0:02 Welcome everyone. Adam the Woo here. Day
0:02 number two of my non diet.
0:10 That's a little warm. Instead of my
0:10 usual three creams, three sugars in my
0:12 coffee, I'm going to start only getting
0:14 one cream and one sugar and always start
0:17 off with some fruit and wash it down
0:19 with some water. I used to have a friend
0:20 many years ago that had this philosophy
0:22 that if you drank a soda or a coffee or
0:25 a tea, if you washed it down with the
0:27 same ounces of water afterwards, it kind
0:31 of negated
0:33 what you just drank, the bad portions. I
0:35 don't know. I don't know if there's any
0:37 truth to that, but it kind of Man, this
0:38 is fog. Look at this. It's fogging up my
0:40 glasses. It's so warm.
0:42 It's my second channel, daily vlog
0:44 channel. It's the daily woo. I'm calling
0:47 this the non-diet because I'm not going
0:49 to weigh myself. In fact, I'm not even
0:51 really worried about trying to
0:53 dramatically lose weight. I just want to
0:55 feel better and have a little bit of a
0:57 lifestyle change in the eating
1:00 department. Just try to nestle in some
1:03 fruits, some veggies, cut down on the
1:06 sugar, and just see what happens over
1:08 the next 6, seven months to a year and
1:10 see if there's any difference. Well,
1:11 well, well. What have we here?
1:15 Florida.
1:18 It's been a while since I seen you and
1:20 it's been a while since I had a banana.
1:22 It has been 78 days since I left here on
1:27 New Year's Day. It's a good thing
1:28 they're still open for business because
1:30 I was kind of worried and it wasn't
1:32 planned, but it looks like I made it
1:33 just in time for the tail end of spring
1:36 training. I got myself the schedule and
1:39 I'm wondering is that supposed to be
1:41 Florida, man? And of course, free juice.
1:44 They let you get orange juice or
1:47 grapefruit. I opted for the grapefruit.
1:52 It's like doing a shot
1:54 of nutrients needed to fuel up the RV.
1:57 And this gas station not only has
2:00 coconuts, but they have a lots and lots
2:03 of bags of citrus. I think I'm going to
2:06 get some. I ended up getting some
2:08 peacons and some navel oranges. I'm
2:11 going to give them to my mom when I get
2:13 to her place. Crossing over the Amelia
2:16 River now and heading to a little place
2:19 tucked away in the corner of Fernandino
2:22 Beach. Okay, it's actually pronounced
2:24 Fernandina.
2:26 I think I had the Flintstones on my
2:28 mind. They call this area Oldtown
2:31 because the houses date way back. Look
2:34 at these things. They're incredible. But
2:37 I'm searching for one house in
2:39 particular that I've really wanted to
2:41 visit for quite some time now. Judging
2:44 by that tire swing, we might be in the
2:48 right area cuz that's the type of thing
2:50 that she would enjoy. I'm talking about
2:53 the one and only rambunctious youngster.
2:57 Pippy logtockings.
2:59 Oh my gosh. No way.
3:04 That's her house. In 1988, there was a
3:08 movie called The New Adventures of Pippy
3:10 Long Stockings, and I watched it a bunch
3:12 of times, mostly because my sister loved
3:15 that movie. So, it is permanently
3:18 ingrained in my head, but I can't place
3:21 all the blame on my sister because truth
3:23 be told, I really enjoyed it. It's a
3:26 pretty fun film. They have definitely
3:27 fixed it up since the movie. A lot of
3:29 the action happened on this side of the
3:32 structure, including the scene where her
3:34 and the two other kids came out of the
3:36 shed, which was right over there, and
3:38 she was spinning around rapidly, and
3:40 their vehicle went off up into the air.
3:43 As far as comparison shots go, this is
3:45 probably the best angle. You can see the
3:47 fence has been replaced and the siding
3:50 has been repainted, but other than that,
3:53 everything pretty much looks exactly as
3:55 it did and in the same spots. It makes
3:58 me wonder if the horse Alfonso and the
4:01 monkey Mr. Nielsen are around anywhere.
4:03 Pippy Long Stockings is coming in to
4:07 your town. And Santa be found. No, no,
4:12 no, no. The girl that's fun to be
4:15 around. Pippy long stockings is coming
4:19 in to your world. The freckle face at
4:23 the head girl. Now I know is get the
4:26 side to be ahead.
4:44 It is super windy out here.
4:44 Pippy has inspired a legion of girls to
4:47 go out exploring.
4:49 She the legend lives on. Oh yeah.
4:53 Heading on to 95 South. Normally when I
4:56 head into Florida, I take 75 south to
4:59 the turnpike, but I've done that route
5:01 so many times. Plus, I want to swing
5:03 through Jacksonville. Something I want
5:05 to check out there.
5:08 Still a pretty good ways to get down to
5:09 my parents house in St. Cloud, Florida,
5:11 which is where I live for over 20 years
5:14 in that area, the CM St. Cloud, that
5:18 Twin Cities region. And I must say,
5:21 Florida, for me personally, is a lot
5:24 more exciting when I've been gone for a
5:26 while. Once I cross that state line, I
5:29 get a moment of happiness remembering my
5:31 late teens into my early adult years and
5:34 all the memories that are down there.
5:36 Florida is very similar to Texas or
5:39 California where it takes a long time to
5:41 get from point A to point B. I'm heading
5:44 to Central Florida. Currently, I'm in
5:46 North Florida. So, got a little bit of a
5:48 ways to go, but
5:51 I'm enjoying the trip.
5:54 There's a lighthouse right there near
5:57 downtown next to a parking structure.
6:00 That's something you don't see too
6:01 often. The backside of a concrete truck.
6:05 That's where all the concrete goes. I
6:07 pulled over and parked
6:09 just near downtown
6:12 at the old city cemetery. And the sign
6:15 states that it is police patrolled and
6:18 to respect the dead.
6:23 I don't even think that they should have
6:24 to even mention that. You think that
6:26 people would do that
6:29 already?
6:31 Hey, do you happen to know where Alice
6:33 Nun's grave is? Alice? Yeah. Alice
6:36 Elizabeth Nun. I tried looking up
6:38 online. She was in the movie Peewee's
6:40 Big Adventure. She was uh she played
6:43 large marge. I know. You know what's
6:46 funny? It's like I probably should I
6:49 know you have uh the swimming's over
6:52 here. The first black doctor way back
6:54 there. You have
6:57 uh like far back that way back. Um and
7:02 then you have Do you know how the
7:03 sections are divided? Cuz I know the
7:06 section number. I I don't. The police
7:08 officer had no idea. I'm on my own.
7:12 Sometimes finding
7:14 particular headstones is very difficult
7:16 when you do not have a pinpointed area
7:20 on where to look. This might be
7:22 difficult. Wow, this one is incredible.
7:24 Look at the detail carved in there. It's
7:28 And it's very large that one compared to
7:31 the other ones. You can see just how big
7:34 that one is. Normally what I do is I try
7:36 to find a video clip of someone who has
7:38 visited a cemetery or a photograph and
7:41 look at something in the background
7:42 either like a rock wall or a tree or
7:45 some other structure. In this case,
7:48 there is not a lot of information
7:50 online, only one photo of the headstone
7:52 itself. A very close-up shot. Nothing in
7:56 the background. I'm having a hard time
7:59 finding it. For a minute, I thought I
8:00 had found it. I'm looking for the last
8:02 name. None. This is done.
8:06 Very close, but not the one I'm looking
8:09 for. If I could just find section three,
8:12 lot 75,
8:15 that would help. And sometimes they have
8:17 markers designating the areas,
8:21 but not here. There comes a point
8:22 sometimes when you have to just call it
8:24 a day, cast everything aside, and say,
8:27 "Heck it. It's not meant to be." And
8:30 that's how I was feeling as I was
8:32 exiting and going back to Large Marge,
8:34 my RV, named after Alice Nun, the
8:37 character from Peewee's Big Adventure. I
8:40 wandered down this hill in one last
8:43 attempt to find the final resting place,
8:46 and I succeeded. It's almost as if I was
8:49 meant to find her and pay my respects.
8:53 She had a 31year career in films, but is
8:58 best remembered from that 1985 comedy
9:02 with Paul Rubin's in the truck, the
9:05 worst accident I ever seen.
9:09 Alice Elizabeth Nun aka Large Marge.
9:21 Wow. 3 years after that movie was made,
9:21 she passed away in 1988.
9:41 Damn. You just drove all the way down
9:42 here? Well, a couple days. Been a few
9:43 days. Yeah. Yeah. You don't want to be
9:46 doing nothing. You don't do drugs. Cuz
9:47 you don't look like you do. No. No. I'm
9:48 pretty straight, man. That's what's up.
9:50 I try to be anyway. You know. Anyway.
9:52 Cool. Anyway. Yeah. Cuz I I knew I'm all
9:54 out here if you need it cuz I You feel
9:56 me? But at the same time, it ain't no
9:57 pressure. Ain't no pressure. I'm all
10:00 right just to be alive. That's it, man.
10:02 And out here. But I'm mad, man. Cuz it
10:05 it done changed out here, man. I got
10:06 drunk and got pissed off. Yeah. Well,
10:09 take care, buddy. All right, man. Enjoy
10:11 the Starbucks, man. Catch you later,
10:13 man. Thank you. No problem, man. Later,
10:15 man. Driving. Thanks, man. I will. All
10:17 right. Now,
10:29 there it is. The old abandoned school
10:29 still there. I did a video there many
10:31 years ago. Good old Jacksonville. It had
10:33 been a while since I passed through
10:34 here. Didn't stay long, but it's good to
10:37 see you. I'm going to paraphrase, but it
10:39 seems only fitting. It was 10 years ago
10:44 on a night just like this.
10:48 On this same stretch of road in the
10:52 dense fog,
10:54 there was this sound
10:56 like a garbage truck
10:59 dropped off the Empire State Building.
11:03 And when they pulled the driver's body
11:07 from the twisted,
11:10 burning wreck,
11:13 it looked just like
11:16 At the current moment, I'm at that
11:18 purple arrow and pin and I'm making my
11:22 way all the way down past Orlando,
11:28 little bit past CM.
11:31 And final destination of the day,
11:35 St. Cloud, Florida. Look closely to the
11:37 right there. The sign 95 South. And not
11:41 only is this a good road for
11:42 transportation,
11:44 but it also reminds us of the music
11:46 group. All my fellas, where the booty
11:48 at? There it is.
11:52 Don't know that one, huh? This is kind
11:54 of unusual. It's made of metal. Looks
11:56 like a colorful umbrella in there in the
12:00 woods. And right over here, oh hello,
12:02 state trooper. They advertise Stuckies
12:05 merchandise. That police officer just
12:07 gave those people a ride to the
12:10 Stuckies.
12:16 What a nice guy. These places are few
12:16 and far between anymore. It's hard to
12:19 find one that's still in business. I
12:21 don't need any more mugs, but if I was
12:24 in the market for one, they would be
12:25 mine. Has a what is that? like a tiger
12:28 right there and a water skier and a
12:30 flamingo or I could get a shot glass,
12:33 shampoo, a gator, some dolphins.
12:36 Yesterday I visited a dog and there is a
12:38 correlation to the store in a roundabout
12:40 way. There was a contest asking people
12:43 what they should name the petrified dog
12:45 and someone came up with Stucky. Not
12:48 because he was stuck inside that piece
12:50 of wood, but because that piece of wood
12:53 resembled a log of the peon persuasion.
12:57 I wonder if there's a dog in there.
13:00 I hope not.
13:10 These are so good. St. Cloud, Florida
13:10 to the left. Going to take a lengthy
13:14 long back road.
13:16 Almost there.
13:23 I think
13:23 I think I have enough gas. Hopefully I
13:24 got about 30 miles.
13:27 I think I should be okay. Hopefully.
13:29 Probably should have got some more gas
13:30 back there at that stuckies, but
13:32 hindsight's 2020. It was also a TV show.
13:36 They say the best gas efficiency is at
13:38 55 mph, so that's how fast I'm going to
13:41 go. I should probably also mention that
13:43 I have no cell phone service out here.
13:45 This is Nova Road. It's literally
13:49 in the middle of nowhere. And that just
13:52 happened. 49 miles to empty. And
13:55 speaking of 55 mph, you know when you go
13:57 purchase a new vehicle and on the window
13:59 it has the miles per gallon on the
14:01 little sheet that tells you all the
14:03 specifications of the car or the van or
14:06 the RV and then you start driving it and
14:08 you realize this does not get the good
14:10 gas mileage that they promised. That's
14:13 because that gas mileage is based on you
14:16 going 55 miles per hour. And that
14:19 started, don't quote me on this, but I
14:21 think it started during the Reagan
14:23 administration. So, every mile over mile
14:27 per hour over 55 m per gallon, you're
14:30 going to get worse gas mileage than that
14:32 sticker quoted. And I apologize for
14:34 being so long- winded. I'm just really
14:36 not trying to think about what will
14:38 happen if I run out of gas out here.
14:40 What about you cows? You got any fuel?
14:44 Please, I need help. But there is one
14:46 thing I've never fully been convinced
14:48 of. You get better gas mileage with the
14:50 windows down and the AC off or with the
14:53 windows up and the AC on. Right now, I
14:56 have the windows down and the AC's off.
14:59 That's where I That's what I'm leaning
15:00 towards. But I honestly I really don't
15:02 know. After nightfall, this stretch of
15:04 road is very dangerous. It is not
15:06 uncommon for people to total their cars
15:08 by hitting deer in the darkness. And one
15:11 time I was coming back from band
15:12 practice down this road and there was a
15:14 hog the size of a grown man. I'm not
15:17 even kidding. I missed it by mere
15:19 inches. But at this moment in time, I
15:22 would probably rather have a full tank
15:24 of gas and battle the hogs of nightness
15:27 than be in the situation I am in right
15:29 now. What am I saying? It could be
15:32 worse. I mean, I have a camper.
15:34 If if the RV dies on the side of the
15:37 road, I could just sleep in the camper,
15:39 be out here forever, like into the wild.
15:42 I just don't want Don't eat any berries
15:44 that you don't don't know what they are,
15:46 cuz that could end tragically. And for
15:48 those following along at home, I have
15:51 kind of lost my mind in the last 20
15:54 miles or so. You can see the descent
15:56 that I have been taking. Just the slow
15:59 descent, a breath of fresh air,
16:02 civilization
16:05 to the right. Oh man, this town. So many
16:09 memories.
16:11 So many places I lived and worked in
16:14 this vicinity.
16:16 And like an old friend, a beacon of
16:19 happiness,
16:21 still standing strong, the water tower.
16:26 Good to see you, pal.
16:29 Good to see you.
