0:12 Welcome everyone. Adam the Woo here.
0:12 It's my second channel, daily vlog
0:14 channel. Pay no attention to Adam's arm.
0:19 It's a daily woo.
0:26 Did I just bark like a dog? If you keep
0:26 your eyes peeled off in the distance,
0:27 look closely. You can see Space Mountain
0:30 and the Matterhorn from the freeway.
0:33 You don't see that view in Florida,
0:35 that's for sure. Man, look at this cool
0:37 car right here. That's pretty rad. Did I
0:40 just say rad? I'm showing my age, by the
0:42 way. I shaved. That's my shadow and
0:44 that's a store. I'm going inside. I need
0:47 my gum. The Montreal at Disneyland is
0:49 currently not operating. Check it out.
0:52 Starbucks is coming to Downtown Disney.
0:54 prepare thyelves. Actually, let me
0:56 rephrase that. There already is a
0:58 Starbucks a hundred yards, less than a
1:01 football field length away from the new
1:03 Starbucks that's being built. They're
1:05 taking over. I made it in just in time
1:08 for a rope drop. A friend of mine from
1:09 Florida's here. I'm stopping off for a
1:12 quick hello.
1:14 Good morning.
1:17 It's coffee time. Going full iced coffee
1:21 today. It's a little warm, so why not
1:24 chill down with some ice? Good morning.
1:26 It's one of the infamous Disneyland
1:28 cats. They exist. Looks like they have a
1:31 new security guard guarding the entrance
1:33 to Star Wars Land. They don't want
1:35 anybody peeking through that wall. I got
1:38 you. I'll keep my distance. Whoa, he's
1:41 coming this way.
1:47 I got that uh
1:47 What's he doing? here.
1:51 What's he doing?
2:15 Push them in. Push them in.
2:25 Get ready.
2:25 Get ready to make the plunge.
2:33 Your lower is higher. Trying to get up
2:33 there.
2:36 We all like to help you, but you know
2:39 mama
2:45 so close.
3:04 The tunnel
3:04 that doesn't exist. Well, it exists.
3:07 There's just no train tracks once you
3:09 get into the darkness. Time to cash in
3:12 this fastass. All right, Micah. All the
3:14 way from Florida. All the way from
3:15 Florida. You're in California. You've
3:16 never ridden this the Space Mountain
3:18 Star Wars overlay. Are you stoked? I'm
3:21 stoked. I'm going to get your review
3:23 after the ride. Sounds good. Oh, here
3:25 goes nothing. Here we go.
3:35 Let's check out the photo. Oh, you're
3:35 giving a thumbs up there. I did. That
3:37 must have mean you liked it. I loved it.
3:39 That was incredible. Compared to regular
3:41 Space Mountain, I This is better. I love
3:44 it, man. Look how stoked you look. I was
3:46 so stoked. I was trying to find the
3:47 camera, but look at you. I know. So, I
3:50 just learned a little fact from Micah.
3:54 He has never been on Indiana Jones at
3:57 Disneyland. The only Indiana Jones
3:59 theming ride or slatt attraction, you
4:02 know, as at Hollywood Studios that is
4:05 nothing like what here on the West Coast
4:08 presents to you. It's epic. So, I get to
4:10 go not only Space Mountain, but I get to
4:13 get your reaction from Indiana Jones.
4:15 Yep. You're going to love this. You know
4:17 where you are. I have no idea. You in
4:19 the jungle, baby. Pull on that pole.
4:23 Just tug on it hard. Hard.
4:27 Pull it towards you hard.
4:29 Oh, there it goes. The roof is caving
4:31 in. Oh, wow. Caving the roof in. Are you
4:35 ready for this? I'm ready. You don't
4:36 even know what to expect right now. I
4:38 have no idea. I'm not going to give any
4:40 spoilers. All right. His eyes.
4:49 All right. What's the consensus? Oh my
4:49 gosh. You like it? That was too cool. I
4:51 I'm really like upset that it's taken me
4:54 this long to finally ride that ride.
4:56 That's what I said the first time I did
4:57 it. Time for some lunch at the Hungry
4:59 Bear. Hungry. You can see how there's no
5:01 train tracks. The train tracks have been
5:03 pulled up and instead of the train going
5:05 directly through there, those doors are
5:06 closed. They have the Country Bears mugs
5:08 here. They don't have the attraction at
5:10 Disneyland, but they sell the mug. Look
5:12 at these crazy guys right there. They
5:15 got the crispy chicken sandwich here.
5:18 This looks pretty good. Coke, what'd you
5:20 get? Same thing. Rings. Yep. They got
5:23 these little curtain disguises up and
5:25 this fence up. That way you can't peek
5:28 into Rivers of America or from up there
5:31 on the top balcony of Hungry Bear
5:33 restaurant. So you can't see down into
5:35 the Star Wars construction.
5:44 Oh man, just in time. Look what's
5:44 heading this way.
6:06 heading out. Please place young children
6:06 toward the inside of the tram away from
6:09 the side. There's no one on here but me.
6:11 We will begin our trip shortly. Cut the
6:14 whole tram to myself.
6:27 Look at that sunset.
6:27 That's amazing right there.
6:37 It feels amazing outside right now. Got
6:37 to love Southern California evenings.
6:39 I've never seen a street sign in a
6:42 public park before. This isn't a road.
6:44 This is just a sidewalk. But there's a
6:47 street sign. I want to talk to you a
6:48 little bit about YouTube. Not just
6:50 watching YouTube videos, but creating
6:53 YouTube content. Let's say you have a
6:56 YouTube channel. You're thinking about
6:58 starting a YouTube channel, and you
7:00 would like a little bit of advice from
7:02 me. This is what this segment of the
7:05 vlog will be dedicated to. Every single
7:08 day I either get a comment either on the
7:10 YouTube videos, either a tweet, a reply
7:14 on social media, Facebook, Instagram, or
7:18 I will meet someone out in public and
7:20 they will say, "Adam, you have inspired
7:22 me to do YouTube videos." And I feel
7:27 like at this point after having people
7:30 come up to me and say that I should give
7:34 you a little bit of my advice, my
7:36 personal experience and my personal
7:40 thoughts on the subject. The first thing
7:42 you need to do is decide on why you want
7:45 to make YouTube videos. I think in my
7:48 opinion there are two different types of
7:51 YouTube content creators. There are
7:53 those who just do it as a hobby. They do
7:56 a video occasionally
7:58 simply to put something as a hosting
8:00 arena to post a home video or a funny
8:03 little skit that they're doing. That way
8:05 they can email it to their family, email
8:07 it to their friends. And the reason I
8:09 say this type of YouTube person exists
8:13 cuz that's what I used to be until I
8:16 realized what YouTube could be used for.
8:19 Which brings me to the second type of
8:21 YouTube persona. those who are doing it
8:24 not only to be creative but also to
8:28 progress and hopefully be successful
8:32 either when it comes to subscribers,
8:34 when it comes to monetization, when it
8:37 comes to popularity, whatever your
8:39 reason is. If you are monetizing a
8:42 video, if you are selling t-shirts, if
8:43 you are doing any of that, the whole
8:46 point of that and the reason you are
8:48 doing that is because you want to
8:50 succeed. you want to create something.
8:52 So, those are the two different types of
8:56 YouTube personalities that are putting
8:59 content onto YouTube. Now, if you have
9:02 figured out which one of those two
9:04 categories you fall into, we can
9:08 continue on with my advice. If you do or
9:11 are deciding to do daily vlogs, going
9:14 out and doing fun things, or at least
9:15 uploading every single day without
9:18 missing a day, and you're putting the
9:20 stress of editing into your life, there
9:24 is a good percentage of a chance that
9:27 you are doing this because you want to
9:29 progress and move forward. I have this
9:32 philosophy about YouTube and the
9:35 different waves of YouTube just like
9:37 music has different waves like SCA
9:40 there's the first wave of SCA the second
9:42 wave wave of SCA that can also be
9:44 applied to YouTube I think there are
9:46 different waves of YouTube and the
9:49 growth of YouTube for example if you are
9:52 starting or if you do a daily vlog you
9:55 know of other popular daily vloggers
9:58 that are way up there on the tier of
10:01 popularity on YouTube. I'm referring to
10:04 like the Shay Carl, the Charles
10:06 Trippies, those type of people. They
10:10 started on the first wave of YouTube
10:14 2006, 2007, 2008. I'm using those only
10:18 as example. There are a plethora of
10:21 others. I consider myself to be the
10:24 second wave of YouTube. I did not start
10:26 doing YouTube quote unquote full-time
10:28 until the end of 2011.
10:31 This is 2016.
10:34 I like to refer to this as the third
10:37 wave of YouTube, but in reality, it
10:39 could be approaching the fourth wave of
10:42 YouTube. If you look at a lot of those
10:44 first wave vloggers and YouTubers who
10:47 were uploading content at least every
10:48 day or at least once a week,
10:50 relentlessly filming and relentlessly
10:52 coming up with ideas, you'll notice that
10:54 their subscribers grew dramatically
10:57 because remember what I was saying the
10:59 other day about building a wall like
11:00 this. You don't build a wall in a day.
11:02 You build it over time. Since they've
11:05 been doing it for so long, they have
11:07 developed and built a YouTube wall. And
11:10 back in those days, there weren't really
11:11 a whole heck of a lot of people doing
11:13 YouTube videos. So, they kind of had a
11:15 jump start. This quote unquote first
11:17 wave. This is a terminology that I am
11:19 just now making up. And because of that,
11:22 more people were not content creators.
11:24 They were just viewers and they would
11:26 subscribe. So, they got a little bit of
11:28 a jump start on the second waivers, the
11:30 third waivers, and now in 2016, whatever
11:33 you want to refer to it as. When I
11:34 started doing videos full-time at the
11:36 end of 2011, it has taken me all that
11:39 time to get to the point at the level
11:42 that I am at at just putting content
11:44 out, constantly coming up with ideas,
11:47 constantly waking up every day, getting
11:49 motivated to go out, film stuff, do
11:51 things, and I am only at this certain
11:54 level where I am, which brings me to my
11:57 main point about anyone that's starting
12:00 a YouTube channel today. You have an
12:03 incredible task ahead of you with making
12:06 a name for yourself and putting yourself
12:09 ahead of everyone else that came before
12:13 you. Think about that. There are so many
12:17 people doing YouTube. There are so many
12:19 vloggers, daily vloggers, people
12:22 vlogging in their house. Every subject
12:24 has been covered, documented, put out
12:28 there. if you are going to succeed at
12:31 all, even if you're going to get a
12:33 moderate amount of followers and try to
12:36 go to the next level of where you want
12:38 to go, which is why you're doing it
12:40 doing this whole YouTube thing anyway.
12:42 If you're trying to do it to make it a
12:44 career, let's say you eventually want to
12:46 quit your job, let's say you eventually
12:48 want to do YouTube full-time. The whole
12:50 goal is to get more subscribers, more
12:53 views. It takes a lot of work. It took a
12:56 lot of work for me to get where I am.
12:58 and I had a fiveyear head start on what
13:02 you're going to do. My major
13:06 piece of advice is to do something
13:09 original, be very creative, be more
13:13 creative than those in the past and
13:16 those who are doing it along with you.
13:19 Now, if you're just doing it just to,
13:21 you know, to put videos out there and to
13:23 have a good time, you have nothing to
13:25 worry about because you will not have
13:27 that stress of being bummed out about
13:29 losing subscribers, about not getting
13:32 that many views on your videos. But if
13:34 you're doing it for that second reason,
13:36 which is trying to make this your
13:38 livelihood and make this your passion
13:40 and your desire and you want everybody
13:43 wants their content seen by everyone
13:46 else. No one is creative just for
13:48 themselves. If you were creative just
13:50 for yourself, you would not be putting
13:52 this on the internet. The whole point of
13:54 it, you would not have Twitter and
13:56 Instagram and Facebook. You want to be
13:58 seen. You want your creation,
14:01 your desire, your passions to be seen by
14:04 the world. And if you're going to do
14:07 this, if you're going to succeed, what
14:09 success is in your mind, you're really
14:12 going to have to step up the game big
14:14 time. And I'm speaking from experience
14:16 because I always feel there is a part of
14:20 what I have done on YouTube which man I
14:22 have been overly more successful than I
14:25 thought I would ever be. In the grand
14:27 scheme of things, I am not a huge
14:28 YouTuber. Compared to what I thought I
14:30 would do, I am way past that. But I
14:34 always feel that if I would have started
14:36 YouTube earlier, a few years earlier, I
14:39 would be way farther ahead. back to that
14:41 whole building a wall brick by brick by
14:45 brick and now it's your turn. If you are
14:48 deciding on doing a YouTube channel,
14:51 doing vlogging, documenting things, you
14:54 have to step your game up. You have to
14:57 be able to work at it. You have to be
14:59 dedicated to work at it constantly every
15:02 spare second thinking of ideas, filming,
15:05 editing, going out, doing things, doing
15:07 something original. The key is
15:09 originality. I could write a huge list
15:12 of friends, acquaintances, people that I
15:14 met, friends of friends who have started
15:16 YouTube channels and gave up because
15:18 they thought it was going to be much
15:20 easier than it really is. And that was a
15:22 while back. As time goes on, like I said
15:25 a minute ago, so many people are now
15:28 doing YouTube.
15:30 If you are going to progress, if you are
15:33 going to attempt to make it in this
15:36 crazy YouTube world, you have to at
15:39 least heed my advice. Not follow it, but
15:42 take what I said to heart. I am not an
15:45 expert. I am not a YouTube mogul in any
15:48 way, shape, or form. I'm just speaking
15:49 from experience. And so many people, so
15:53 so many people are coming up to me all
15:55 the time and saying, "I'm going to start
15:56 doing YouTube videos." which I think is
15:58 completely amazing because it is good to
16:01 go out and do things, document things,
16:03 but you have to decide, are you the
16:05 person number one or are you the person
16:07 number two? Are you doing it as a hobby?
16:08 Are you trying to make YouTube your
16:10 livelihood and your career? If number
16:13 two is your option, just remember,
16:16 you got to put your all into it. There
16:18 is no half, you know what, you have to
16:21 go full force. I heard a saying one time
16:25 that 100%
16:27 dedication
16:29 receives 100% reward. If you only put
16:32 half of the dedication in, you're only
16:34 going to get half the reward. All right,
16:36 that's enough for now. I'll see you guys
16:38 later. Bye.
