JWWW on the move. Jim,
11:04 my dad who was the minister right
11:07 here. All right, we're going to let you
11:09 guys go. Wave goodbye from Niceville,
11:12 Florida. I'm on my way. By the way, when
11:15 you see this, it will already be
11:16 uploaded and I will have left
11:18 Niceville. I'm continuing on trying to
11:21 be in California by New Year's Eve day.
11:24 So, I'm moving very quickly. I will try
11:26 to post tomorrow morning where I will be
11:29 tomorrow down Interstate 10 all the way.
11:32 Not sure how far I'm going to get
11:33 tonight, but I will keep you posted.
11:35 Definitely get a hold of me on social
11:36 networks, Twitter, Instagram, and
11:38 Facebook. And I'll see you guys later.
11:40 Large Marge sent me. The time machine
11:43 sent him and his beard is epic more than
11:47 mine has ever been. I used to have a
11:48 long beard, but it was never as I was
11:52 trying to think of a I was going to say
11:54 stagnant. It's not stagnant. It is kind
11:56 of stagnant, but it's awesomely
11:59 stagnant. All right, see you guys. Bye.
