0:03 Today's adventure begins as the
0:03 recording of this Wednesday, July 2nd,
0:07 2025, looking off the balcony of my
0:10 hotel here in Paris, France.
0:13 And yesterday, the heat wave was so
0:15 intense that the Eiffel Tower was
0:18 closed. But at this moment, I could see
0:23 there are people up there
0:30 on that second balcony.
0:30 So, who knows? Maybe I'll get on the
0:32 Eiffel Tower today. Yesterday did not
0:34 work out, but today is a new day.
0:40 Welcome everyone. Adam the Woo here. Can
0:42 you see the reflection?
0:44 Eiffel Tower's right there.
0:48 Today is the 13th. 13 years ago to the
0:52 day I started this channel, my second
0:55 channel, my daily vlog channel, The
0:58 Daily Woo, which is the intro I used to
1:00 do because I had an original channel,
1:02 the Adam the Woo channel, about 2 years
1:05 after that, 13 years ago on this day.
1:07 Started this channel kind of on a whim.
1:10 Didn't really have a plan. All I knew is
1:11 I wanted to film something every day. It
1:14 has morphed into what it is and it's the
1:17 one I focus on the most. Rarely ever use
1:20 that original channel. I think years
1:23 from now I might bring something back
1:24 over to that area of the platform, but
1:27 for now still sticking here. So 13
1:30 years.
1:32 Happy birthday. H happy anniversary to
1:35 the daily. Woo. This is the channel that
1:38 I'm on right now. I'm wearing an
1:40 appropriate t-shirt cuz I am going to
1:42 visit the Mona Lisa today. She probably
1:45 will not be chewing bubble gum. But I'm
1:48 heading over to the Loura or the Louv
1:51 L O U V R E Museum later if it's
1:56 possible. I got some things throughout
1:57 the course of the day, but I might try
1:58 to go up there if for some reason the
2:00 heat does not close down the tower
2:02 again. Last night did not have any AC in
2:05 the room. Everyone had their air
2:07 conditions up or down so low that none
2:11 of the hotel was getting air. So, it was
2:13 not the most pleasurable night of sleep,
2:16 but I got a few hours rest, got a nice
2:18 shower, going to get a coffee and head
2:20 out into Paris for the day. I'm inviting
2:22 you to join me. It's good to have you
2:24 here. I really appreciate you watching.
2:26 It's hard to believe it's been 13 years
2:27 since I started this weird
2:30 wacky whatever this is. So, anyone
2:32 that's been here since that first day or
2:35 through the course of the 13 years or
2:37 maybe you're just tuning in for the
2:39 first time, I appreciate it. Join me,
2:42 shall you? Just check the weather. It's
2:44 going to get to 91 today,
2:47 but tomorrow, so today is going to be a
2:49 high of 91. Yesterday was like a high of
2:51 97.
2:53 Today's a high of 91. And then
2:55 tomorrow's here in Paris is only a high
2:58 of 78.
3:00 So tomorrow it'll be a little more
3:02 enjoyable. 7 minutes till noon. So the
3:05 reservation I made to get into the Lou
3:08 Lou Lra the LA the Lou the La
3:19 is at 1:00. It's 11:53. It's about a 2-m
3:19 walk. If I were to walk it, I might just
3:21 walk over there. I probably get there in
3:22 time. But here's the temperatures
3:28 during the undisclosed amount of time
3:28 that I am in the greater Paris area.
3:30 Walking across the river here with this
3:33 kind of old school metal bridge.
4:08 Just taking a stroll. Trying to stay in
4:10 the shade as much as possible. We're
4:11 taking a stroll.
4:25 This is really quite a quite a mess
4:25 through here.
4:28 The traffic situation it looks pretty
4:30 stressful.
4:44 Trying to cut through here. Get across
4:44 the road here. Walk by.
5:07 Yeah. Trying to walk amongst the trees
5:07 and the shay. This
5:10 sculptures over here.
5:17 I was going to try to find the street,
5:17 the R morg, because the streets are
5:19 named the Rue followed by the name of
5:21 the street,
5:23 but evidently there is no RORG. In 1986,
5:26 there was a TV movie. It's been a couple
5:29 different films on it, Murders in the
5:31 Rorg, based on the short story by Edgar
5:34 Allan Poe. George C. Scott was in it,
5:37 Rebecca Deoure, Val Kilmer. And I can
5:40 recall this mid 80s, 85, 86ish. I
5:43 recorded it off TV on a VHS and I
5:46 watched that TV movie so many times,
5:54 but evidently it's not a real place.
5:54 It's a it's a fictional street or a
5:56 fictional area of Paris. Yeah. Shout out
6:00 to that that TV movie. Georgie Scott's
6:01 great in it. Valcommer's great in it.
6:04 Rebecca Deorte
6:09 Georgie Scott was a chess player. is the
6:09 importance of playing chess. I think
6:11 that was the first time see 85 86 I
6:14 would have been 11 12 years old. That
6:16 was the first time I really recall
6:17 seeing chess on film. I don't know. I
6:21 don't know why I remember that. Just
6:22 looked up evidently Edgar Alan Poe never
6:24 even visited
6:26 Paris. Never even never even came to
6:29 Paris. There is a ferris wheel over
6:31 there and some sort of a attraction
6:34 spinning attraction next to it.
6:37 And
6:39 then there's this
6:42 this sphere here. It looks as if there
6:45 are flames underneath it or
6:47 representations of flames. That's from
6:48 back from last year's Olympic games. The
6:51 Olympics were here 24.
7:08 like just some water water effect, a
7:08 mist effect with a light on it to make
7:10 it look like fire. Very cool. Guess the
7:12 lack of shade on the walk I just did was
7:15 really prominent.
7:17 I'm ready to get inside. That was a
7:26 scorcher out here. To be honest, at this
7:26 moment, no clouds in the sky. Supposed
7:29 to be a light rain later, but right now,
7:31 no clouds out. Not a lot of shade. All
7:34 right, there's a time frame entrance
7:35 there for 1:30.
7:38 Mine is 1. It's exactly one. Here it is.
7:41 Right here. Here's the one:00.
7:43 Perfect timing.
7:46 Right on the nose.
7:54 Going in. Showed my ticket. Went through
7:54 the security screening
7:56 and now I'm in.
8:00 There is a tremendous amount of artwork
8:02 in here, but I think I'm going to go to
8:05 the Mona Lisa first. I waited my whole
8:07 life to see that thing in person. Got
8:10 the museum map here. I am looking for
8:12 room 711 71.
8:21 I mean, is there a more famous piece of
8:22 art in the Mona Lisa? There's a lot of
8:24 famous artwork, but when you think of
8:26 famous art pieces of art, for me that's
8:28 the number one. I'm not even sure why. I
8:30 think it's just been ingrained in my
8:31 head through my whole course of my
8:33 existence.
8:45 Really amazed how many people have
8:45 acknowledged my shirt. So like, oh,
8:48 that's a great shirt.
8:50 I just picked it up last night at the
8:51 street vendor. I thought it'd be kind of
8:52 neat to wear today. I think it was like
8:55 €10. Wasn't that much. Yeah, it's got a
8:58 lot It's got a lot of reaction to be
8:59 walking like people probably just saw
9:01 the Mona Lisa and then going down the
9:02 stairs, they see me wearing the shirt
9:03 and they're like, "Oh, that's cool.
9:04 She's blowing a blowing a bubble." I
9:06 know. I'm getting closer cuz this is
9:08 where most people are walking.
9:15 A feeling this room is going to be very
9:15 compact through here.
9:21 Those ceilings are great. Look at that.
9:21 Even the artwork on the ceilings up
9:22 here.
9:36 Wow, look at the roof in here. Well, the
9:36 ceiling, I should say.
9:39 Amazing.
10:05 Holy
10:05 goodness gracious.
10:07 Look at all these people.
10:38 Keep going, please.
10:38 All right. Evidently, I wasn't supposed
10:40 to be walking over that area. taking
10:44 photos. That's like an exit. I guess
10:46 this is like some sort of This is the
10:49 rockar of
10:52 artwork. It's almost like there's going
10:54 to be a performer coming out.
12:14 All right, that just happened.
12:14 That was out of control. That's the only
12:16 way I can describe it is the amount of
12:18 people that were in there looking at
12:21 that piece of art. That was out of
12:23 control.
12:32 One of the other rooms on the 300 level
12:36 Venus to Milo over there. The sculpture
12:38 very popular as well. Quite a
12:41 congregation of people getting photos as
12:43 well. This sculpture discovered in 1820
12:45 on the island of Milos
12:48 Greece. The statue is believed to depict
12:50 Aphrodite, the goddess of love known to
12:52 the Romans as Venus.
12:56 The sculpture is unknown.
12:58 The masterpiece of Greek marble
13:00 sculpture whose sculpture is unknown is
13:04 dated from 120 BC.
13:12 Entire room of sculptures sculptures
13:57 This is very very cool.
14:10 This is a medieval section down towards
14:10 the basement.
14:11 these castle walls down here. All right,
14:15 as I'm exiting out is the boutique
14:20 where you can get her face right here on
14:22 the bag. Little coin purses. I think I'm
14:25 going to get a magnet of some sort. Look
14:27 at this. Like eyeglass case with your
14:28 eyes on it.
14:32 About to head back out into the sun, go
14:34 other places, but
14:37 I'm going to show the magnet I
14:38 purchased.
14:41 And on the back of it, it states that I
14:44 got it here at the Lou.
15:00 in my mind. I thought it was a real
15:00 place.
15:09 Taking a walk now over to the Notre Dame
15:09 Cathedral.
15:11 I want to say Notre Dame, but I think it
15:13 might be pronounced Notre Dame. Here
15:16 there is the Rue de Rivoli
15:20 over there.
15:28 Crossing back over to the other side of
15:28 the river. Got a nice little gust
15:31 coming by right here. Feels pretty good.
15:34 Even though I am in the sun again for a
15:36 brief time period, at least there is a
15:38 nice little breeze. So, got to say the
15:41 the breeze is pretty nice.
15:44 Look at this thing. Look at this boat.
15:46 That's a very unique boat there with
15:49 plenty of observation deck area. I'm
15:53 heading right over there.
16:12 caravan of officers driving through
16:14 This is really an impressive building.
16:16 Look at this thing.
16:41 There it is in all its magnificent
16:41 glory. That's why I've never been
16:42 inside.
16:45 There weren't any reservations
16:46 available, but they said that there is a
16:48 standby queue, but this line is out of
16:52 control lengthy to get in here.
16:55 Wonder if Quasimoto is home.
16:58 Of course, this cathedral.
17:01 Made famous in a lot of different
17:03 movies. A Universal Monsters film. Well,
17:07 Universal Pictures film.
17:10 Wouldn't really call Quasimoto
17:12 a monster, but he was in that era. Early
17:15 20s. The Carl Limley days of Universal.
17:19 Classic.
17:25 Put this place on the map. the filmgoers
17:25 obviously
17:27 and of course Disney put out their
17:29 version which is a now considered a
17:32 classic.
17:38 There was a fire here uh five six seven
17:38 years ago and it was closed for quite a
17:40 while for them to finish fixing it back
17:42 up. Thankfully it was not completely
17:44 destroyed
17:46 but it's back open again.
17:49 Of course, Quasimoto in the story in the
17:51 book, the original book, which the films
17:54 were based on.
17:57 He was a bell ringer.
18:03 I feel like I need to watch the Lawn
18:03 Cheney version again. It's been a while.
18:05 I feel like I I feel like I need to
18:07 watch the Lawn Cheney version again.
18:08 Maybe I'll watch it tonight. I watched
18:11 Paddington the Bear when I was in London
18:14 cuz I went through the Paddington
18:15 station. And now that I'm here
18:19 at the cathedral, maybe I'll watch the
18:21 original Cheney Universal film
18:25 the early 20s. This place is I mean is
18:29 there a I mean I guess there would be
18:31 Westminster Abdi is a pretty popular
18:33 cathedral basilica
18:36 but this is this is one of the top ones.
18:38 Let's be honest. Let's be honest. when I
18:40 was in Bath, England.
18:44 Also, I forgot to mention it when I was
18:45 over there where Mary Shelley started
18:49 writing, wrote the majority of her book
18:52 Frankenstein, which became a Universal
18:53 Monstrous picture, one of the greatest
18:55 Universal Monsters movies ever made.
19:00 The night before I wandered around to
19:03 cover the history of Mary Shelly and
19:05 Bath, I watched the original
19:08 Frankenstein film.
19:11 Yeah, it's kind of it's kind of fun to
19:13 watch stuff when you're in the area that
19:16 things were based on or took place in.
19:18 All right, current time 317. I'm getting
19:20 in line. Do not have a resi.
19:31 I'll time it. This is this this is like
19:32 an HHN line. Speaking of Universal
19:35 Horror,
19:46 this is kind of interesting. They're
19:46 turning a lot of the the ladies away
19:48 that have no sleeves on their shirts.
19:52 You're allowed to wear t-shirts and
19:53 things like that, but I'm seeing quite a
19:55 few women had to leave because they're
19:58 wearing like a a tank top type of thing.
20:01 And this says appropriate worship
20:04 clothing must be worn.
20:08 I'm just wearing shorts and a t-shirt
20:09 like a lot of people are. I mean, a lot
20:11 of people are just wearing
20:13 whatever, but they're
20:16 making some people aren't allowed to go
20:18 in. So, if make sure you wear a shirt
20:21 with at least short sleeves or more
20:23 before coming in here. And the line went
20:25 pretty quick. It's 3:28. It only took 11
20:28 minutes. Also, best remove them,
20:32 which you should do anyway in a place I
20:34 worship.
20:44 Yeah, only took about 12 minutes. That
20:44 was a very, very fast-paced line.
21:00 There's not a lot of elbow room in here,
21:00 truthfully.
21:33 All right. Evidently, they filmed a
21:34 scene from Van Helsing on the roof of
21:36 this cathedral.
21:38 Fight scenes.
21:48 Can't believe I'm inside this place.
21:48 Wild.
22:08 There's a crypt here.
22:08 Here
22:14 you don't exit through the gift shop.
22:14 The gift shop is in the cathedral itself
22:17 over here. Sometimes you'll see things
22:20 outside, but this is inside
22:24 the cathedral.
22:48 There's a serious windstorm. Everyone's
22:50 facing this way because the wind is
22:52 blowing and all this dust. Oh my gosh.
22:55 The dust is like blowing every which
22:57 direction. Oh my gosh.
23:08 It's like a dust literally a dust storm.
23:10 Oh my goodness. All right, it's subsided
23:13 for half a second.
23:15 Oo, it was just like dust was like
23:16 rolling across the
23:19 plane there pretty good
23:21 in my eye now.
23:35 Yeah, knocking off some pretty popular
23:35 spots.
23:37 There's a time in my life I never
23:38 thought I'd see the Mona Lisa or go to
23:41 the Notre Don Cathedral
23:51 stand in a dust storm in Paris. I was
23:51 thinking heading back over to the Eiffel
23:52 Tower, but they have some limited hours
23:54 today as well. And they're not letting
23:56 people up to the summit, only to the
23:58 first section, which I was able to see
24:00 from a hotel balcony.
24:03 But I think tomorrow the weather's
24:04 supposed to be a little bit better. So
24:06 maybe tomorrow I could try to go up to
24:08 the summit because I'm going to do the
24:09 Eiffel Tower. I'm going to go to the I'm
24:11 going to go to the Tippy Top. I don't
24:13 want to just go, you know, halfway up.
24:16 Here's a little update. at 400 p.m.
24:18 today.
24:20 The summit is closed all day July 2nd.
24:24 Visitors with ticket to the summit,
24:25 please check your email if not did not
24:27 get tickets. Long cues are expected
24:30 probably because the entire thing was
24:31 closed yesterday. Well, the majority
24:32 yesterday because of the heat. Due to a
24:35 current heat wave, the Eiffel Tower is
24:36 taking measures to ensure the comfort
24:38 and safety of the visitors and staff.
24:40 Protect yourself from the sun. Stay
24:42 hydrated. Water fountains are available.
24:44 So, I think I'm going to hold off on the
24:46 tower today. Here, I'm here for a little
24:48 while. I could I could do it another
24:51 day. It is gustyoo,
24:54 hot, gusty, dusty.
25:01 What a This is turning into quite the
25:01 experience.
25:03 Wow. Oh, these are cool.
25:07 Magazine, newspaper, book racks.
25:16 Love it. Look at this.
25:16 Very cool.
25:19 If they have have any Edgar Allen Po Oh,
25:21 they have some crime stuff.
25:26 Oh, look at this. There's some film
25:27 stuff.
25:33 Got the monsters here.
25:33 Yes. Yes.
25:51 and a nice little walk in. Think I'm
25:51 going to head over to final resting
25:54 place of Jim Morrison. I've been wanting
25:57 to go there for a long time. He lived
26:00 here very short while before he passed
26:02 away. And this is where he's at.
26:08 Well, not right here. It's another mile
26:08 up the up the way.
26:18 Yeah, I had to get a little water here
26:18 crystalline
26:20 from the source.
26:23 Stay hydrated. I had my caffeine. Now I
26:26 need my hydration. I'm walking some I'm
26:29 walking some miles today. Getting some
26:30 steps in. Feels good.
26:33 Feels really good.
26:36 All right, here it is.
26:39 Hey, a visit to the Lizard King.
26:54 He only lived in Paris a few months.
26:54 Wow.
27:11 They had a map with some of the names of
27:11 people who were here and he was on
27:13 there. Sex section six number 30 was the
27:19 one on the map.
28:21 You don't usually see these type of
28:21 crips with the doors open like that.
28:25 There's a lot of them in here that are
28:27 open.
28:54 There's a crow right there.
28:54 Oh, flying off. There's another one
28:56 right there.
29:09 But this place is definitely
29:09 something that Po
29:12 would have felt comfortable in even
29:13 though he never visited here.
29:17 This is what he wrote about these type
29:19 of places.
29:52 That's a serious siren going on. Also,
29:52 speaking of something serious, look at
29:53 this.
29:58 That is something.
30:15 I'm going to probably assume that this
30:16 is it.
30:26 Maybe not. I was thinking because these
30:26 were around it.
30:29 Oh, it's on the other side. It's over
30:30 there.
30:32 It's over there.
30:37 They put these up around the back just
30:37 so people don't cut through. Right
30:40 there. James Douglas
30:42 Morrison,
30:45 part of the 27 Club.
30:53 Lot of people have evidently climbed
30:53 over these and
30:55 place little momentos
30:58 as well. And obviously I'm not the only
31:00 one here. There's a few other people.
31:16 That's weird. There's like a gum tree
31:16 here. Look at this.
31:54 There was an original bust on the
31:54 headstone that someone stole in the 80s
31:57 and it was missing for like three and a
31:58 half decades. They just found it, but
32:01 it's not back out yet. was
32:05 whoever ended up stealing it, they had
32:07 it in their or others possession
32:10 and the authorities found it, I guess,
32:12 really very recently, but they haven't
32:14 placed it back out here, nor do I know
32:16 if they will.
32:20 Could be one of those things that if
32:20 they put it back out some of Steel, it
32:22 might end up in a museum or something.
32:23 But
32:29 yeah, when you think of the doors, you
32:29 think of LA.
32:31 He lived in LA for quite a while and he
32:34 only lived here a very short while. But
32:36 this is where he passed away and this is
32:37 where his final resting place is.
32:41 So someone that's into the doors and you
32:43 live in the know California or the US.
32:48 You can't just go over to Hollywood
32:49 forever, pay your respects. So I figured
32:52 while I was here in Paris, got to stop
32:56 off here at
32:58 his resting place. Pretty
33:06 amazing.
33:06 Part of 27 club.
33:22 And evidently his girlfriend that he
33:22 moved to Paris to be with is going to
33:24 take some time off from things and just
33:26 relax in Paris with her. She was also
33:29 part of the 27 club
33:37 which is a name given to those you know
33:37 artists, musicians etc that pass away at
33:40 that age.
33:49 You got somebody leaving their Venice.
33:49 He lived in Venice for a while. Venice,
33:52 California, obviously. Venice Beach.
33:55 There's a mural of Jim there.
34:24 Evidently, Oscar Wild is also here.
34:29 So, I'm go find his spot.
34:34 Probably the whole time I was at
34:35 Morrison's
34:42 about 20 30 people, different people
34:42 walked up,
34:44 pay their respects, get some photos,
34:47 talk amongst themselves.
34:50 And as I was leaving, one of the last
34:52 people that approached was a gentleman
34:55 in an ECV cart had a hard time. He was
34:59 with his friend
35:02 rolling up the the brick here. Well,
35:05 back there behind me,
35:08 but he had a Jim Morrison shirt on.
35:12 So, a little older gentleman.
35:15 And you could tell he really just wanted
35:17 to be there to pay his respects.
35:29 And while I just stood there and watched
35:29 him and his friend, you know, looking at
35:31 the grave, talking amongst themselves,
35:34 really made me realize that
35:39 you never know what you're going to put
35:39 out there. you know, as an artist
35:43 that people relate to
35:51 or they can,
35:51 you know, use in their own lives either
35:54 as inspiration or maybe it gets them
35:57 through a certain time in their lives or
36:00 just whatever memories
36:02 that they have of someone. even if it's
36:05 not your thing.
36:12 I don't know. Just it was really
36:12 touching to see to see that.
36:18 And Jim Morrison, a huge superstar in
36:18 the rock world.
36:24 This really is quite the place. I mean,
36:24 just look at these sculptures,
36:28 crypts
36:29 all through here.
36:32 It's just beautiful.
36:39 Look, this guy
36:39 has a sculpture of himself with a book
36:42 there. Edmund About
36:47 Edmund about
36:53 1885 passed on.
36:53 This is a castle.
36:56 Rudolph Lehman
36:58 made a castle to be laid in.
37:09 This is a really unique section
37:10 with some of these headstones and really
37:13 went all out.
37:33 dating 1918. Born in 19 Oh,
37:33 born in 1901 and passed on in 1918.
37:38 This is entire family.
37:47 Even one as recent as 03.
37:47 Most the other ones are 61 and earlier
37:49 1950.
38:35 I believe that this is Oscar Wilds over
38:36 here
38:42 most famously from The Importance of
38:42 Being Earnest. Trying to think of some
38:44 of the other stuff that he did. an
38:46 eccentric eccentric poet and writer.
39:14 That's very interesting. It almost looks
39:14 as if this woman is leaning against
39:18 I guess someone with a cape like almost
39:20 like the Grim Reaper or something.
39:22 Probably not what it's supposed to be,
39:24 but that's what it looks like to me.
39:41 Oh, look at this one.
39:41 Look at that.
39:43 Almost looks like a writing book on this
39:45 one. That is very interesting.
40:02 And he's got this plexi partition
40:02 around.
40:16 That is very interesting. Look at that.
40:16 It's like a chair up there.
40:19 Got lipstick marks here on the glass.
40:32 People have laid things down here as
40:32 well.
40:34 Well, they've probably thrown them over
40:36 the the glass.
41:01 and you got the carvings in there as
41:01 well. author
41:16 was born Oh, here we go. was born at 21
41:16 Westland Road in Dublin
41:19 in 1854.
41:30 Trying to see through the plexi.
41:33 This tomb
41:47 Jacob Epstein
41:48 was given by a lady as a memorial to her
41:51 admiration of the poet.
42:02 I mean that is quite a headstone
42:02 honestly.
42:04 Look up here.
43:05 All right, I took a taxi for a little
43:05 bit of a ways. Man, I have to say this
43:08 is probably some of the worst traffic
43:10 I've ever seen ever anywhere.
43:14 I'm thinking maybe taking the subway. I
43:15 was like, I'll jump in a taxi just to go
43:17 like four or five miles. It was like an
43:19 hour. And there's like some kind of a
43:22 conundrum going on up here. So, I was
43:24 like, just drop me off here and I'll
43:25 walk the rest of the way. It really is
43:27 wild how crazy people drive. I mean, the
43:31 bikes weaving in and out, taxis waving
43:34 in and out,
43:36 people honking, tour buses trying to get
43:39 through.
43:46 This is This is an intersection right
43:47 That's an intersection.
43:57 like explain to me what's going on. This
43:57 is this is the normal intersections
43:59 here. This is not because of like a
44:00 fender bender that I think happened, but
44:03 this is the normal intersections when
44:04 you get not a roundabout. It's just like
44:06 a weaving in and out.
44:35 That's something
44:35 something.
45:03 What are these cars doing? The traffic's
45:03 going that way.
45:43 One more night.
46:08 And that's going to do it for today.
46:08 Back over at my hotel. I'll see you in
46:10 the next video. Thanks for watching. The
46:12 vlog is over and it's still very windy.
46:15 Very windy.
