1:07 I'm getting slightly claustrophobic.

1:12 Marriott Hotel. People are pouring in

1:22 stressful. I got to get out of that

1:33 crazy. Yesterday the vendor room was

1:36 pretty much at capacity. They wouldn't

1:38 let us in. Since the parade just ended,

1:40 we're hoping people are going to flood

1:42 to the Marriott and they will leave the

1:44 vendor room over here accessible. We're

1:47 going to try to get in. And now they're

1:48 not letting anybody in again. So, we're

1:50 stuck on the second floor. It's at

1:52 capacity again.

1:54 Get in this floor in a minute. It's just

1:55 over capacity right now. So, third floor

1:57 vendors right up top here. Right

1:58 upstairs.

1:59 So, they're sending us upstairs to just

2:01 hang out on the third floor and just to

2:03 commiserate with all the other the other

2:05 con folk until the vendor room opens,

2:07 whenever that is.

2:14 Success. We are now entering the vendor

2:14 room.

2:15 All right, I was incorrect. This is not

2:16 the vendor room. This is the anime and

2:19 comic book table room, which is still

2:22 pretty awesome. Below this one is the

2:24 vendor room. And that one is still a

2:26 capacity. Now, here's a superhero anyone

2:28 can get behind, the flaming carrot. But

2:31 beware, he will throw a stink bomb.

2:39 It's probably the coolest vending

2:39 machine I've ever seen. Look at these.

2:44 some kind of little tiki monster. Wa!

5:19 Something I've wanted to check out for a

5:21 while. And there's my Uber right here.

5:30 There are so many people downtown

5:32 Atlanta. There's a football game today,

5:34 too. I just cannot get away from the

5:37 immensess of crowds. I have now arrived

5:40 at the CNN

5:43 Center. And through these doors lies a

5:46 little bit of theme park history. Way

5:48 before this was owned by CNN, it was

5:50 owned by Sid and Marty Croft, who

5:53 created a character of HR Puff and

5:56 Stuff. And right up there, there was a

5:58 theme park that lasted less than one

6:01 year.

6:06 And no one really knows why the theme

6:06 park closed. It could have been bad

6:07 decision-making. It could have been a

6:09 bad idea altogether. Or it could have

6:11 just been bad economy back in the 70s.

6:13 And what you are looking at now is the

6:15 world's largest freestanding escalator.

6:18 See how it's touching nothing from point

6:21 A to point B. That makes it

6:23 freestanding. This holds the Guinness

6:26 Book of World Records for escalators.

6:29 And right up here where the globe was,

6:30 that's where part of the theme park was.

6:32 And down here, there was an ice skating

6:35 rink. Cartoon Network now has a store in

6:38 here with these three animals standing

6:41 on top of each other's shoulders. You

6:43 got to wonder if all these college

6:45 football fans who are excited about this

6:47 game that is happening today have any

6:50 clue of the history of this place that

6:53 is now home to the CNN World

6:56 Headquarters.

6:57 You can kind of get a general idea of

6:59 what this place was like from this

7:00 pamphlet I found online. of the

7:02 wonderful world of Sid and Marty Croft.

7:06 Just look at this. This is from the

7:08 mid70s. That's what it looked like then.

7:11 And this is what it looks like now. Big

7:16 difference, right? Well, kind of.

7:17 Structurally, still the same, but

7:20 totally different theme. Right in here,

7:23 someone was ice skating. If you were to

7:25 try to walk on ice here, all these

7:27 people would slip and fall, and that

7:30 would be hazardous. I am seriously

7:32 getting the strangest looks for filming

7:34 myself in here. Right here in the lobby,

7:36 there is the CNN newsroom experience.

7:39 And I'm guessing they use this at

7:41 certain times to do news. But according

7:45 to this, it says, "Please no recording

7:49 or flash photography." So technically,

7:52 right now, I'm breaking the rules. My

7:55 apologies, CNN.

7:57 Do not hunt me down.

8:02 guys, but I get the feeling that I am

8:05 Clark Kent converting into Superman

8:08 whenever I go through one of these

8:10 circular doors and out into the public.

10:53 next time I come out, I'm only going to

10:55 come for one or two days. But I always

10:57 end up staying for the whole thing. So,

11:02 more stuff than just the convention. I'm

11:04 going try to do a few other things

11:05 around Atlanta. Like today, I tried to

11:07 do one of the things outside the
