0:19 daphne
0:21 you have never been on the universal
0:23 studios vip tour

0:27 maybe seven years and to be honest i
0:29 don't remember much of
0:31 any of it i remember the little little
0:33 bits and pieces but this is going to
0:34 almost be
0:35 a new experience for me as well
0:37 we're going to be going to the lower lot
0:39 to the back lot we're going to be i
0:42 don't call it fastpass but we're gonna
0:43 be
0:44 well you're vip you get locked on
0:45 everything you get the vip treatment the
0:48 very important persons
0:50 for sins her sins today the plural
0:54 it's exciting it's so exciting 11 30 is
0:57 our reservation
0:58 they say to get to the room you are when
1:00 you go in you scan in you show them the
1:02 ticket that i purchased online
1:05 a half hour before and they'll probably
1:06 have some snacks hopefully some coffee
1:09 yeah i know usually it's a breakfast
1:11 thing but 11 30 a.m maybe it's a lunch
1:14 type deal hey i think you get breakfast
1:16 and lunch oh two meals two meals
1:19 yes
1:20 all right join me and daphne universal
1:24 on a monday shall you and i'm going to
1:27 do my best to kind of give the full
1:29 experience i don't know if i'll do any
1:31 filming on the rides and whatnot but
1:33 definitely
1:35 on the lower lot backstage etc
1:38 starting off by going down this
1:39 escalator
1:41 and just explain what all you get for
1:43 the price point and i'm noticing the
1:45 globe is still not turning i was here a
1:47 few days ago the globe was not turning
1:49 it's still not trimming however they
1:50 have rolled out the red carpet not just
1:52 no no it's not just for vip buffer
1:54 anyone they have rolled out the red
1:56 carpet and there is the famous archway
1:58 now to get in the vip area you go around
2:00 the side of the ticket booth here not
2:02 into the normal lines but next to guest
2:04 services there is a door over there with
2:07 another red carpet and going into the
2:09 check-in area there's doc brown and
2:11 marty there there's the meccas and bob
2:12 gale up there and look at this is a
2:14 production member right there it is vip
2:16 it's been checked in and going to this
2:19 little area here with a like nice couch
2:21 i really like this too universal is his
2:23 own city here in california right here
2:25 at the red carpet entrance okay we have
2:27 the proper credentials little cheers
2:30 there and also the they gave us some
2:32 ponchos oh yeah for jurassic world
2:34 jurassic
2:35 and they said even if we're not with our
2:37 guide this gives us front of the front
2:38 of the line as well yeah
2:40 and now gotta head up these stairs but
2:42 first take a look at this universal
2:44 moving pictures where moving pictures
2:47 are made this train here
2:49 and you go up the stairs
2:51 it has all these classic bud albert
2:54 costello the andrews sisters
2:57 going up and they said there's a light
2:58 breakfast up here
3:00 so we're going to have a little light
3:01 breakfast we are about 45 minutes early
3:04 before
3:05 our tour but we're just gonna
3:07 hang around up here until
3:09 there's ron howard all right this is
3:11 cool
3:12 hitchcock would be
3:14 ground some complimentary h2o waters out
3:17 there lots of movie props
3:19 and you can step out onto the balcony
3:22 through these doors by going through
3:23 these doors you can look out a little
3:25 veranda down there that has a little
3:27 sculpture with the guy with the
3:29 cameraman and the director and all that
3:31 kind of a nice little view of the
3:32 entrance and inside the restroom they
3:34 have these napkins probably have these
3:36 at the breakfast party probably this is
3:38 a breakfast bar too
3:39 vip napkins
3:41 very important got some e.t stuff here
3:49 there's the original script and just to
3:49 look get a little look at the full
3:50 spread right here also hitchcock
3:53 would be oh my gosh egg and cheese
3:56 croissant black forest ham and cheese
3:58 cheddar smoked salmon
4:01 caprice
4:03 tartlet over there
4:05 all kind of croissants
4:08 all these you have a little
4:09 fill up your belly before the tour
4:11 begins
4:12 also some yogurt over here i'm gonna
4:15 need to get some coffee which looks like
4:16 there's coffee over here on this end
4:18 then also cranberry juice grapefruit
4:20 juice
4:21 orange juice
4:22 over here you got all your sugar and
4:24 creams
4:25 and whatnot
4:27 wow he is young there
4:29 okay i went with the tartlet
4:31 hard-boiled egg and the egg and cheese
4:34 croissant what'd you get i just got a
4:36 croissant to start with just a regular
4:38 croissant to start off with i just
4:40 talked to the guide we're going to do
4:41 theme park rides first and then lunch at
4:43 2 30 and then after that go to the back
4:45 lot so we're going to it depends on
4:46 whatever time frame you get sometimes
4:47 you go to the back lot first our group
4:49 is going to be all the theme park rides
4:51 first then after that down to the back
4:52 lot official vips very important persons
4:56 or people
4:57 what are those two things yeah and first
5:00 area going into harry potter now you
5:03 obviously get in front of the line so
5:05 we're getting in this little sideline
5:07 here
5:08 get your hands
5:17 ah that is fun and really nice with no
5:20 weight at all just like a quick little
5:22 walk-on
5:23 late and it looks as if the guide does
5:25 not ride the attractions with you this
5:26 is our guide jermaine
5:29 i think if you're i've never done the
5:30 disney plaid but i think the flag's
5:32 right with you what we can do is go
5:34 inside and still walk around the castle
5:36 because there it still is people there's
5:38 still people in there waiting for it to
5:39 go back up so we can either come back to
5:42 it later or go in now and kind of see
5:44 how it's located what i'm suggesting is
5:47 we go in now just to see what's
5:48 happening this is definitely a different
5:50 entrance to the way we went in the other
5:51 day this is like we went down we saw
5:53 some of these photos we weren't in this
5:54 room are we okay heading back out ride
5:57 is down again so we're moving on to
5:58 something take a look at this i've never
6:00 seen this back to the future mural
6:01 before doc brown marty mcfly the
6:03 delorean okay being escorted down to the
6:05 lower lot now into the lower lot of
6:07 traction
6:09 we're gonna go on transformers first you
6:10 say and then probably the mummy after
6:12 after transformers um
6:24 and entering through this entrance here
6:24 putting your 3d glasses on
6:27 it's about to go down
6:49 and pretty much our group is about less
6:49 than a dozen people i would say maybe 10
6:50 people 10 or 12 people top oh there's
6:53 some uh there's some skeletons right
6:57 and what are we in hhn right now
7:14 next up jurassic world
7:14 we're completely set now with our
7:16 ponchos on
7:17 we are ready to go
7:19 i feel like i'm still gonna get drenched
7:21 even with this one
7:27 oh hello there hello there dinosaur does
7:27 not seem too happy does
7:43 and the poncho has been disposed of they
7:43 came in handy they came in really handy
7:45 and now onto secret life of pets gonna
7:47 be going into one of these pizza boxes
7:49 here this dog is running some heavy
7:51 machinery and there's a hot dog stand
7:53 called wiener kingdom and now into
7:56 minions
7:58 all right put the camera away and enjoy
8:01 the ride those doors are about to shine
8:03 and now going to be seated for water
8:05 world that's the water world sign i'm
8:07 going to do some hhn construction behind
8:08 this wall and i'd like to have the
8:10 misters i can hurry to the crowd in
8:11 there screaming a lot of males a lot of
8:14 this that was like fog is it already
8:16 horror nights
8:31 and now making my way back out of the
8:31 water world stadium see what's next i
8:33 have no i have no idea what's on the
8:34 agenda neck gotta find the guide find
8:36 out what we're doing
8:37 thank
8:38 you there's the actors there
8:52 we are now heading back over to
8:52 forbidden journey it's backup dragon a
8:54 dragon i swear i'm about to see
8:58 a dragon yep right here
9:01 oh
9:06 i love that
9:06 made it over to the mulan rouge is the
9:08 name of it go over to the moulin rouge
9:10 where they will be serving the
9:12 lunch special of the day and we have
9:15 opted to sit outside
9:17 and once you're outside you get the
9:18 plates here the vip plates
9:21 with our compliments
9:23 both of these and this is unlimited
9:25 amount of food and it's right here next
9:27 to an 80-foot drop do not climb
9:30 and that's looking over burbank down
9:32 there and the golf course and all that
9:34 yeah there really is quite the spread
9:35 just kind of showing all the vast array
9:37 of all the the items that are all
9:39 through here everything from salads meat
9:42 cheeses hummus little snack crackers
9:45 things like that going all the way down
9:47 pasta pizza just a whole wide variety to
9:50 have someone kind of cutting some meat
9:52 up here we get some tri-tip with a
9:54 little horseradish sauce as well as some
9:56 water with a lot of fruit in it and some
9:58 pink lemonade and then canned soda
10:00 coca-cola products things like that and
10:02 a picture of alfred hitchcock up here
10:04 hitchcock just everywhere i went with
10:06 some mac and cheese some asparagus
10:09 spears here that's that there's that
10:11 hummus there's the
10:12 the horseradish sauce there the pasta
10:15 down in here some good shrimp some
10:17 potatoes i'm gonna go back for seconds
10:19 because this is this is unlimited
10:22 i am definitely enjoying this experience
10:24 the only thing i would probably change
10:26 about it is i would prefer not to really
10:29 go on any rides and just do all back lot
10:33 but that's not part of the deal it's
10:34 like three quarters in the park and a
10:36 quarter of the time besides eating on
10:39 the back if it was for me
10:41 you know loving the movie history and
10:42 all that i would want eight full hours
10:45 not even eating you want to be on the
10:47 back lot looking at history but that's
10:48 just me not everyone not everyone
10:51 thinks that way
10:52 for example if they had one of these
10:54 experiences that you could customize
10:57 i would pay for that 100 me i paid for
10:58 this too but if they had one
11:01 that you could just say you know what
11:02 i'm an annual pass holder i'm here a lot
11:04 i really want to go on the rides can i
11:06 just double down
11:07 on the history of the back back lot
11:10 sign me up for that that would be that
11:11 would be the only thing i would i would
11:14 say that i would that i would prefer
11:17 what'd you end up getting
11:20 um
11:21 chicken tender mac and cheese mashed
11:23 potatoes and i think the
11:26 tenderloin there's so much to choose
11:28 from it's like i think i have to go back
11:29 for some seconds okay i went for seconds
11:31 i know i'm eating more than normal but
11:33 you know what this is i will say it's a
11:35 win in rome moment it's a win at
11:36 universal vip moment
11:39 when what
11:40 when
11:42 rouge moment i like that you got seconds
11:44 too we've got something there's just
11:45 really so much meat and potatoes that's
11:48 so good that's all right you're
11:49 polishing it off with a little
11:50 strawberry there true we also have this
11:52 here oh my gosh this is my favorite like
11:55 non-alcoholic drinks so good especially
11:57 the blood orange
11:59 nice
12:00 and i went with some broccoli broccoli
12:02 this cauliflower i always confuse it
12:03 cauliflower i also went with some curry
12:05 chicken and rice
12:07 i saw your mashed potatoes and i decided
12:09 to get some mashed potatoes and a piece
12:11 of chicken some veggies
12:13 and more of this pasta which i really
12:14 like and i think lucy's
12:16 look is is in here now yeah i can see
12:19 lucille ball you see her yeah is she
12:21 walking this way yeah
12:47 a natural blonde and a natural redness
12:47 together at the same time it's not
12:49 wonderful listen
13:06 i think so absolutely all right i'll
13:06 keep scouting around and you're gonna be
13:07 here for a while i'll send them over
13:09 thank you so much blessings thank you
13:13 you had a wonderful lunch and you thank
13:15 you okay had to get dessert
13:17 this is cheese this is cheesecake right
13:19 here a cookie another coca-cola as well
13:23 still had to okay it's now 3 40 p.m and
13:27 just now finally getting onto the back
13:29 lot which i'm very excited about giving
13:31 a time frame because i'm curious to see
13:32 how long i'll be back therefore and not
13:34 taking the regular tram i'm going to be
13:36 taking the trolley that's up these
13:39 stairs
13:40 right up here all right this is the bus
13:43 right here
13:44 this came on to us knows who i am i'm
13:46 tim hi it looks like our tour is meeting
13:49 up with another chore that's getting on
13:52 the same page for your vip movie studio
13:55 experience
13:56 but these pieces belong to some of the
13:58 biggest stars in hollywood people like
13:59 doris dave always wanted to be able to
14:01 go down into antelope these were
14:03 dressing rooms it's very difficult to
14:05 get in there right down that hill
14:07 i want to go into emblem one day so
14:09 they're not off the spaces
14:11 now very famous officer left-hand side
14:13 number 5195 you see the famous
14:15 silhouette of the former occupant alfred
14:17 kitchen there's a post-production office
14:19 attached to it so that way you could
14:21 film inside the soundstage walk it
14:22 across the way and begin editing it
14:24 practically immediately
14:25 now the first thing that filmed in there
14:27 was actually hairspray live back uh 2016
14:30 the patty vallio at the time they were
14:32 inside the permits or the courtney
14:34 collins show that was all done in there
14:36 and then during the commercial breaks
14:37 they would run outside get into the golf
14:38 carts and drive out here to our
14:40 metropolitan sets for the outdoors texas
14:42 driving over and getting out and walking
14:45 around this area once we do you can
14:47 leave your bags on board we just do ass
14:49 set it beneath your seat all right don't
14:51 leave it on your seat because it's going
14:52 to probably slide out we don't want to
14:54 lose anything out there if you want to
14:56 grab a bottle of water we'll open this
14:58 thing up and feel free and grab it and
14:59 when we do exit watch this
15:17 i haven't been back here in so long i
15:17 remember when the artist was painting
15:19 this over here
15:21 and of course a lot of this lot has been
15:22 closed for a long time
15:24 it's
15:32 oh it's leaving
15:32 i would be perfectly content if that
15:34 thing just left and i could stay back
15:36 here all day
15:39 from the original post along to the
15:40 metropolitan sense everyone as you can
15:42 see we have new york right here a little
15:44 bit different than the real new york two
15:46 years in new york city i've never been
15:48 what's the biggest difference that you
15:49 can see on our street than the real new
15:51 york people no car people yeah no cars
15:53 no people right that's one of the main
15:55 reasons why you want to film here rather
15:57 than the real city i don't know if
15:58 they're going to let us go over there
16:00 but back to the future hill valley is
16:02 just around this corner i gotta check
16:05 this out doc yeah it's like right around
16:07 here i don't know if they're gonna let
16:08 me go back there i really hope they're
16:09 gonna take us back there because that's
16:11 like
16:12 oh yeah and you can see this is two
16:13 combined groups on that one
16:16 that one tram
16:17 and there's another opening over here
16:19 that i really want to walk through i
16:21 just i'm kind of wondering if they're
16:23 even going to let us back here but right
16:24 over there is the town square
16:27 see right over there the skateboard
16:29 chase the manure
16:31 oh i even i think maybe the lion estate
16:33 signs used to be over there too for a
16:34 while and there was a big fire out here
16:36 so lou's
16:37 which was on that very corner down there
16:39 on the left
16:41 has burned down and fun fact the alley
16:46 that old biff is hiding in and back to
16:48 future part two used to be right here
16:50 and there was a window with a shop that
16:52 had a roger rabbit and the almanac and
16:54 all that in that used to be right here
16:56 that same alley indoor was on the very
16:59 first episode of the twilight zone where
17:01 there was no one left
17:03 no one left with the one guy
17:05 and it was full of mannequins watch both
17:07 watch back to the future in the first
17:09 twilight zone the same alley that old
17:11 biff comes out of was used in the first
17:13 twilight zone episode fun fact i noticed
17:15 that because i recently watched that
17:17 first first episode okay i just asked
17:19 the guy he said i can't walk all the way
17:20 over there but i can go over here and
17:22 just get a glimpse
17:24 right here mr sandman
17:26 right over here this is also where jaws
17:28 came out shark still looks fake and the
17:30 sequel lose over here
17:33 so awesome the manure truck
17:36 biff hates manure and then of course 88
17:39 miles an hour here the climax lightning
17:41 bolt strikes
17:43 we're not allowed back there though so
17:45 thankfully the guy let me just go over
17:46 and get a peek that's disappointing but
17:48 yeah it is what it
18:01 that is up the land he runs outside in
18:01 1940s you are for this rjc car
18:10 now the lab was a set constructed inside
18:10 of a studio in the uk
18:17 i think and then they canceled it and
18:17 then nbc's like we want to finish this
18:18 out so that's what they did i want to
18:20 point out this
18:22 i don't know what the trust is for it
18:24 just went up today
18:26 but
18:41 this is also in one of my favorite
18:41 christmas movies home alone to los
18:44 angeles
18:49 when kevin's in new york he has one
18:49 member of his family that he knows lives
18:51 there his uncle his uncle and these
18:53 browns are departments you see the
18:55 construction tube going up to the roof
18:57 he ends up throwing the bricks down and
18:58 joe
18:59 yeah that's him coming out here coats
19:01 it's supposed to be all cold it was like
19:03 85 degrees out he's sweating bullets
19:05 right
19:06 gives him his grumpy attitude and i'm
19:08 just going to peek around here
19:10 the delorean does that climactic scene
19:18 driving in
19:18 ah
19:19 marty a dock over there
19:22 once the delorean hits
19:24 the lightning strike goes down
19:26 everything will be fine
19:31 man that's cool i think it's weird as
19:31 they built this building here so you
19:32 never get that view of the mountains
19:34 with griffith park anymore
19:36 those days are over
19:47 thanks tim for showing us that uh around
19:47 still street i saw a lot of you taking
19:49 pictures in front of the steps in front
19:51 of the door uh some of you were doing
19:53 some pretty cool poses and trial i did
19:56 like a different time period which we
19:57 will do uh sometimes to make it look
19:59 like the 70s just add vintage cars from
20:02 that time period and just like that
20:04 whatever that frame when we're looking
20:06 through that camera lens we like to
20:07 manipulate that frame to make you think
20:09 where we are we want to control what you
20:11 see and what you hear in productions all
20:13 these lights on us any vehicle on screen
20:16 we call that a picture card called the
20:18 left-hand buttons inside they're coming
20:19 up
20:20 we have famous picture cards this year
20:28 now some of these are just shelves not
20:28 real cars but we do have the real car
20:31 that is used as the hero car and that's
20:33 what we use that for the close-ups but
20:35 for example the top select ferrari
20:37 that's actually just a shell with a
20:39 volkswagen added glass that's cgi from a
20:42 computer generated
20:44 take a close look at the tank there that
20:46 is not a real tank you don't want to
20:47 take that into battle uh that's made
20:50 mostly
20:51 plywood vehicles before easily replaced
21:01 now if you look at the left here this
21:01 mobile ad unit
21:02 is not made of metal either it's made
21:04 mostly out of plywood you can see the uh
21:07 wood being selected there on the side uh
21:09 but we add metal sound effects to make
21:11 you think of sticky today but that might
21:13 change it a bit
21:15 okay so everybody here
21:17 thank you
21:18 two things when i see this i think of a
21:20 lot lynch lives
21:23 when the guy's running away from the
21:24 bible theme park
21:25 and the noah's ark flooding happens
21:28 and then also a lady gaga video where
21:31 she's standing right over there by that
21:32 cart
21:33 on that hill
21:41 you get a lot of rain
21:41 brace yourself
22:00 you can't outrun the wolfie
22:00 and uh we're gonna cross the border from
22:02 old mexico and the old west this is
22:05 where we filmed many of our western
22:07 europe
22:09 and this is where we filmed a lot of our
22:12 monster fields too we'll talk about
22:13 those i was crossing my fingers that we
22:15 would stop back
22:17 at the area where they did once upon a
22:18 time in hollywood the western sets
22:21 no such luck
22:23 only a couple you only get to stop at a
22:24 couple spots i'm guessing we already
22:25 stopped at one and probably a little
22:26 italy here and probably up where the
22:28 monster movies are made the court of
22:30 miracles they called it so a couple a
22:32 few other places i really wish i could
22:34 have gone to but just luck of the draw
22:37 now from what i remember from the
22:38 regular tram tour court of miracles on
22:40 the other side of these buildings
22:54 the satellite dishes over there this is
22:54 where the parting of the red sea
22:56 used to be if you did the tram tour a
22:58 long time ago years ago five ten years
22:59 ago you go through like the red sea over
23:01 here the water's still there
23:04 and you'd have the parting of all that
23:05 that has since been removed
23:08 we convince you we're in a different
23:10 location so flags we'll add different
23:12 flags to the sets we'll change the
23:14 languages on the signs so this was seen
23:16 as germany
23:17 spain
23:18 uh in fact uh a really important year
23:20 for us universal was 1930
23:23 that year was our first year winning our
23:25 academy award for best picture uh for
23:28 all quiet on the western front and so in
23:30 that movie it was how many here saw the
23:32 show the good place we talked about it
23:35 before okay okay so it's a it's a great
23:38 show it's on it was on nbc for four
23:40 seasons it was created by michael shurer
23:43 who brought you shows like brooklyn
23:44 nine-nine the office parks and rec he
23:46 was the writer in the office and if you
23:48 don't know what he looks like i'm going
23:49 to give you a visual if you've seen the
23:51 office uh michael's sure he's the
23:54 one that played dwight's cousin mode
23:56 look at how running down
23:58 this over here is she ends up in the
24:00 good place wow
24:02 well
24:15 just saying that the running of the bull
24:15 sequence and city slickers was through
24:17 here as well
24:21 the roads were barricaded and they just
24:22 ran in one direction uh
24:24 one other running of the whole scene we
24:25 did was for night and day with tom
24:27 cruise
24:29 they had real bulls running through here
24:32 billy crystal daniel stern
24:34 we did a running sequence for
24:41 also a scene from one of the pirates of
24:41 caribbean movies was in here he's
24:42 explaining
24:43 johnny depp was hiding over in a little
24:46 alcove
24:47 courtyard right up here
24:54 so when then once the coast is clear he
24:54 goes from the alcove into that door uh
24:56 to meet orlando bloom's character for
24:58 the sword fights uh however if you open
25:01 that door you'll notice that there is
25:03 not much interior enough to film in
25:05 elaborate sport fights especially when
25:07 you need more space and room behind the
25:09 actors for the camera and crew and the
25:10 equipment so instead they filmed the
25:12 sword fight scene in a
25:15 soundstage sound stage good
25:17 very good yeah surely right here right
25:19 here's the court where
25:20 where the court of miracles used to be
25:22 there was a fire here too
25:24 but it was right in here so many classic
25:26 universal monster movies right here
25:28 the freaking court of miracles right
25:38 this is so historic for horror fans
25:38 hunchback
25:40 so lon chaney was really talented
25:42 because he stood out from a lot of other
25:44 silent films doing his own makeup that
25:46 was way before we had makeup artists
25:49 and he was so secretive of his makeup
25:51 skills that he wouldn't even hear his
25:53 songs
26:08 this is so dang cool
26:08 universal monster movie
26:10 mecca
26:18 so cool again
26:18 i believe there was a fire and this
26:19 might not be original could have been
26:23 i i don't know i don't know if 100
26:26 either way this is where the court of
26:28 miracles was just picture frankenstein
26:30 wolf man the mummy the invisible man all
26:33 right in here
26:46 no
26:46 the water being broke
27:09 millions of dollars over budget the crew
27:09 started to call moving flaws afterwards
27:11 we're going on national television
27:12 giving interviews saying i'm working on
27:13 this jaws movie for universal it's
27:15 horrible don't go see it i'm not going
27:16 to tell you who that was for
27:18 but here's the thing every day he would
27:20 turn over his footage to his editor for
27:22 another field she said no no you've got
27:24 something here you can't use a shark
27:26 that's fine get the illusion of the
27:27 shark like a fin cutting through the
27:29 water or the barrels being pulled under
27:30 or if you felt from the shark's
27:32 perspective going at the people it's
27:33 about to eat
27:34 she ended up winning an academy award
27:36 for editing jobs and because it took so
27:38 long to make they missed their original
27:40 release date of christmas day of 1974
27:42 they put you to the following summer it
27:44 was a perfect summer birds again the
27:45 biggest movie of all time only to be
27:47 outseeded by two years later his best
27:49 friend george lucas we actually get the
27:51 chance to pull down one of the most
27:52 famous streets of all town this is
27:55 colonial street better known as wisteria
27:57 lake or maybe this is desperate
27:59 yes now recently their desperate
28:02 household excuse me did film here during
28:04 their entire eight season run and they
28:05 had pretty much the most street lockdown
28:07 during that period of time
28:12 did any walking dead film here no most
28:12 people built in georgia
28:14 that's another great example a lot of
28:17 over the period of time a lot of filming
28:19 has left los angeles have gone to
28:21 different areas but guess what it's all
28:22 coming back so we're experiencing one of
28:24 the busiest times right now
28:26 now
28:27 these houses did long before desperate
28:30 housewives right this was also seen in
28:32 the 1980s movie the burbs but tom hanks
28:35 harry fisher in the 90s things like deep
28:37 impact small soldiers filmed up here
28:40 even this uh grey house once we come
28:41 around the corner it'll be on your right
28:43 hand side this was used in a 1950s movie
28:45 called bedtime for bonzo starring a
28:47 chimpanzee named bonzo and warner
28:49 brothers contract player ronald reagan
28:52 yeah he filmed the movie to the
28:54 right-hand side now take a look
28:56 this is just a shell four walls and a
28:58 roof really it's three walls of the roof
29:00 because you see the tree growing in the
29:01 backyard it's not growing in the
29:03 backyard it's growing out of the house
29:04 it's an endangered species we just built
29:06 the house around it
29:07 the yellow house is seen as davey's
29:09 house and never have i ever that's also
29:10 where the hardy boys live
29:13 and the lilac house on the right hand
29:14 side is the original monster home of the
29:16 tv show the monsters 1313 mockingbird
29:20 jimmy stewart filmed the movie harvey
29:21 with his invisible bunny friend under
29:22 the house on the right-hand side
29:25 why him with ryan grantham james franco
29:27 filmed out here this was a uh michigan
29:29 suburb in the snow or kiss landed a
29:32 helicopter down the middle of the street
29:34 and kids you'll love this one the dark
29:35 green house the left-hand side that's
29:37 where matlock lived all right
29:54 okay that's horrible okay that's
29:54 horrible
29:56 he's just helping that young lady to her
29:58 trunk okay um
30:00 norman
30:01 hi
30:03 what are you doing
30:04 no we've been parked here
30:18 they put a fence up here i think this
30:20 fist might be left over from hhn
30:27 i know the big wrecked airplane behind
30:27 me is awesome
30:28 but i'm more fascinated by this
30:46 beautiful
30:46 mother
30:55 it is neat to walk this is really neat
30:55 to be able to walk through this and
30:57 there's a regular tram coming through so
30:59 they have activated some of the smoke
31:01 effects
31:02 through here
31:05 pretty cool
31:11 wow
31:11 this is a real
31:12 airplane that they transported
31:14 over here for the set it was used in the
31:16 movie
31:40 decoration just like any other set
31:40 decorating section
31:42 that makes you think something happens
31:57 look at this there's like a hopscotch
31:58 set up here
32:10 hitchcock quarter history right there
32:10 and a wrecked airplane right there look
32:12 at that
32:43 and guys one of the most recent
32:44 productions we're going to use this
32:45 board is a movie called you're not
32:47 proposing are you starring tim jenkins
32:50 oh this is neat
32:51 this was the great outdoors house they
32:53 moved it over here
32:54 this used to be on the other over by
32:56 where the blue wall was
32:58 so this was used for a couple scenes
32:59 they had a real cabin elsewhere but they
33:02 also had another cabin
33:03 that they used for the great outdoors
33:06 john candy movie
33:08 used to be part of the jurassic park two
33:11 set
33:12 used to be back in here by this
33:14 by this area used to be right over here
33:16 they cleaned it up now and have like a
33:18 little park
33:20 it's pretty neat
33:21 yeah think about this right here
33:23 great outdoors
33:25 it's pretty awesome
33:34 nothing we can really talk about now
33:34 it's a bit of a mystery to us to tonight
33:36 but right beyond that construction you
33:39 see that large blue backdrop uh that's
33:41 one of the largest standing uh backdrops
33:44 we use this to add backgrounds with cgi
33:47 effects valley again we have water
33:49 brothers studios out there disney uh
33:52 which is also uh abc studios which is
33:54 owned by disney as well uh that mountain
33:56 that's mount lee that's where the
33:58 hollywood sign is right behind the
33:59 scenes
34:01 all right now getting off of the backlot
34:03 section at 5 15. oh they're putting this
34:05 down
34:06 put the window down 5 15.
34:09 you're keeping track
34:18 and the sun is just about to set at 6 53
34:18 park closes at seven
34:20 tonight
34:21 here on this monday
34:23 which probably correlates to how the
34:25 price was
34:32 as i stated earlier each of the vip
34:32 tours are different prices each day
34:33 today's was 359 dollars a person
34:38 as an annual pass holder
34:40 you have to really want to do it but i
34:42 think as
34:44 a non-annual pass holder i looked up the
34:47 tickets for front of the line and a day
34:49 ticket 209
34:51 so if you add on another 150
34:54 you get
34:55 the vip access you get to get out of the
34:58 tram walk around for a little bit on the
34:59 back lot and you get two meals
35:03 of really good food
35:04 and that's gonna do it for today the
35:06 temperature is dropped
35:08 what did you think what did you think
35:09 about your first vip experience at
35:10 universal hollywood i think it was worth
35:12 it i think it's really worth it i liked
35:14 it yeah i thought it was so cool got to
35:17 do every ride
35:19 and then anything we did not get with
35:21 our guide left us at simpson's we were
35:23 able to go
35:24 back on pets for a second time and the
35:26 food was great and we got to meet
35:28 lucille ball yeah that was pretty cool
35:30 which was great i was kind of hoping to
35:31 meet doc brown but he wasn't around
35:33 there i might do it again one day i
35:34 don't know when
35:35 but one day yeah
35:37 see the next video
35:39 the vlog
35:43 and i like at the top of griffith park
35:43 over there
35:44 backside of the hollywood sign the
35:47 wisdom tree still stands
35:56 and i'm also crossing my fingers for my
35:56 next vip tour whenever that is
35:59 i want to get up close to the clock
36:01 tower
36:03 that's why it was closed off doc's back
36:05 there
36:07 saving marty
36:09 at least in my mind he is
