1:00 for business. The tourists are in full

1:03 force. In early December 2016, fire

1:06 swept through these hills, but it's good

1:08 to see that the strip is

1:11 quite operational. The Skyift, however,

1:14 is currently closed. But fret not, they

1:17 are rebuilding

1:20 it. Looks like it's going to be opening

1:22 in the very relative near future.

1:25 There's some guys working on it as we

1:27 speak. In the very near future, we'll be

1:30 doing this for real. Oh, yeah. We're

1:32 just doing a video. Okay. I'm just going

1:40 further inspection, these are larger

1:42 seats. You can fit three people in

1:44 these. During and immediately after the

1:46 fires, the town was

1:48 closed. Oh my gosh.

1:55 for? Do you remember? Uh, 3 weeks, I

1:57 think. In order to get a slightly better

1:59 view, we go to the top of the Arcadia

2:03 Space Needle. Please stand clear of the

2:08 Montenia. Did I say that right? I don't

2:11 know. It sounded right to me. We're now

2:13 going up sky high. Slightly cooler and

2:16 windier up here. Look how high up I am.

2:18 I probably shouldn't be leaning over

2:20 this. The most visible damage was

2:21 sustained on what is referred to as

2:24 Crockett Mountain. You can see,

2:27 especially right over here, this resort

2:31 home no longer exists. It really puts it

2:34 into perspective. The discoloration of

2:36 the trees on where the fire crept down

2:40 the side of the hill. Look how close it

2:42 was to the actual strip itself. I set

2:45 the tripod up on top of this viewfinder.

3:14 and I'm a bear. I'm stirring a pot full

3:17 of chili. I cannot express how much I

3:19 love this town. It's kind of like a

3:21 southern version of Disney's Main Street

3:24 USA. I always get that vibe just because

3:28 it's so all-encompassing. Because the

3:30 general public was not allowed in town

3:32 during the fires and shortly after,

3:34 there were a lot of rumors on what still

3:36 existed and what was destroyed. As you

3:39 can see, most of the strip is made

3:41 completely of wood, including the

3:43 Mountain Mall. Thankfully, none of this

3:46 was harmed and it all still remains.

3:48 This place has been here since

3:50 1978. I wonder if the bear has a name.

3:53 Certainly not one of Disney's country

3:55 bears, that's for sure. Judging by his

3:57 eyes, it looks like he's been sipping a

3:59 little bit on that free moonshine they

4:01 have around these parts. I think he kind

5:46 ribs. Ah, some broccoli. A little bit of

5:48 broccoli. You got some sllo. And did you

5:50 know that there's actually more vitamin

5:51 C in broccoli than there is in an

5:53 orange? Oh, good to know. But you have

5:56 to have it uncooked, though. It has to

5:58 be raw. So, you're pretty much not

5:59 getting any nutrients there. At least

6:01 not as many nutrients as of Is this

6:02 cheese? That's honey mustard. Oh, that's

6:05 honey mustard. Oh, I know. Trust me. I

6:07 know. That's exactly how I feel right

6:09 now. So full. So so full. What about

7:07 town, crossing over the tree line up

7:10 through the mountains. And as I get

7:12 closer into proximity of the main mecca

7:14 of tourism, looking down, you can see it

7:16 is in full thriving condition and going

7:20 to the opposite spectrum, the other side

7:22 of town. Now crossing past the sky

7:24 tower, just heading downtown through all

7:27 these beautiful shops, restaurants, and

7:30 roadside attractions. I thoroughly love

7:33 this place. You can see the majestic

7:35 landing automatically. I have returned

7:37 to homes set. I was kind of worried

7:40 about all these vultures that are

7:42 circling in the near vicinity inside

7:45 this place called Chocolate Monkey now.

7:47 And they are known for their fudge. In

7:49 fact, a lot of places here in town have

7:51 fudge. Every turn down every alleyway

7:56 sells fudge. This is the most popular

7:58 item, monkey butter. Thanks to this guy

8:01 right here, I am now about to consume.

8:03 Not only lathered in a chocolate shell

8:05 around the cone, but this is mint

8:07 flavored. Not any particular mint, but

8:10 Girl Scout cookie

8:12 mint.

8:14 Yes, that's pretty good. And look at

8:17 this. Taffy is being pulled in every

8:20 possible known direction. Yet, it all

8:23 stays intact. This is rather

8:26 hypnotizing. If you stare at it long

8:28 enough, it could just be the mint

8:31 chocolate going into my brain. But if I

8:34 look at this taffy being careened around

8:38 that metal contraption, I start to get a

8:41 little delirious. It could be the sugar

8:42 high talking or it could be the waffle

8:45 cone that's wedged in the side of my

8:47 cheek now because I have not quite

8:49 chewed it up enough before I started

8:51 this rambling, incoherent talk. But
