0:02 Today's adventure begins as the
0:02 recording of this TGIF. It is Friday,
0:05 August 8th, 2025. I'm looking at my
0:09 reflection here in the window at the
0:11 bottom floor of the hotel. Well, close
0:13 to the bottom floor, the hotel I'm
0:15 staying at. It's going to be meeting up
0:17 with a buddy. He's at his hotel. He just
0:19 arrived in town last night also. He's
0:22 going to meet me over here and then
0:23 we're going to head into Hollywood
0:25 proper and do some Hollywood things.
0:28 Welcome everyone. Adam the Woo here. I'm
0:31 inviting you to join me. You know, I'm
0:34 thinking of I don't believe him and I
0:37 have ever explored the Boulevard and
0:40 Hollywood things before. Now, he's been
0:42 here before when I've been here many
0:44 years ago. We did South Pasadenaes
0:46 stuff, but he loves Hollywood stuff as
0:49 much as I do. So, it could be an
0:51 interesting little combo today. this. I
0:54 don't know why I'm crossing my fingers,
0:55 but I meant to say we're like this when
0:57 it comes to Hollywood stuff. We're we're
1:01 like two. I don't know what what to do.
1:04 Join me. He's arriving soon. Chalia, say
1:08 hello to the turtle. And the fish is
1:10 over here. Well, there's more than one
1:12 turtle. There's one out getting a little
1:14 sun. There's another one swimming over
1:16 there in the shadows.
1:25 an impromptu
1:25 Hollywood day. Probably the boulevard,
1:28 but maybe other things, too. I don't I
1:29 don't really know. We're just We're just
1:30 going to wing it.
1:31 >> Just like that, Micah has arrived. I'm
1:33 >> here.
1:35 >> So, I was asking, but I asked for the
1:36 camera. We have never been to Hollywood
1:38 Boulevard together.
1:39 >> No, just South Pasadena and Disneyland,
1:42 obviously.
1:43 >> Yeah,
1:43 >> that was it.
1:44 >> It's going to be interesting to feed off
1:46 of each other.
1:46 >> I know.
1:47 >> I'm so excited.
1:48 >> So, there's a place I know you're going
1:49 to want to see. You probably se I've
1:51 covered it nine million times in my
1:52 videos and I've seen it, but you've
1:54 never seen it with your own eyes.
1:55 >> No.
1:56 >> Let's go. Let's go over here.
2:00 >> Go for it, man.
2:01 >> All right.
2:08 >> Oh my gosh.
2:14 man. I mean, obviously they had a little
2:14 bit more, but
2:16 >> that's the spot. Jeff comes out of that
2:18 door. Yeah, it looks up. This is crazy.
2:22 >> Always gets me is that there's a few
2:24 different camera angles. One from up
2:25 there, one from right here.
2:27 >> Yeah.
2:28 >> But this platform here, you know, the
2:31 camera was there and Zmechus was up on
2:33 this little ledge,
2:34 >> dude. That's it.
2:35 >> Isn't that wild?
2:36 >> Totally.
2:37 >> And here's what's so cool about this
2:39 door. When Marty goes out, watch how the
2:42 door still does the same same kind of
2:44 stutter. Watch.
2:47 >> Oh, that's so good. All right, we just
2:49 got dropped off right over here at the
2:51 Pantageous
2:53 near Amoeba
2:55 corner of Argyle and Hollywood
2:56 Boulevard. We're going to walk up first
2:59 about two blocks down to a little place
3:00 over here. Oh, look at this.
3:03 They're delivering the little robots.
3:14 I never I never really realized how they
3:14 were how they were dropped off. I bring
3:17 a U-Haul. So cool.
3:18 >> Just drop them off right there.
3:22 >> It names, too.
3:29 Any idea what this Chinese food place
3:29 might be, Micah? Is this it? So, we are
3:31 right next to where Blink182 recorded
3:34 Chesire C parts of it.
3:38 >> And I there's like an interview with
3:39 them, if I remember correctly, about
3:41 them eating at a Chinese food place on
3:43 Hollywood Boulevard. This is the one.
3:58 >> Think about like insane that would be to
3:58 be like that young, daddy inexperienced,
4:01 and you're writing like
4:03 music that kids will be reciting for the
4:05 rest of their lives. Now, I know there
4:07 was two different locations
4:09 that were used as a recording studio,
4:16 but one of them was over here behind.
4:16 Used to be a Museum of Death that
4:18 closed,
4:18 >> dude. That's right. Museum of Death was
4:20 down here.
4:22 >> So, maybe the entrance would have been
4:24 right here. Could have been loading
4:25 their stuff in there.
4:52 I cut myself on that window. But yeah,
4:52 >> stickers here.
4:54 >> The thing is there's not really a lot of
4:55 info and photos from back then. Like all
4:59 the bands that recorded in here, there's
5:00 not a whole heck of a lot of a lot of
5:02 pictures and infocus. No one was really
5:04 documenting stuff back then, but
5:07 >> not even the bands themselves really.
5:11 >> This is cool.
5:13 Stickers.
5:16 >> Yeah, it had to been this side cuz over
5:18 there isn't isn't the same.
5:25 Yeah, it's just a storage facility now.
5:25 I can't tell if those are books or
5:26 records or CDs or what those are. Oh, I
5:28 don't know what that is on the Put my
5:30 hand in this.
5:45 >> I also think that No Effects is white
5:45 trash album was here.
5:47 >> Wow.
5:53 >> The name of it was West Beach Records.
5:53 Rick Gerwitz of Bad Religion Fame opened
5:55 it up
5:57 and as best I can tell again there's not
5:59 a whole lot of pictures online or no
6:01 pictures online that I could find a
6:03 quick search. It was in a little back
6:05 corner back over in here.
6:17 >> When were we going to get these in
6:17 Florida? He's a He's a dragon from uh
6:20 He's a Toothless from How to Train Your
6:22 Dragon.
6:23 >> Many years ago when I lived in
6:24 Hollywood, they had an it chapter 1 and
6:28 then a couple years later it chapter 2
6:30 pop up here. Now they have a new alien
6:33 popup.
6:36 I don't know if it's a popup or if it's
6:38 just an advertisement. Probably just an
6:39 advertisement. But you got the the bay
6:42 door right there all illuminated.
6:45 You got the creature right up there
6:47 looking very scary.
6:54 I don't know if it's a popup.
6:54 Sometimes you'll see these a lot of
6:55 times on Sunset where they'll take over
6:58 a block and they'll put big banners up.
7:12 believe that's his name. He also did the
7:12 Universal Monster mural. It's at
7:14 Universal Studios Hollywood.
7:18 Tristan Eaton, I believe his name is.
7:27 It's got a lot of the, you know, a lot
7:27 of movie stars up there. You got Divine
7:29 up there in the corner for Pink
7:30 Flamingos. You got Mel's Diner. I think
7:33 a inscription of Mel's Diner. Is that
7:34 supposed to be Mel's Diner right there?
7:36 Maryland. You got Ry's Donuts.
7:40 iconic spots around LA. Is that Crybaby
7:44 over there right there? I think that's
7:45 the actress from Crybab. Crybaby. You
7:47 got a punk rock skull
7:49 right there. And of course, Capital
7:52 Records.
7:53 Iconic Capital Records right here. I saw
7:55 Ringo Star celebrate his birthday once
7:57 back when I lived in Hollywood between
7:59 2017 and 19. All right, that answers
8:01 that. It's not a popup. It's just
8:02 billboards. But yeah, before they've
8:05 done a lot of stuff here on the corner
8:06 of Hollywood and by
8:08 >> Caesar Romero.
8:09 >> Oh, yeah. from Batman.
8:12 >> I can't tell if this is set dressing or
8:14 or real thing right here.
8:18 >> Setting up out here for some filming.
8:21 >> That's set dressing.
8:22 >> Yeah, this is
8:24 >> $2.56.
8:26 $2.50.
8:28 >> Yeah, you're right. Dalton Pwick books.
8:33 look at this.
8:35 >> That's pretty good set dressing, man.
8:36 thing is like it's been rotting away
8:38 there forever. Or was this already here
8:40 and they just put that over the top of
8:42 it?
8:42 >> Just put it over it. 50 cents. There's
8:44 no every 20 minutes 50 cents.
8:46 >> You think this is the new Brad Pitt TV
8:48 show?
8:48 >> This is the new Cliff Booth.
8:49 >> Is there a TV show or a movie?
8:51 >> It's a TV show on Netflix. And it says
8:52 right here, heaven or Las Vegas.
8:55 >> Here's Billy Joe up there.
8:57 >> There he is. That's so cool.
9:05 >> Oh yeah. Look, he's set dressing it up
9:05 right there.
9:16 >> What if we just randomly saw Brad Pit
9:16 walking?
9:16 >> I would lose my mind.
9:17 >> What would you say? What would you What
9:18 would you say to Brad Pit?
9:38 Micah, you are wearing an appropriate
9:38 t-shirt. Not because show girls,
9:41 >> but because a scene from Maxine took
9:43 place right here. You have the shirt on.
9:45 You know, I almost brought with Adam
9:46 with me on my trip cuz I have it also
9:48 and I knew you were going to be wearing
9:49 it tonight. We're here on Quangga Buster
9:51 Katon's old stomping grounds. He filmed
9:53 a lot of stuff including the scene where
9:55 he grabs onto the back of the car and
9:57 zips off and all the police officers are
9:58 chasing him through that alley. We'll
10:00 walk over there. But take a look over
10:01 here at Goofy.
10:03 >> Oh, yuck.
10:04 >> And it got the Hollywood on here. This
10:07 reminds me of when you're at the parks
10:08 and they, you know, the they'll take
10:10 they'll take the broom with the water
10:12 >> and they go they go
10:14 >> on the ears. [laughter]
10:16 >> That's what it reminds me of.
10:17 >> That's totally it, man.
10:19 >> There he goes. Chaplain, Katon, and
10:21 Lloyd Alley using three different ones.
10:24 The Kid, Cops, and Safety Last. Three of
10:27 the greatest comedies of all time were
10:28 filmed part along the east west alley of
10:30 Quena to Cosmo.
10:33 >> This alley?
10:34 >> Yeah, right here.
10:42 Adam's blowing my mind right now. We are
10:42 looking at Chapman and Lloyd Alley.
10:45 Obviously Charlie Chaplan, Buster
10:48 Keaton, and Harry Lloyd.
10:51 There's the plaque right there.
10:54 There's the there's the angle from
10:55 across the road.
10:58 Yeah,
11:00 Buster Keaton.
11:07 And there's a quick little photo there.
11:07 There's Buster grabbing on the back of
11:08 the car. All the officers chasing him
11:11 down that alley.
11:13 That was like 103 years ago. Well, over
11:17 100 years ago. I think it came out in
11:18 22. I never thought about up this till
11:21 just now, but there are technically two
11:23 Buster Katon alleys right next to each
11:25 other.
11:26 The original one and the Maxine Buster
11:28 Keaton Alley are side by side.
11:30 >> They are.
11:31 >> What were you saying?
11:32 >> Right over there in the corner that used
11:34 to be a cigar shop. Um where it's like
11:36 has the where you can pull up the the
11:39 garage. Fellow Legos used to walk down
11:41 there and get his cigars
11:43 >> and that's where he was kind of
11:44 introduced to Ed Wood. But in Ed Wood,
11:47 Tim Burton's film, the same building and
11:50 where that kind of goes as like a shape
11:52 and there's some faces above the top.
11:54 >> On the other side is where Bella Losce
11:57 in the film Edward Tim Burton's film
11:58 gives his final speech before he passes
12:00 away.
12:05 >> I had no idea. So that's why it's good
12:06 we're together. We can teach each other
12:07 little weird things.
12:09 >> Here's the other Buster Katon alley.
12:11 >> Maxine's a barn.
12:14 But speaking of Buster Katon, this is
12:16 where the uh the infamous scene that
12:18 every guy that watches cringes pretty
12:21 hard happened right here in this little
12:22 alleyway
12:31 outside of Maxine's apartment.
12:31 >> So Melrose Larry Green, you want to So
12:33 are the are the rumors true about Howard
12:35 Stern getting kicked off the air?
12:36 >> No. No. I I think Howard will be back. I
12:38 think it's hype.
12:39 >> Yeah, I thought so, too.
12:40 >> I think it's hype
12:41 >> cuz uh what was the rumor? The Sirius
12:42 was going to get rid of him, right?
12:43 >> Yeah. No, no, no. This is the greatest
12:44 publicity in the world. Howard is like
12:46 Trump.
12:47 >> I love Trump. I love Howard.
12:48 >> Okay.
12:49 >> Uh so let me just say that. I love
12:50 Howard and Howard made me famous.
12:52 >> Did you were on the show again recently,
12:54 right?
12:55 >> I could be on every day if I want.
12:57 >> I'm Mel Rose Larry Green.
12:58 >> I know who you are.
12:59 >> I was my man. [laughter]
13:01 >> Speaking of Pekka, Adam, my mother's
13:03 maiden name was Pekka. My mother, if my
13:06 mother had been a man, I would have been
13:07 Melrose Larry Pekka.
13:10 A whole whole different life. Jackie
13:12 Molly once called me a peek ahead. I
13:14 said, in fact, I am. By the way, I love
13:15 Jackie Molly.
13:16 >> Howard, you should bring back Arty.
13:19 >> Jackie,
13:20 >> that was the best error for me.
13:21 >> Bring back me. You never brought me on
13:22 to begin with, but give me a gig. I'll
13:24 move to New York, Dammy. Like, it's
13:26 1969. Hey, Mom. Dammy, what's your
13:29 camera called? It's like a a penis.
13:30 What's it called?
13:31 >> It's called the Osmo Pocket 3.
13:33 >> Looks like a penis. Anyway,
13:34 >> it does. [laughter] Yeah.
13:35 >> I want to give it a BJ. Anyway,
13:38 that that little penis camera will be
13:40 mayor [laughter] before mom dam. Use
13:42 this man.
13:43 >> Larry, always a pleasure, man.
13:44 >> Here's your release right here.
13:45 >> I will, buddy.
13:46 >> There's one release. I got another
13:48 release in the back.
13:48 >> All right, Larry. Always a pleasure,
13:50 man. Good to see you.
13:51 >> The most important thing, Larry.
13:53 >> The most important thing is that you
13:56 have a healthy bowel movement. And may
13:59 all your bowel movements be full. Like
14:02 your kiddish cup today is Chavez. My
14:04 kiddos cup is full, but my bowels are
14:06 empty.
14:09 >> I love Howard Stern. I love all you
14:12 freaks yelling and screaming Howard
14:14 Stern. Nobody would know Mel Rose Larry
14:16 Green without Howard Stern. So I want
14:19 everybody to know, especially Adam and
14:21 Micah.
14:22 >> Micah, Micah, Bob, banana.
14:25 My uncle invented four Micah.
14:26 >> Four Micah.
14:27 >> You know what for Micah is? Two Mic and
14:29 two Mic for Micah. [laughter]
14:31 >> I love you, man. Anytime you need me.
14:33 >> All right, buddy. I'll see you next
14:34 time. Good talking to I was just
14:36 thinking a few months ago I saw Tim
14:37 Burton get his star right here in front
14:40 of the costume shop right here. And then
14:43 I realized
14:44 cuz there's a sign on the window still.
14:47 It was September of last year. It's been
14:50 11 months. 11 freaking months since Tim
14:53 Burton got his star over there. It
14:56 literally feels like 2 months ago. Where
14:58 the heck does the time go? It's been a
15:00 year ago since I turned 50 and from D23.
15:03 It feels like a couple months ago.
15:04 >> City, right?
15:05 >> So, he was the head of the Chamber of
15:07 Commerce. He would issue the stars and
15:09 the handprints at the Chinese Theater
15:10 and that kind of thing. And he lived
15:11 here.
15:12 >> Oh, yeah.
15:15 >> Oh, you got the pocket. Yeah. You got
15:16 the
15:18 >> where Johnny Grant at the
15:24 >> This is This is a huge deal.
15:24 >> Isn't it lovely? So, the style is not It
15:27 was very plain Jane when he lived here.
15:29 They just renovated this less than two
15:30 years ago.
15:32 Holy cow, this is massive.
15:34 >> Beautiful, right,
15:38 >> Johnny Grant?
15:38 >> So, when I say it wasn't like this, like
15:40 the floor wasn't like this, this wood
15:41 paneling wasn't here, like it like all
15:43 of this is new.
15:44 >> And you rent this out. The hotel rents
15:46 this out.
15:46 >> Yeah. Like a hospitality. You see
15:49 there's like a 12 person dining.
15:50 >> This is on the roof level.
15:51 >> Yes.
15:55 >> But pretty rare that you'll see
15:56 >> Johnny Grants see hotel rooms like this
16:00 with things like this.
16:05 Oh my gosh.
16:05 >> this is the kitchen. It's like a hidden
16:07 kitchen.
16:08 >> Spoiler alert, there's a kitchen.
16:10 >> Got the right. [clears throat]
16:12 >> What's this cost tonight to rent?
16:14 >> I have no idea. The the desk will be
16:16 able to tell you that.
16:17 >> You can you can ask her the desk like,
16:18 "Hey, this just hypothetically
16:20 >> have a Hollywood party in here."
16:23 >> Wow. Stationary.
16:24 >> Yeah. This is uh next level, man. Look
16:26 at this. Oh [laughter] my god.
16:28 >> Beautiful, right?
16:30 Oh, no way. [clears throat]
16:32 >> Oh, and there's the roof right there.
16:34 >> There it is. This This is This made my
16:37 whole day.
16:39 >> Nice.
16:40 >> So, like when I say this is new, like
16:42 you know, like none of this was here,
16:44 guys. That shelving was not here. The
16:46 paneling, like even when you get to this
16:49 phase of looking
16:50 >> Oh my gosh. There's a balcony
16:52 >> where the tree that tree wasn't even
16:54 here. That they craned that tree up like
16:56 less than two years.
16:58 >> Holy Yeah, less than two years
17:00 ago.
17:01 >> You see Century City over there in the
17:02 distance?
17:03 >> Exactly. So, he knows his way around
17:04 >> the Die Hard building.
17:06 >> Oh. Oh, is that where the Die Hard?
17:09 >> Way over there.
17:11 >> Naki Naki.
17:12 >> Nakatomi Plaza. You can see Nakatomi
17:14 Plaza from here.
17:14 >> You sure can.
17:16 >> The big reason why I wanted to show you
17:17 this too, other than it's just beautiful
17:19 and impressive and cool,
17:21 >> is that you know, you get that south
17:23 facing.
17:24 >> You won't get from the roof. Actually,
17:25 >> this is insane.
17:26 >> Was that a bed pan? I hope so.
17:29 >> Like late 40s, you know.
17:30 >> Um,
17:32 >> so so the pool was added then, so it has
17:35 more of a mid-century vibe to it. So So
17:38 my thought was like what he was thinking
17:40 when he designed these things
17:42 >> was that um
17:45 he would give it like a fusion of
17:46 mid-century art deco kind of feel, you
17:48 know?
17:49 >> Y
17:51 >> it's cool, right?
17:52 >> So the last thing I saw this used in pop
17:54 culture for was the chili peppers. The
17:56 music the Fallon show, right? Or Kimmel.
17:58 >> Kimmel. Kimmel.
17:59 >> Yeah, cuz Kimmel is right next door.
18:00 >> And the Chili Peppers are doing one of
18:02 their new songs right up here. They have
18:03 the drum kit set up right here.
18:04 >> Exactly. So, I came in to work. I work
18:06 Friday through Sunday. That was on a
18:08 Thursday evening, I think. So, I come in
18:10 on a Friday and this this guest comes up
18:12 to me. He's like, "Dude," he's like, "I
18:14 was so pissed last night." And he's he
18:16 was standing on the 12 floor. He's like,
18:17 "There's always this noise. Somebody was
18:19 jamming this music." He's like, "I was
18:21 so pissed." And he like somehow this
18:23 dude was like resourceful and like
18:24 really willing to pursue his anger. So
18:26 somehow he got up here and he looked and
18:29 he's like, "Holy the red hot chili
18:31 peppers are playing right there."
18:32 >> Oh yeah, dude. Flee was Flea was right
18:34 here going crazy.
18:35 >> He was not mad at all anymore. He ended
18:37 up getting one of Chad Smith's
18:39 drumsticks. [music]
18:40 Like I was like, "Okay."
18:42 >> Have they filmed any other Have they
18:43 filmed any movies or anything up here
18:45 that we
18:45 >> I mean, do they film
18:47 >> stuff? You see the Hollywood sign from
18:48 here, too?
18:49 >> Oh, are we allowed to walk all around?
18:50 >> Sure. Sure. Thanks, man.
18:52 >> So much stuff gets done here, man.
18:55 >> So, yes. I'm going to say yes. Do I know
18:57 what? Absolutely not. Certainly not in
18:59 like an itemized fashion right there.
19:02 Ton of stuff.
19:11 That's unusual. One thing I would do
19:11 is type a static walk all the way
19:13 towards that that that
19:16 >> wall with the door there and just look
19:18 right. It's a really cool downoulevard.
19:21 >> Looks like they got
19:29 I wish I wish I could unlock this and
19:29 punch it in further cuz even better.
19:33 >> Oh, this is awesome.
19:36 I went I was only up here one other time
19:38 with some friends, but it was at night.
19:39 It wasn't during the day. That was a few
19:44 >> None of that was there.
19:45 >> Oh, okay. until like the early 2000s.
19:48 >> it was I forget how it was now. You know
19:50 what I mean? It's been like this for 20
19:52 something years, so I can't remember,
19:54 but that whole structure is new.
19:56 >> And they got like five or six more
19:59 screens.
20:00 >> The the Highland Mall. The Hollywood
20:02 Highland Mall.
20:03 >> Yeah. It's as an extension of the
20:04 Chinese Theater. They have more screens.
20:05 It's weird cuz it's like the ceiling is
20:07 like really steep.
20:09 >> It's kind of cool cuz then you don't you
20:11 can see way over the person in front of
20:12 you. It's actually a nice cool weird
20:15 feeling, but it's cool. Um, but yeah,
20:17 it's a nice theater.
20:19 >> it's a cool view, man.
20:20 >> So cool.
20:21 >> Yeah, it's
20:21 >> there's downtown LA.
20:24 >> Where?
20:25 >> Very first Academy Awards were in here.
20:27 >> So haunting.
20:33 >> Do you happen to know what year it would
20:33 have been? I don't want to give you like
20:34 a trivia contest or anything. 297.
20:43 >> Okay. The hotel opened in 27. This
20:43 extension opened in 29. And that's when
20:45 the first Academy Awards.
21:06 >> Oh my gosh, the lights flickering.
21:11 I'm getting some serious Tower Terror
21:11 vibes.
21:20 >> The lights have to They had to warm up
21:20 the lights to turn them on.
21:36 >> Pretty cool.
21:36 >> That's what I was thinking of. There's a
21:37 Yeah, there's a picture of Stallone
21:39 sitting next to the chap
21:41 >> cuz he used to be by the valet area.
21:44 >> Hey,
21:44 >> so that's the back the balcony of
21:46 Marilyn's room right there overlooking
21:48 the pool. There's a lot of people in the
21:50 pool, so I don't know how much we're
21:51 going to be able to show, but
21:54 we should get these two images
21:57 and check it out real quick.
22:01 >> So, this is the staircase you would
22:02 always walk down.
22:04 That's
22:05 >> Oh, that's the sweets right there.
22:08 >> I guess that's what I'm trying to see if
22:09 I can zoom in.
22:11 >> There you go.
22:14 >> Tell you what, I'll be your A and D.
22:16 >> All right. [laughter]
22:22 Check her out.
22:22 Had a little makeover since 1949 or
22:25 whatever.
22:26 >> And you could rent this out also, right?
22:30 >> Oh my gosh,
22:33 look at her. This is probably a little
22:35 less than the uh the one up top
22:38 >> cuz it's a little smaller.
22:39 >> Oh, love the hat.
22:40 >> It's a lot smaller.
22:43 >> I would love that.
22:44 >> So, it been remodeled since Marilyn
22:46 stayed here.
22:48 >> I asked one of the maintenance guys and
22:50 he thought the floors were original. He
22:51 said, it's hard to say. The layout is
22:54 the same.
22:55 >> So, this is where the bed always was.
22:57 >> Yeah, I think so.
22:58 >> I would imagine cuz it kind of opened
23:00 the steps. I don't know what else you
23:01 could do with it. table.
23:02 >> That's her on the bed.
23:05 >> Oh, it sure is. That is a picture of her
23:07 on the bed.
23:08 >> If you want to, you can do this
23:10 out of your bed. But let's see.
23:17 >> Oh, look. It's It's a double.
23:17 >> British artist who did this.
23:18 >> It's a double.
23:20 >> Yeah, this is nice. Two sliding glass
23:22 doors. Be cool to rent this. Stay here.
23:25 I'll do um cuz like if you guys are
23:28 walking around like you're doing YouTube
23:30 stuff
23:31 >> definitely.
23:32 >> So if Yeah, for sure. I'll check in. Uh
23:34 I'm I'll probably knowing me I'm pretty
23:36 pretty verbose. So I'll probably be
23:37 like, "Hey, it's Bman from the
23:38 Roosevelt."
23:40 >> Awesome.
23:40 >> I'll look for the comment tomorrow.
23:41 >> Yeah. Yeah, I'll check in with you guys.
23:43 >> This video will be up tomorrow. I always
23:45 film one day and I upload the next.
23:46 Damn.
23:47 >> So I'm I'm always in real time.
23:48 >> So you do you you definitely have a
23:50 laptop in your hotel room.
23:52 >> I I edit all on my phone.
23:54 >> Yeah. Yeah. It is edit and upload on my
23:56 phone.
23:56 >> So you So what do you do up? You can
23:58 send this to a cloud. Tell me if you
24:00 think that mirror is in here. It's
24:01 possible.
24:02 >> It's not impossible
24:03 >> because of the roof height.
24:04 >> Yeah. And it's a little bit hard to
24:06 judge because of the dark paint on it.
24:07 >> I mean, I can't even touch the roof.
24:09 >> Okay. So there you go. So it's
24:11 >> And I'm 6'3. So
24:12 >> yeah, you're taller than I am. So it's
24:14 probably 8 ft. Is that fair to say? I'm
24:16 6'.
24:16 >> Probably eight. Yeah.
24:17 >> Regular length arms.
24:19 >> Unfortunately, I don't have basketball
24:20 length arm.
24:22 >> That's probably 8 foot, right? Is this a
24:23 mirror above the bed?
24:24 >> Yeah, that black mirror.
24:25 >> Oh man.
24:27 >> Netflix,
24:27 >> that's kinky.
24:29 >> Do they sell this hat here?
24:31 >> Okay, cool.
24:40 >> Photographer got a ton of stuff in the
24:40 beginning, but he did those little blue
24:42 swirls on the bottom.
24:43 >> That's like 87 or something.
24:48 >> They have to drain it every so often.
24:49 >> She first moved to LA. She lived in this
24:51 room for two years.
24:54 So she wasn't just, you know, casually
24:56 staying there for a weekend.
24:58 >> She lived there and lived
25:01 >> in that room for two years.
25:03 Still lived there for two years.
25:06 >> Speaking of silent film stars.
25:08 >> There he is.
25:08 >> Yeah. I believe there's a famous photo
25:11 of Stallone sitting right next to him
25:13 back when he was in the valet area.
25:15 Also, shout out to Rocco.
25:17 >> He was like the best bellman ever.
25:19 >> Ever. Ever. That was so nice, man. If he
25:22 wasn't as busy, he would have showed us
25:24 more stuff, but maybe we'll come back
25:25 another time. I love the vibes of this
25:27 lobby. So, the bellhop was telling us
25:30 that this was the original check-in area
25:33 was up here, and then the new staircase
25:35 that's down towards the bottom of it was
25:36 about 30 years ago, but this uh
25:39 staircase right here was the original
25:42 staircase. And this mirror up there,
25:44 what was he saying? This was originally
25:46 in Maryland's room.
25:47 >> Yeah, originally in Maryland's room.
25:49 >> Yeah. And also Shirley Temple practiced
25:51 a dance routine on these stairs right
25:54 here many many times which is kind of
25:56 cool because those those ceilings were
25:58 8t tall and that's like a plus it's a
26:01 little bit off the ground so if it was
26:02 lower down touching the ground that
26:04 could be the mirror right there and it
26:06 said that you can look in it sometimes
26:07 you can see Marilyn's ghost. Is that
26:09 what they say?
26:09 >> Marilyn's face.
26:10 >> Marilyn are you in there? What do you
26:12 have to say to get her to to summon her
26:14 ghost?
26:15 >> Marilyn. Marilyn on the wall. Also a
26:17 weird setup how these stairs go up and
26:20 then they go down again onto this little
26:23 level down.
26:25 That is definitely
26:27 >> very interesting. This is getting some
26:29 like Hollywood tower vibes in here as
26:32 well. Right.
26:34 Definitely. Yeah. We were just up on the
26:36 roof right up there. That was You just
26:37 never know how a day is going to. You
26:39 just go out and do stuff for the day and
26:42 things just happen at the church here
26:44 that was used as the enchantment under
26:45 the sea dance around the back.
26:49 See if it's open. Probably isn't, but
26:50 most time it's not. Never know.
26:53 Hitchcock would be proud. This thing
26:55 just startled the crap out of you.
26:58 It's
27:01 >> I've been in this back little gem area
27:03 back here where the enchantment of the
27:04 sea dance has taken place. Maybe four
27:07 times. Maybe three or four times.
27:11 I don't think they're going to let us
27:12 in, though.
27:15 >> It's been a day. We are now inside
27:19 the enchantment of the sea dance.
27:31 Oh my gosh. Since this the last time I
27:32 was in here years ago, they've actually
27:33 put up little photographs. This right
27:36 here blows my freaking mind. My favorite
27:38 movie of all time.
27:53 >> Are you kidding me right now?
28:03 >> Wow,
28:03 >> dude. Look at the bags up there. the
28:05 bags.
28:06 There he is.
28:08 Calvin Klein
28:10 climbing across.
28:13 >> How does he change? How does he change
28:15 his clothes so fast?
28:22 >> Dude, what's happening today, man?
28:22 >> So is the signs of
28:24 >> What's happening right now, Michael?
28:26 >> Signed by Michael. We're in the
28:27 enchantment of the sea dance.
28:28 >> Dude, look at this. Same wood floors. We
28:31 have the piano and everything. The phone
28:33 and everything.
28:35 >> Really?
28:35 >> Yeah. We move everything because we have
28:37 rehearsal and
28:40 this is the freaking spot.
28:42 >> That's the phone,
28:43 >> dude. Michael slid across here. These
28:44 are his scuff marks.
29:33 Same window there. This is
29:33 >> Dude, I was just like, you know what?
29:35 Let's go by the church. You never know.
29:36 >> You never know.
29:41 >> Are you losing your mind?
29:41 >> Yeah, I'm losing my mind. How do you
29:44 change clothes so fast, dude? This is
29:46 just
30:02 You guys are ready for that. Your kids
30:02 go up.
30:09 I think this is the fourth time. Fourth
30:09 time I've been in here. Two of the
30:11 times. Just happened to be walking by
30:14 and asked
30:20 trying to soak this in because this is
30:20 awesome. So now they do have events here
30:21 like once a year they do an event.
30:23 There's no event happening today. If the
30:26 event you'd have music playing, you have
30:27 people in the way.
30:51 That's the spot.
30:51 >> That's the spot.
30:56 >> Scram McFly.
30:56 >> Cutting in.
30:57 >> I'm cutting in.
30:59 >> Excuse me.
31:00 >> Excuse. [clears throat]
31:08 >> This is the same
31:08 the same wood floor. Look at the scuff
31:11 marks there.
31:17 We've had some good luck today, Micah.
31:18 >> That we have.
31:18 >> Since I've been here a few years ago,
31:20 they've added these.
31:21 >> That's so cool.
31:22 >> They never had those before.
31:24 >> Well, thing that always gets me, Micah,
31:25 is look up here. So, you got This is the
31:27 same area.
31:29 >> But look at the paint stains from 85
31:33 >> and it's still on the thing.
31:35 >> Wow. [sighs] There are paint stains
31:36 still on the door.
31:38 >> You walk out of there, they have the
31:39 streamers. The light still the same.
31:42 >> Core memory for me in that movie is this
31:44 room.
31:45 >> because he he comes out of this door,
31:49 >> Marty. I'll never forget your advice.
31:58 Thank you for your advice. I'll never
31:58 forget it.
32:00 This is also where they shoot part two.
32:02 >> This is something you don't really
32:03 realize. There's another staircase above
32:05 this.
32:07 >> Yeah, they came to walk down the
32:08 staircase.
32:26 Now, obviously, they've changed the
32:26 double doors to the one door cuz in the
32:28 movie it was double doors.
32:32 This is where Krisen Glover and Leah
32:33 Thompson would have been standing
32:35 looking down as he was about to walk out
32:59 all your advice. I'll
32:59 >> never forget never forget it.
33:02 >> Oh, dude, look at this. Look at this
33:05 hole in the wall right there.
33:06 >> Yeah. Boom.
33:08 >> There it is.
33:11 >> That's wild,
33:12 >> right?
33:17 >> I know it's weird, but I I kind of
33:17 imagine this is how it would feel in
33:20 >> How does that feel?
33:22 >> Did you get emotional just walking into
33:23 this room?
33:24 >> I walked in and saw this. I didn't like
33:26 I knew what you were saying, but I
33:27 didn't.
33:28 >> It hits you hard.
33:29 >> It's always different when you see it's
33:30 a familiar pl I've been in this house a
33:32 million times,
33:34 >> but I've never seen it in person. The
33:35 first time I ever came in here, like 10
33:37 years ago, I walked in and the two
33:39 ladies that were here made some calls
33:41 and they let me go in, but I was
33:42 standing here waiting for like five
33:43 minutes in this room
33:45 >> and I'm just looking around like
33:46 >> losing your mind.
33:47 >> Where am I?
33:53 >> Anyway, again, never hurts to ask.
33:53 Today's been a never hurts to ask.
33:59 >> See enough?
33:59 >> Yeah. Or
34:00 >> you want to just get a cot and sleep
34:01 here, dude.
34:02 >> All right. One last look and then we'll
34:04 take off.
34:13 Oh, this is interesting. So, here's part
34:13 two.
34:14 >> Mhm.
34:15 >> And this is seen in part two. That's
34:17 screen used also.
34:18 >> Oh, god. It is.
34:21 >> And so is the exit sign.
34:24 >> Mhm. See to the left.
34:34 Most of the stuff we're doing today
34:34 completely unplanned. I would say all of
34:37 it.
34:38 Had no agenda and we've done some
34:40 amazing things. I just love going out
34:43 and doing stuff.
34:49 >> Never gets old. Been in here a few
34:49 times. Been years since I've been in
34:51 here. This is awesome. Look where I'm
34:54 standing right now. Look at this.
34:56 Look at this.
35:06 >> My all-time favorite movie. Love it.
35:06 >> I don't know when next time or if ever
35:07 I'll get back in here. So,
35:11 >> till next time.
35:12 >> Yep.
35:14 >> It's time. It's a time travel movie.
35:20 >> Thank you again.
35:20 >> You're welcome.
35:21 >> But then it cuts to the school when he
35:23 gets
35:24 >> over to Whittier High. Yeah,
35:25 >> just like that
35:26 >> next to the McDonald's.
35:28 >> She was sweet,
35:29 >> dick.
35:31 >> Bro,
35:33 [laughter] all right, I think I'm going
35:34 to end the video here because it has
35:36 just been a whirlwind of a day and now
35:40 they have finished up whatever they had
35:41 going on at the Chinese Theater. So,
35:44 just going to wrap this one up over here
35:46 in Hollywood. But one thing I've learned
35:48 about Hollywood, when you just walk
35:51 around and start doing stuff,
35:54 at least for me, things just happen.
36:04 My Hollywood successful day streak.
36:04 Yeah, more more good things happen than
36:06 not lately when I visit LA. Thanks for
36:09 watching. I'll see you in the next
36:10 video. The vlog
36:14 is over.
