0:03 All right, man. It's been fun. It has
0:03 been sight travels. Same to
0:17 you. Off we go. I like that old GMC van.
0:17 And I'm filling up the tank to continue
0:20 cruising down the road. Welcome
0:22 everyone. Adam the Woo here. It's my
0:24 second channel, daily vlog channel. It's
0:26 the daily.
0:29 Oh, that's good. It's been a while since
0:30 I had a Mountain Dew. It's a daily
0:44 woo. It's always incredible to me how
0:44 you can drive through two rock
0:46 structures like this. I guess they take
0:48 dynamite and just blow a hole through
0:51 and put the road down. Stopped off in
0:52 the town of Ingram. And there is
0:55 something that lies in this field that
0:58 you wouldn't expect to see in the great
1:00 state of Texas. Talking about
1:04 Stonehenge, two about 3/4 the size of
1:07 its England counterpart. It used to
1:09 reside in the next town over, but they
1:11 moved it here in the year 2010. Over the
1:14 course of my travels, I have visited now
1:17 three of these Stonehenge locations. One
1:21 in Alabama called Bama Hinge, one in
1:24 Virginia called Foam Hinge, and now this
1:28 one, the handiwork of two gentlemen,
1:30 Doug Hill and Al Shepard. The other two
1:33 spots created by the one and only Mark
1:35 Klene, who I am a big fan of his work,
1:37 but it's good to see other people have
1:39 gotten in on Stonehenge Fever. One day I
1:42 will visit the real thing, but for now,
1:45 paying a visit to all the replicas. How
1:47 many of these things are there? Texture
1:49 seems to be a little bit different on
1:51 this one as well. It's not foam. It's
1:53 not completely plastic. It's covered in
1:56 some sort of material over the plastic.
2:01 In 1989, Doug Hill tipped on in a
2:04 massive limestone rock onto Al Shepard's
2:06 field. After looking at the rock and
2:08 joking about it for months, Al and Doug
2:11 decided to build an arch behind the rock
2:13 to make it more visible to passers by.
2:16 When the arch was built, Al was reminded
2:18 of the original Stonehenge in England.
2:22 He commissioned Doug to design and build
2:24 Stonehenge 2. It is not a replica. It is
2:28 about 23 the size of the original and is
2:32 not oriented to the sun as is the
2:35 original. It is, however, Doug Hill's
2:37 impression in steel and concrete of the
2:40 nearly 5,000year-old circle of stones on
2:43 the Salsbury plane. And there's also
2:45 this recreation of one of the Easter
2:47 Island statues. That right there though,
2:50 that's the majestic. That's the real
2:52 deal. That's not a recreation. This
2:54 thing definitely comes in handy. And
2:56 here's another one right as you're
2:58 exiting the property. I'd like to get
3:00 down there. I think the only way though
3:03 is to just walk down this embankment
3:05 under this bridge.
3:30 serene. Water rippling
3:30 by. Very relaxing.
3:37 Sometimes it's good to just take a deep
3:37 breath, sit on the edge of an abandoned
3:41 bridge with your feet dangling over the
3:46 water. Just enjoy the
3:53 view. It's the little things in life
3:53 that
3:55 matter. The cliche phrase is the best
3:59 things in life are free.
4:02 And a good portion of the
4:04 time that is true. A very good portion
4:09 of the time that is true.
4:35 I will occasionally see these signs with
4:35 the cows on them signifying cow
4:39 crossing, but I've really yet to see a
4:41 cow crossing the road. I want to see a
4:44 cow crossing the road. It's not too much
4:46 to ask, right? I think those three nails
4:50 there
4:51 symbolize the nails that were put in the
4:53 hands of Jesus at the top of the
4:56 hill. There's a huge cross. I'm guessing
5:00 I can drive up there and check it out.
5:02 It's pretty steep, but I think she can
5:04 make it. Don't let me
5:09 down. You can do
5:11 this. I'm giving it all I got, Captain.
5:14 I'm giving it all I got. This was not
5:16 made for an RV going up this incline,
5:20 but we're almost there. I made it to the
5:22 top up high. And that down there is down
5:26 low. That's why there's a Lowe's cuz
5:29 it's because it's down low. When you get
5:31 to the top, you see Jesus standing at
5:33 the base of the cross and some sort of
5:36 construction
5:38 vehicle hauling dirt. It's very
5:41 beautiful up here and they're doing a
5:43 lot of construction to continue how
5:45 beautiful this place is. Pretty nice up
5:48 here. No matter what your belief system
5:49 is, there's still some pretty good
5:51 stories in the Bible like this one where
5:53 the son of God is washing the feet of
5:55 Simon Peter, which teaches us we're
5:58 never too good to do something that some
6:00 people would assume we would never do. I
6:02 think the word I'm looking for is
6:04 humility. It says here that the cross is
6:07 77t 7 in. So 37s, which is kind of the
6:11 counter number to 666, the mark of the
6:15 beast with Satan. 777 would be the
6:18 evangelical number. Very interesting
6:20 they chose that height. And I also
6:22 noticed that from an aerial view, not
6:25 only do you see the tall cross, but also
6:27 the landscape is also a cross. And this
6:31 is something you don't see too often.
6:33 prayers that are left on the side of
6:36 rocks and placed all along this
6:45 pathway. People have written out in
6:45 Sharpie what their prayer is and left it
6:50 along this entire
6:53 stretch on both sides. Hundreds and
6:57 hundreds of prayers. There's even a few
7:03 markings of those who have passed
7:07 on leaving a little piece of them here
7:10 as
7:11 well. Look at this request. Please let
7:15 me stay single forever. I didn't write
7:17 that, but kind of wish I would have. Off
7:19 to the side of the road here looks to be
7:21 like miniature golf course material
7:25 grass. It's not what it's for. In fact,
7:28 I'm not really sure what it's for, but
7:29 it makes me want to grab a golf club and
7:34 play a little mini golf, doesn't it?
7:36 Okay, now it's getting even more
7:38 strange. They're watering
7:40 it. Why are they watering the fake
7:43 grass? I'm getting a little hungry. They
7:46 don't have barbecue in here, and for
7:48 that, I am grateful. Tuna sub with lots
7:51 of veggies. BBQ detox begins. Side note,
7:56 this reminds me more of a coffee shop
7:59 than a sandwich place. This is
8:02 Frederick'sburg. Pretty cool looking
8:04 place. I'm going to wander around the
8:06 historic downtown for a bit. Some pretty
8:09 cool t-shirts. This one promoting Willie
8:12 Nelson for president and Whan Jennings
8:15 for vice president. It's an old neon
8:17 Buick
8:19 sign. Looks like there used to be a
8:21 Buick dealership at one time. And the
8:24 sign still here might be a
8:27 reproduction, but it also might be the
8:30 original one. It's no longer a hospital,
8:32 but the Kaidell Memorial Building is
8:34 still here. Late
8:37 1800s that was built. There just seems
8:39 to be something a little extra special
8:41 about a town that is way older than a
8:43 100red years old. Once it crosses that
8:46 century mark, it kind of has a little a
8:49 little something extra special. Look at
8:51 the palace theater there. It's an
8:53 antique clothing store now. But man,
8:55 that place, that place has had some
8:58 memories. The Bank of
9:00 Fredericksburg. Just imagine all the
9:02 dreams that became a reality or were
9:05 crushed inside those walls. It's been
9:07 some very majestic sunsets lately here
9:10 in
9:15 Texas. This brings me back to my earlier
9:15 point.
9:17 Sometimes it's good to just sit back for
9:20 a second
9:21 and take a look
9:25 around. It's a
9:27 beauty that the world has to offer. As
9:29 the night comes to an
9:31 end, I'm gonna have some frozen yogurt.
