0:02 Today's adventure begins as a recording
0:02 of a Saturday, May the 10th, 2025. Today
0:07 in Mexico, it's Mother's Day. Now,
0:09 tomorrow, as I'm filming this, it'll be
0:11 Mother's Day in the US, but here in
0:18 Mexico, it's today. That's why all the
0:18 stuff set up in front of the cathedral
0:21 here. Welcome everyone. Adam the Woo
0:23 here. Say hello to
0:25 Louise. Hi. local resident for 37 years,
0:29 you said. Yes. Yes. And I I was going to
0:32 get Starbucks and you said, "Let me take
0:34 you to a place that has proper like a
0:37 Mexican Starbucks." Proper Mexican
0:38 coffee. What's the name of the place we
0:39 went to? Celito Cafe. Okay. So, we're
0:43 going to go to a huge park, a castle,
0:48 and the church from Romeo and Juliet by
0:50 subway. By the subway. See, I didn't
0:53 really I didn't really go into the
0:54 subway the last couple days, but then
0:56 you said, "Let's try the subway." So,
0:58 you know, a little bit more about the
0:59 general layout of the land, so I'll feel
1:01 more comfortable on the subway with you.
1:02 Yes, for sure. We'll we'll check out
1:04 some other stuff. Watch, Adam. Well,
1:07 you're in Mexico City. You're going to
1:08 You're going to have my back? Yes. All
1:09 right. All right. I'm inviting you to
1:11 join me and Luis here in Mexico City.
1:15 Shall we? You nailed it. All right.
1:19 Going into the depths of the subway.
1:22 So, there's another subway platform over
1:24 by where they have the stage set up for
1:26 the concert later. That one's closed
1:29 because of the event. So, we had to walk
1:30 over here to this
1:39 one. Change of line. And Selena's exit.
1:39 Yes. Did I pronounce that right? Selena.
1:42 Selena. Selena.
1:44 So, we got to do another connection.
1:46 Yes.
1:51 Yeah, you can
1:51 see. So we were we were right here. So
1:56 then we we get there. Now
1:58 we So we can
2:00 go and this is where the church place.
2:04 Exactly. And maybe then we can take down
2:07 here and go back here and then we go
2:10 to Excellent.
2:23 That's different. There are tires. It's
2:24 not on the rails. It's like between the
2:25 rails.
2:31 I think there are It's electric. So, but
2:31 they have those to just to make the the
2:34 train. Yeah.
2:47 Door closed on me.
2:47 They're
2:48 handcrafted.
3:02 handmade. Louise gave me this magnet.
3:02 He wanted to show me that doll. That way
3:03 I know what it is. So, this is something
3:06 that's specifically Mexico,
3:09 like handcrafted in Mexico from the from
3:11 the street vendors.
3:14 I got a little magnet version that's on
3:16 my little cabinets there. Nice. Very
3:17 typical indigenous tradition. Okay.
3:25 Are they still in use? Yes. So, a little
3:25 police
3:27 substation. Very retro looking. So,
3:29 there's little alarms up there. They're
3:31 are panic alarms. You can press on the
3:33 any of these power poles, but these are
3:35 also multi-use. They're used for the
3:37 earthquakes they have. There'll be a
3:40 minute. You said a minute warning. Yeah.
3:42 Approximately 40 seconds or minute and a
3:44 half. It depends. Yeah. Because the the
3:46 earthquakes start in the Pacific coast.
3:49 So, it takes about a minute for the
3:52 earthquake to come to Mexico City. So,
3:54 they could they could give you a warning
3:55 that that could save your life. A minute
3:57 could save your life.
3:58 So you just got to get down off lower
4:00 levels or get out from under down out
4:02 down out from underneath anything that
4:04 might fall in your head and stuff,
4:06 right? That would be scary when it must
4:08 be pretty startling. It would be for me
4:11 anyway. It is. All trees around here are
4:13 not doing very well cuz these are not
4:15 native to Mexico.
4:18 Mexico City are not native to Mexico
4:20 City. Okay.
4:30 Yeah. It's funny because a lot of people
4:30 say, "Oh, I love pantries in Mexico
4:32 City." Yeah. But they're not from here.
4:35 They're from other parts of the country.
4:37 Mexico City essential. So, it's a truck.
4:39 They're buying
4:41 Are They're just buying people stuff.
4:43 Yeah. They're saying mattresses,
4:45 refrigerators,
4:48 ovens. So, if I had an oven, they would
4:50 buy it from me.
4:58 Shakaronda
4:58 trees just missed the blooms there with
5:01 all the
5:03 purple just out of
5:07 season. So about what a month ago these
5:09 would have been fully fully purple. Yes.
5:11 And they just last for like a couple of
5:13 months from February to April or March
5:15 or April. It's like the cherry blossoms
5:18 in South Korea. Exactly. And those are
5:20 also introduced. They are not native
5:21 from Mexico. They are Brazilian I think.
5:24 Oh. So a Mexican president wanted
5:26 something like the cherry blossoms. But
5:29 a botanist told him no we cannot do
5:31 those but we can do hakarandas from
5:32 Brazil. Back in 1996 a movie came out.
5:35 Sorry. Claire Danes and Leonardo
5:37 DiCaprio. Romeo and Juliet. The same
5:40 director that directed the movie that
5:42 came out a couple years ago about Elvis
5:44 directed it. It was not filmed in Verona
5:46 which is my fair Verona. parts of it or
5:49 majority of it was filmed in Mexico City
5:52 and the rest of the country as well. But
5:54 this church right here is the church
5:58 from that movie
6:00 1996. Really enjoyed that film. This is
6:03 where Romeo and Juliet had their secret
6:06 wedding. It's also where later on Leo
6:10 playing Romeo ran up those stairs,
6:13 grabbed the one
6:14 priest. The officers were charging up
6:16 there. a very famous photo of him
6:18 grabbing the guy with the weapon. And
6:21 this is really the top sculpture
6:24 there. I'm guessing that's the Virgin
6:27 Mary up on top of the church. You can
6:28 see that multiple times in the film, the
6:30 helicopter zooming around the top of the
6:32 church itself. That is incredible. I
6:35 didn't even realize this was filmed here
6:36 until a few days ago. I was like, I have
6:38 to go check that out. So, we're going to
6:40 You think the church might be open? Yes,
6:42 I think so. Yeah, I saw someone came
6:44 that came out. So that's that's where
6:45 the end of the end of the film, the the
6:47 the dramatic ending. I don't want to
6:48 give too many spoilers, but if you don't
6:50 know about the story of Romeo and
6:51 Juliet, then you should probably know by
6:53 now, but that's where so that's where
6:55 the wedding was. And it's also where
6:56 both of them ended their life inside
6:58 this very church building film. Romeo,
7:01 played by Leo, runs right past this
7:03 trash pile right here. Like he literally
7:06 runs right past this around this way
7:10 that past that store. Also earlier in
7:12 the movie, he drives up his car right
7:15 here. There's a helicopter view looking
7:17 down as he goes up the top of this and
7:19 goes in. And the church is open. We're
7:22 going to be able to go
7:23 inside. Yeah. The iconic photo or the
7:26 iconic scene where he's got the guy kind
7:28 of grabbing by the by the by the
7:30 shoulder and he's pulling him up is
7:32 right here. And then when he goes in to
7:34 discover Juliet, which he thinks has
7:36 passed away, but really she's like
7:37 slumbering and she's going to wake up.
7:39 And then he takes the poison, all that.
7:41 You can see these sacred hearts right
7:42 here behind DiCaprio when he walks in
7:45 this very door and shuts the door behind
7:47 him, sticks the gun out and is firing up
7:50 firing up the helicopters that are
7:52 circling around right here. These are
7:53 the actual stairs
7:55 from from Romeo and Juliet 1996. Here
7:58 you go. There he is running right past
7:59 the pole and that tree right
8:03 there. That is so neat. And then the
8:06 stairs which are right here when they're
8:08 kind of like zooming in. He's right
8:09 there in the middle of the stairs. I'm
8:12 kind of losing it right now. This is
8:13 awesome. So, not going to go in the same
8:15 door he walked in, but the one side door
8:17 here. So, right here is that moment
8:19 where he's got the guy up against this.
8:21 This door is
8:22 closed. That photo right
8:30 there.
8:30 Wow. Let's go
8:38 in. Oh my gosh. This is it. It's the
8:38 Romeo and Juliet church. This is where
8:40 they got married. This is where she
8:42 walks down, sees Leo at the
8:45 end. The murals all still look the same
8:47 in here, too. And up at the very, very
8:50 end is where they where they passed
8:54 away.
8:56 Unbelievable. What the heck? Right
8:59 there. Right
9:01 there. Right there where those stairs
9:03 are.
9:11 still looks exactly the same. Exactly
9:11 the same.
9:13 It was used three, I think, three times
9:15 in the
9:17 film. You really see this one during the
9:20 wedding when they're choir boys are
9:21 singing the song as they're walking in.
9:23 But take a look here. This is also on
9:24 the staircase. Right there in the middle
9:26 is where Juliet was laid in the bed and
9:28 then she awakes and she realized that
9:30 Romeo took the poison. It was right
9:32 there where that where that little
9:35 stairs is right there in that same spot.
9:37 Yeah. When they got married. So Juliet's
9:40 walking down this aisle. Claire
9:44 Danes sees Leo standing right up
9:48 here. This is insane to me that this is
9:52 the spot from 96 Romeo and Juliet where
9:55 they where they were right here in this
9:58 very very
10:00 spot. Oh my gosh. Right here.
10:04 Look at
10:06 this.
10:08 So Claire Daines was there. Leo was just
10:12 below her. Leo's foot was right here.
10:15 And there was an
10:17 aerial crane shot going
10:25 up.
10:25 Wow. Wow. Here's Fair Juliet right
10:31 What a great modernday rendition of that
10:34 classic. Unbelievable. So, yeah, look at
10:37 this. So, they had a crane up, but look
10:40 over here. There's that pillar. Not the
10:42 pillar, but the marble siding to the
10:45 stairs. There's the other siding to the
10:48 stairs. And there they lay right there.
10:51 Tragic love.
11:06 Unbelievable. I mean, I'm a movie nerd,
11:06 so come on. And during that wedding
11:08 scene, this is the where she walked down
11:10 the aisle. That's where the alter boys
11:12 are singing the song, right up there.
11:23 So for those who have not seen the
11:23 film, I I would say I would recommend
11:26 it. I mean it is a modernday
11:34 take on it, but modern day. It came out
11:34 in 96. So that's been what 28 years ago.
11:37 20 My gosh. 29 years
11:40 ago. But right in here. So Leo walks up
11:44 after all the altercation out front,
11:46 barricades himself inside the chapel,
11:49 comes up here where they got married. So
11:51 in the same spot they got married. Well,
11:53 a few feet away they got married. Right
11:54 here is where he sees Juliet. Assumed
11:57 she had passed away, but in reality she
12:00 had taken like a sleeping type of
12:03 potion, not potion, but a sleeping
12:04 medicine that made her family and others
12:07 assumed she was gone. Leo did not know
12:09 that. So he shows up. He is mourning and
12:12 weeping his new
12:14 bride and decides he does not want he's
12:17 going to take some poison and join her.
12:19 And then she awakes as he takes takes it
12:22 and then it all ensues right
12:26 here. Spoiler
12:29 alert. You could watch the clip online.
12:31 There's plenty of clips online. I'm
12:32 always enamored by these beautiful
12:34 Catholic cathedrals.
12:36 But when it's like one of the movies
12:38 that you really enjoy and kind of grew
12:39 up with and you're in the spot, just
12:42 seeing how dramatic that was, it really
12:44 kind of just is an extra added thing.
12:48 Look at the
13:21 This is definitely a spot I never
13:21 thought I would see with my own
13:37 Amazing. Remember when that movie came
13:39 out? I had it on VHS. Watch it all the
13:47 time. Pre-DVDs. I think it might have
13:47 been on DVD, but I still had
13:49 a the VCR at those times that came out.
13:53 So, I had it on
13:55 VHS. All
14:13 right. Grabbed an Uber. Just got dropped
14:13 off
14:15 here. Was quicker to do that or easier
14:18 to do that than take the subway.
14:21 Now we're going to check
14:23 out the castle which is over here in
14:26 this
14:27 area. The fungus festival.
14:31 There's a fungus festival happening
14:32 right now.
14:47 So you're not allowed to smoke weed
14:47 except in these like exclusive spots?
14:50 Yes. spots over tolerance. Occupied
14:53 occupied spots. Occupied spots. That's
14:55 what everyone under the tree is doing
14:56 over
14:58 there. Interested over in the
15:04 shade. All right. End up getting a w
15:04 couple waters. So you said this bill is
15:07 kind of a rare bill. Yeah, it's because
15:09 it's it's beautiful. You see? So it has
15:11 the aalote in it. It's a native species
15:15 of Soimo canals. Yeah. And this bill won
15:19 the award for the most beautiful bill in
15:21 the past years. So it's sometimes it's
15:23 difficult to come across them because
15:25 people tend to keep them. So maybe you
15:27 can. So she gave me back that as change.
15:29 So I should hang on to that one for
15:30 sure.
15:32 And I also got this 100. This would not
15:35 This one's probably not as rare. Yeah,
15:36 it isn't. But that is the Monara
15:38 butterfly. I'm trying not to get my
15:40 lollipop in my in the shot. But yeah.
15:44 All right, let's go see some fungus.
15:45 Yeah, for sure.
15:52 the in the way they they die. So they
15:52 migrate all the way from Canada. All the
15:54 way from Canada. So you can find them in
15:55 Canada and in Mexico in in the colder
15:57 season. So like birds, they fly the
15:59 whole way from Canada to here. Yes. Wow.
16:03 Monarch. The monarch. Monarch
16:05 butterflies. It's hard to talk with this
16:07 sucker in my mouth.
16:15 We're going to go up the side of the
16:15 hill, but there's a sculpture here. The
16:16 defenders of the nation, 1846 to
16:21 1847. A stage here with the sculpture
16:25 there in the middle. Got the side of
16:26 this little hill to the chapel. The park
16:29 is called Chapel Topek. Yes, the park is
16:33 and the castle. It means hill of the
16:36 grasshopper. That's right. Hill of the
16:38 grasshopper. in now the language of the
16:41 mishikas or the astics.
16:43 Are there are there a lot of
16:44 grasshoppers here? Maybe more squirrels.
16:47 I think more squirrels.
16:56 Nice little gazebo here.
16:56 The monkeys. Yeah. And the people buy
16:58 them and they put them in their heads.
16:59 You'll see some around and then they
17:02 squeeze water and those are typical.
17:04 They squeeze water on Oh, look. There's
17:06 little straws coming out of them. Yeah.
17:07 And then so they squeeze water to drink.
17:09 No, no, just to like to hydrate to get
17:12 hydrated. No, no, no. Like to like a
17:14 joke to people? Oh, so they're these
17:16 monkeys are going to squirt me. Exactly.
17:19 Okay. All of these are also like jokes.
17:21 Oh, yeah. Look at this. And you can see
17:24 the aote there. The one in the 50 peso
17:26 bill.
17:28 Where am I looking? A right here. Yeah,
17:32 that's the the Look at that monkey with
17:34 a luchador mask on. That's cute. It's
17:37 very typical. So, someone's going to
17:38 squirt me with these, probably. Or you
17:40 could squirt someone as well, but I'd
17:42 have to buy one of those to squirt
17:43 someone. And then once you go to the
17:45 castle, they won't let you in with them.
17:48 But, but listen to this. They have like
17:50 a nursery for the little monkeys. You'll
17:52 see. A nursery for the monkeys. So, they
17:54 keep them while How do you know which
17:56 monkey is yours? Oh, because they give
17:58 you like a ticket, a little tag. The
17:59 monkey gets a little tag in the tickets
18:01 here. This is kind of interesting. I've
18:02 never seen anything like this. But you
18:04 pay the general admission, which is 100
18:06 pesos, but in order for me to film where
18:08 I'm going, it's another 60 pesos to
18:11 film. I kind of like that. Just let me
18:14 pay a little bit extra. And that gives
18:17 me permission to film instead of going
18:19 to a place and having them yell at you
18:20 for filming. Right. That's how it should
18:22 be done. Everywhere. Right there. Done.
18:25 Then you know you got the You have to
18:26 have like a little receipt. This is your
18:28 ticket. actually your ticket and your
18:30 filming permission. About halfway up the
18:31 mountain now. Stopping to get look at a
18:33 little
18:34 cityscape. I'm still kind of confused on
18:36 the ratio price-wise. So, it was $100
18:38 each to get it and then 50 or 100 100
18:41 pesos each. And I I think I just asked
18:43 you what was that $50 a person? I just
18:44 paid like 150 bucks to get both of us
18:47 plus the filming and you're like no it
18:49 was five bucks each. So, it wasn't that
18:52 much. It was like for both of us and the
18:54 filming permit 13 bucks. It's okay.
18:58 That's That's good. That's a good price.
19:00 I was think it was like 130.
19:07 I was way off. If you buy one of those
19:07 monkeys, you got to put it over here in
19:09 the little monkey corral right there.
19:11 You can't bring them in.
19:14 The nursery. It even says guilia. What
19:17 does that mean? Nursery. A nursery.
19:20 Let's go around the front here. The
19:22 Capulet's mansion. Also from Romeo and
19:24 Juliet. All right. Reach the top.
19:27 Getting a nice little view of the
19:29 cityscape here. And then you turn this
19:32 way. And this is not a filming location
19:35 video by any means, but definitely
19:36 wanted to showcase the fact that this
19:39 was also in the beginning scenes of the
19:42 movie 96 Romeo and
19:44 Juliet. This was used as the exterior. I
19:47 think mostly the pool scene and
19:48 everything where they're in the pool and
19:50 all that and her balcony was on a sound
19:53 stage, but the whole beginning was right
19:56 here. You see the movie that fountain
19:59 there, Juliet's mom is beckoning out,
20:02 Juliet. Juliet right here. Fact, that's
20:05 the same balcony right up
20:08 there. And the same staircase the guys
20:11 are bringing the cake up. It's right
20:13 over there.
20:18 Again, this is not a filming location
20:18 video per se, but definitely wanted to
20:22 mention that because this was pretty
20:23 obvious what this was used on. There a
20:24 few screen
20:33 grabs. Same carvings and everything up
20:35 Still so cool. As a local, I should ask
20:38 you, would I, if I drank out of this,
20:40 would I get Montazuma's revenge? Not
20:42 really. That that would be safe. I think
20:44 I'm not going to. No, but you could. You
20:46 could. I just wanted your opinion. I'm
20:47 not going to chance it. I could myself.
20:50 I couldn't drink the tap water, but I
20:52 would drink that water. Okay. Yeah.
20:54 Well, I figure you're probably
20:55 acclimated like you're used to you're
20:58 being here. So, you're probably your
20:59 stomach and your system is is used to
21:02 drinking Mexico water where I drink a
21:04 lot of bottle water. So, I think if I
21:05 was to drink that, especially out of the
21:07 hotel, I wouldn't drink tap water. I've
21:08 been brushing my teeth with with bottled
21:11 water. With bottled water. I don't take
21:12 any chances.
21:17 I can't Everybody says Montazuma is
21:17 revenge. You ever heard that term? Yes,
21:18 of course. But that's especially with
21:20 food. With food? Yeah. Like if you eat
21:22 mole or something like that, like heavy
21:24 sauces sauce cuz they're made with the
21:27 water. No, because they made with chile
21:29 with a lot of spicy. It's a It's very
21:31 spicy. So, Montazuma's revenge is not
21:33 about the water. Not necessarily. No,
21:35 it's it's just whatever uh you you eat
21:38 or
21:39 drink. That's not good for you.
21:43 Okay, there's the balcony right there
21:45 where her mom comes out of yelling
21:48 yelling at the
21:54 beginning. All right, let's go
21:54 in. Only the residents of the
22:02 president, but the presidents no longer
22:02 live here. They live over by where my
22:04 hotel is over by the Zokula. Exactly.
22:07 Yeah. Palace National. The national
22:08 palace.
22:16 Presidents used to live here in the
22:16 castle or in another place here in the
22:18 Chapek Park, but not anymore because it
22:21 was too expensive and not too good for
22:24 the country apparently. But
22:28 that's amazing. Look at that.
22:55 Wow. This is
22:55 fromos, one of the major muralists in
22:58 Mexican history.
23:14 pretty amazing. This thing is just at
23:16 the
23:17 top of the hill overlooking the
23:20 city. Just quite the view of this entire
23:23 park full of
23:24 trees. I heard this is bigger than
23:26 Central Park in New York.
23:30 It's massive.
23:32 There's the It's very hazy today, but
23:34 you can see a angel sculpture down there
23:38 in the middle of the
23:46 skyscrapers. One of the first elevators
23:46 in the entire country right here.
23:57 It's not in use,
23:57 but You could you could use the stairs
23:59 as well.
24:06 So in all the country this is one of the
24:06 first elevator first. Yes. Just as the
24:09 one in the central meant that we went at
24:12 the beginning with the
24:23 But there was a battle here with the US.
24:23 Yes. In 1867 or something ago.
24:32 Apparently the American army came up
24:32 through the hill to take over the
24:34 castle.
24:42 And these are the young military who
24:42 defended the castle. And years
24:44 later, I pay $5 US to come up here
24:48 without having to climb the mountain.
24:50 And I'm allowed up here. You're welcome.
25:02 I always think about that about historic
25:02 places, how the people that lived here
25:03 during those times had no idea that it
25:06 would be a tourist attraction later and
25:08 the things that they did would become
25:10 something that people are taking selfies
25:12 in front of. Very interesting how how
25:15 time is and tourist attractions. There's
25:19 a little grasshopper.
25:29 The hill of the grasshoppers. Beautiful
25:29 gardens up here. Another little
25:30 sculpture and fountain as well. This is
25:33 the very top middle portion of the
25:46 I do love stained glass. This is
25:46 amazing. Incredible.
26:01 I've learned since being here a few days
26:02 when you use the banos, the restroom,
26:04 you're going to need a peso. 10, usually
26:06 10
26:07 pesos. So, if you have that, then
26:09 they'll let you in the the bathroom. You
26:11 can't just go use a public facility
26:14 unless you unless you put this in the
26:15 little coin slot. So, I've always tried
26:18 to have some coin pesos on
26:21 me. But when you go around here, take a
26:24 look. It's like a It's like a whole
26:26 setup here. It's like this whole You got
26:29 the women here, you got the men's here,
26:32 and then you insert it in here like
26:36 so. And then you go
26:43 through. Is this the
26:43 tram? Is the tram coming
26:56 Hello. Check out over
26:56 here all the swan
27:03 boats out on the lake. Well, there's a
27:03 few swan boats. Most of them other ones
27:05 are little little smaller boats. Paddle
27:07 boats. That's the word. Self paddle
27:09 boats, I should say. There's a couple
27:11 swans out there, though.
27:21 There he is. The god of rain. The god of
27:21 water.
27:30 What's his name again? Clal. Clalok.
27:30 Yes. The god of water. Rain. Yeah. Is he
27:33 a god or just No, he is. He's
27:43 It's very Aztec. Yes.
27:43 related to the crops like to
27:45 agriculture. So that's why it was so
27:47 important because we needed water to
27:50 survive. So it's I I would say the
27:52 second most important god in the Aztec
27:54 culture. Say it one more time. Second uh
27:58 most important god in the Aztec culture.
28:01 Yeah. And how do you pronounce his name?
28:03 Clal. Kluko. Clal with T L. Aloc. Kalo.
28:08 Kaloko. Yeah. Maybe you can see Kalok.
28:10 Clal. You can see down here
28:23 Yeah. Not really.
28:23 And actually it's before the Aztecs
28:25 apparently since the Tiwakan. Oh yeah.
28:28 They already
28:30 So pre-Azzac preastic
28:39 officers are specifically for tourists.
28:39 Touristica. They speak English.
28:42 Interesting. They wear the blue shirts.
28:44 They speak English.
28:46 Tourist police.
28:48 And you can see in the back. This is
28:50 where you'll see them riding around
28:51 town. They'll like have all the officers
28:53 sitting on those little benches right
28:55 there. Cuz all these places don't take
28:57 cards, just cash. Just one of them. At
29:00 the beginning, it says that they would
29:02 accept card, but not the not the other
29:03 ones. Just cash.
29:06 I've noticed all the vendors, they love
29:07 to yell. Yes, they like to use. They
29:09 want to get your attention. They do.
29:10 They They're They're relentless.
29:13 Very aggressive and relentless here. But
29:16 it works cuz sometimes you're like, I do
29:18 need something that resembles
29:24 funions. Maybe I I do need a monkey. You
29:24 want to buy a monkey? No. If they yelled
29:27 loud enough, you'd probably buy one.
29:29 Talis. Kacadalis. Like slaps slaps in
29:32 the face. like slaps in the face because
29:35 slaps of sugar because it's like what
29:37 would happen to to the candy if they
29:39 slapped it like this. So it's just like
29:41 a candy. Yeah, it's candy. So it's like
29:43 a lollipop but slapped. We're over here
29:46 now at the museum.
29:48 This is not the art museum, right? No,
29:50 this is history anthropology museum.
29:52 Anthropology museum. You're highly
29:54 recommending I go in here? Yes, it's the
29:56 major museum in Mexico. In all of
29:58 Mexico, I would say. And right over
30:01 there's the god of water. And look right
30:02 here. There's
30:03 water. This is man-made, though. This is
30:06 coming from the ground, not the heavens.
30:10 Oh, wow. This interesting. There's like
30:12 nothing stopping anyone from just like
30:13 tripping over this and falling into
30:18 I don't think you'd see this in in the
30:19 US. I don't honestly don't think you
30:21 would see this. the trust system because
30:24 somebody we could just easily step over
30:26 there not knowing us a drop off and like
30:28 a like a a young
30:33 kid. All right. Museum of Anthropology.
30:36 Got a really goodized flag there waving
30:39 in the breeze. Cannot escape the street
30:42 vendors selling the Jaguar sound things.
30:45 They're over They're here too. They were
30:46 at the pyramids. Now they're in front of
30:48 the museum. They're everywhere. Do you
30:51 hear those Jaguar sounds in your sleep
30:54 sometimes? Yeah, I
31:05 bet. Sounds like someone's like hacking
31:05 up a log. They're like sick or
31:07 something. Admission in here is 100
31:09 pesos also and 63
31:12 pesos for video permission. Says it
31:15 right there on that
31:20 paperwork. Pretty interesting.
31:20 You have to get the permission slip. 63
31:23 pesos. Used to be 45 pesos. Still not
31:26 that much. What a couple dollar $3,
31:29 $4. Louise had to take off. Got some
31:32 prior obligations, but grateful to meet
31:34 up with him and showed me some things
31:36 before leaving. He said, "Definitely
31:37 make sure I check out this inside the
31:39 museum. This is an architectural
31:42 marvel." And the
31:45 name translates to umbrella cuz it is
31:49 shaped like an umbrella. This fountain
31:52 is the only thing holding up the roof.
31:54 You can see the roof over here. There is
31:57 a
32:05 gap. Isn't that amazing?
32:16 carving there in the water or behind the
32:19 water I should
32:26 say. And looking back the other way, you
32:26 can see only thing holding it up like
32:29 that is that
32:30 umbrella-esque type of architecture. I
32:33 also like on this card that they have
32:35 kind of an old school video camera as
32:38 opposed to like the the new
32:41 style. They haven't updated the image on
32:44 the camera
32:53 use. All right, this
32:53 is this is really awesome so far just in
32:56 the first little section here.
33:40 area. If I was reading the signs
33:40 correctly.
33:52 And now over into a different wing of
33:52 the museum. This is the Oldm area. So if
33:56 you ride the Mexico pavilion through
33:58 Cababayeras, right, the boat
34:02 ride, you pass an MC head similar to
34:05 this one.
35:16 Now do another section. The world of
35:16 Mexico.
35:52 Take a look at these little skull
35:52 carvings on this one.
35:59 All right, going to grab a Uber back
35:59 over to the Zoka area.
36:02 Also, this water should not be drank. I
36:05 mean, you're really not supposed to
36:06 drink any water, but this is definitely
36:09 non-potable
36:14 water. You can drink bottle
36:14 water or from a coffee shop that uses
36:17 purified water. Just don't drink any of
36:20 that water.
36:22 So there's an X through the guy drinking
36:24 the tap water. All right, got dropped
36:26 off. Took the Uber. Now back over here
36:29 by the
36:34 Zoka. A little bit down. I had to drop
36:34 off a little bit before there cuz it
36:36 gets a little congested down that way.
36:37 And that's going to do it for today.
36:40 Very
36:41 busy busy day in Mexico
36:54 That's going to do it for tonight.
36:54 You'll see the next video. The vlog is
